I was super excited to try this place out while staying in Sedona & was pretty satisfied with the meal. The location is neat-- you can read on their menu about the area and what they've done with the place to make it a peaceful place and what not, but I was more concerned with testing out the food :) They have a tremendous amount of variety on their menu, something I haven't found at a lot of other vegetarian cafes I've tried out. Even if someone in your party isn't super adventurous, they would most definitely be able to find something they like here. We ordered all sorts of dishes: the corn chowder, the mushroom fantasy, the avocado herb sandwich, and some sort of curry. Across the board, everything was pretty tasty & the portion was really generous for the price you paid, but we did find ourselves reaching for the salt shaker quite a bit. The entrees tasted very plain, clean & healthy, but lacked a lot of bold flavor. The avocado sandwich was amazing however, I wouldn't change anything about that. It was also surprisingly filling and very satisfying, although it fell apart pretty easily because the "bread" was more like a conglomeration of seeds. For dessert we tried a bunch of different chocolates, the blueberry corn muffins, the coconut creme pie, the tiramisu, and the chocolate chip brownie. The blueberry corn muffins were just bad so I would not recommend those, and the coconut creme pie was tasty but too rich to eat the entire slice. The "brownie" wasn't really like a traditional brownie, but that and the tiramisu were our favorites. Overall, everything was tasty and very healthy, but nothing that I've found myself craving in the days since I've eaten here. Nevertheless they get 4 stars for the high quality of the food, the extraordinary number of options, and the creativity that went into making pretty good dishes that we'd never tried before. read more

The 4 star rating is misleading. This is one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. Everything is way overpriced. They want 12 bucks for the sort of meal I put together on a day that I am not in the mood to cook. Mushrooms rice and mashed potatoes. My wife had something called a tempeh tamale, which was definitely not a tamale, and I don't know where the tempeh was. This was accompanied by a tiny serving of under seasoned beans. I was totally impressed by this restaurant and their mission. The attention to detail was incredible. For someone who is not a vegan or vegetarian but promotes clean and healthy eating, I would consider becoming a vegan if other restaurants could be as creative and good. Everything is 100% organic, gluten free and soy free and they even sprout the seeds, nuts and legumes. I had the Veggie Burger and hummus appetizer. My wife had the mushroom fantasy which was also very good. I had the adaptive tea and the coffee which were both delicious. You should also try the hot chocolate as they use their own raw chocolate. Everything is super good for you and they go into detail all of the wonderful benefits of the food they serve. Stopped in here to pick up some chocolate. Everything I got was incredible but I do think the price is a bit steep. I spent $22 on maybe 8 pieces of chocolate. I had some caramels, vanilla sea salt, coffee flavored, a coconut cup, and my favorite, mint! Covid CDC guidelines aren't followed at all here. Most people wearing in line were not wearing masks, and weren't asked to do so. The employee taking orders was wearing a lace mask, kitchen employees weren't wearing them at all, nor was the man who brought our coffees out. I only saw one server wearing one. Nothing was being sanitized between uses. They had a laminated article out by the chocolate case stating that "nobody has died from coronavirus." I work for a hospital and this is just blatant mockery of the pandemic we all are facing. Anytime I go in here I meet someone wonderful. And isn't that why people leave their homes ? Human connection. The entire staff here is incredible and all the food is nourishing, delicious, and fresh. You can taste the prana flowing through the food. The Pachamama chai latte is my favorite bevvie and I love to get the enchiladas. There is also a chia crackers snack (app) that you can mix & match different dips with. The rest of my party also complained of bland, flavorless food. For the amount of money we spent, it was a complete disappointment. First and foremost, I never write reviews, but I am fuming and disgusted right now. This establishment must be either seriously rebranded or in my opinion, shut down permanently. Being a devout Hindu, the sheer disrespect and appropriation for Hinduism is blatant and extremely disappointing as soon as you walk into the door. Statues of our gods and goddesses lain around the entire property, a Ganpati image stuck inappropriately on a flag. Looking at the menu, I got even more pissed. From the "Guruji's Grace" juice shot to the "Krishna Cookie," this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. We never hear of a "Jesus Burger" or an "Allah Parfait," so why is the constant and continuous appropriation of Hindu culture, gods and goddesses so normalized. We heard that the owner was of Indian descent, but as this point, I'm ashamed at him/her for even having the audacity to claim this whilst simultaneously appropriating their own culture in this fashion. It is completely apparent why the staff that I saw working, were all white. I was furious the moment I looked at the menu and refused to order, but I was curious to see what my friends' dishes would look like. The "Bean Burrito" was a half-cooked potato lazily thrown into a DOSA, surrounded by some bland, boiled beans wrapped and topped with the sorriest excuse of pico de gallo. Appropriation aside, let's look at the numerous health code violations. The front desk cashier was wearing a Middle-Eastern see through, net veil in place of a standard face mask; what should I talk about first, appropriating YET another culture, or the fact that an open bottom thin piece of fabric will do ABSOLUTELY nothing to stop the spread of the pandemic. The lack of social distancing is not even worth addressing, when this establishment should barely be allowed to function without the pandemic issue. Walking by, the kitchen was extremely disorganized and the fact that the "cooks" or servers weren't even WEARING a mask while preparing the food is reason alone to walk out of the establishment. The water and utensil station were located in the near the entrance of the garden, allowing guests to carelessly congregate without masks, filling up their "authentic" Indian brass cups from the "authentic" Indian brass jug, Lord knowing when either of the two were sanitized or washed. For too long has Indian culture been exploited for the profit of others, and no, saying "That's just Sedona for you," is not a FUCKING justification. It is 2020 and this kind of utter blasphemy will not be tolerated anymore. This establishment is just another one, in a long list of others, which has shamelessly, disrespected and stolen an entire culture, religious symbols and idols; I'm looking at you too, Satya Jewelry. Staff--the usual "too cool for school" vibe that can be present at these types of natural places. Fresh food and healthy/high quality unique available to-go items I.e. food, supplements, clothing, scents, books etc. Some menu items better than others. After an amazing morning hike, feeling all the energies in Sedona, we visited ChocolaTree for a late breakfast. We chose to sit in the lovely and relaxing garden area. I started with a wheatgrass shot, and really enjoyed it! I ordered the jasmine tea which came in the cutest tea pot. It was great! I had the apple honey granola for my meal: (Crunchy sprouted buckwheat, pumpkin seeds, almonds & pecans sweetened with raw honey, fennel seeds, dates, raisins & cinnamon in sprouted almond milk and topped with seasonal fruit). It was a perfectly good, healthy and filling selection. After many glasses of the spring water, and many mosquito bites later, we wrapped up and headed onto our next adventure. (I guess the mosquitos are a new problem, but wish I'd known in advance!) It was a cool spot, good service, and a relaxing space offering hula hoops and hammocks to enjoy while you wait for your food. I recommend and hope to visit again, on my next Sedona trip! read more

Many staff, including those in the kitchen and serving food were not wearing masks at all, even though they were working inside and in close proximity to others. This is a must stop for vegans. That said its the only primary vegan eatery in town aside from the local juicery (that's their actual name to). What's good: Open until 9, even on a sunday! It may not seem big but in this town some places close at 6 and the juicery at 5 the latest. Cool options! Healthy stuff that's original and unique or indian inspired but also healthier versions of popular dishes you find at normal american establishments like the enchilada. Juice, smoothies and great desserts. What I had: Ginger lemonade was delicious and spicy exactly as I like it! It felt very cleansing and was the perfect balance of sweetness, citrus derived acidity and spiciness from the ginger. I also had the fruit parfait made with coconut milk. It was good but not as consistently smooth as a traditional creamy yogurt in a parfait in terms of both flavor and texture. It also only had blueberry and bananas as its "seasonal fruit". Last I had the spinach curry. Not much like I expected from the name. I think most of the rest of the menu would be more fun and fresh. It was just quinoa, some vegan hummus looking "cheese" and spinach with light curry flavor. There was no curry sauce like I expected and desired! Though I did ask the server and he told me it was not soup-like but thick. It seemed actually dry but only in the context that when I think of curry I expect a sauce or otherwise liquidity consistency in some relation. They have many original house made chocolates usually dark flavor and quite expensive (you buy per bite sized piece for multiple dollars each). Absolutely loved it here! Out of our trip, my husband and I loved this restaurant the most. It was raining on our 1 year anniversary so we couldn't go to bell rock like we planned. We are both very healthy eaters, I tend to eat little meat and go plant based on and off. This food was SO good!!!! He had the enchilada, and wow. Get that.
