    Corn chowder

Ambiance: Close to nature, simple with dog friendly patio and garden. They also have a spot for babies with a swing , books and toys. Service was quick Food: The food here was good overall. However, this is not a usual restaurant. Food is organic, vegan. Corn chowder was hearty and yummy, but not as creamy as one would expect. Dosa was also not made from the usual batter, it was thick. My toddler liked it though. Avocado toast was good, and the dark chocolate was pretty decent.

Nice selection of vegan and vegetarian options for lunch, great selection of drinks. I had a mushroom dish with rice and mashed potatoes. It was ok but it looked very unappetizing. My friend had the Thai salad which looked great initially but when the tahini dressing was mixed in, it looked like a real mess. My ginger with honey lemonade was great. I did not like my friends chocolate drink that I tried... tasted like fake chocolate milk to me. I had a lemoncello bon-bon ($3 a piece!) and found it so-so. The garden patio in the back is great, inside is fun. Overall, not my place to be

I have been here many times over the past several years and it's been a favorite place of mine to stop. Let's start here. I always get chocolates, they are some of the best I've had and I appreciate the focus on healthy medicinal yet delicious creations. So.. I got some chocolates and another just have favorite of mine... CHEEZEY KALE CHIPS. There is truly a wonderful selection of things here from chocolate tree pantry and fridge staples to locally made products and jewelry and more. The vibe is earthy, hippie and stunning. I love spending time here. They often have bands playing in the garden, bathrooms are available for guest. There is so much seating and! Free spring waste on the outside spout.. (be respectful of parking, space, time and others when filling) The one thing that was unfortunately disappointing this time around was paying for a high priced high quality cacao drink but getting it and feeling like it was water with a dash of cocoa powder. I recall at one point it was thick and flavorful, this was very lack luster so I put a piece of one of my cacao chocolates in and it helped. But it made me reluctant to try again and I've heard a few times from long time regulars that some menu items have become inconsistent and at times not so good. Nonetheless, it's simply just sharing true experience and as I've said, it's a great place.

ChocolaTree was this vegetarian-in-training's oasis in the desert. Delicious, filling, healthy food. A helpful and friendly staff, and an ancient gnarled tree sitting on top of an energetic hot spot. Perhaps foolishly - time will tell - I had impulsively decided to stop eating meat the day that I had the veggie omelette at The Secret Garden (also Sedona & in my reviews). This meant that I was positively starving and it was already later than acceptable to get food in the area, maybe 9pm. Tanya at the Secret Garden had recommended I go to this place because they had a wonderful energetic zone here but I had forgotten about it until I found myself heading to stargaze while a little hungry and realized they were open. I popped a U-turn into their shaded lot it was dark when I arrived so lots of stars, and went into the wooden and rustic yet modern restaurant. It kind of feels like the restaurant springs from a tree that is still living, it's very nice. I mentioned I was going stargazing and that I'd been recommended this place and Daniel who was working referred me to the Pacha Mama latte... this was absolutely delicious and when I went back to look at the contents of the drink I realized it had a world tree seed in it.. !? I wondered if it was a ceiba seed. It was smoky and chocolate with a hint of cinnamon and a lot of something to blow your heart chakra open. I sat on one side of the circular wooden base of the tree, and observed a stage and other beautiful parts of the garden - I took a walk around before I left. I packed up some mushroom risotto for my stargazing - hoo boy I ate it all. Salt & pepper to your hearts content but a vegan meal that sticks to your ribs and feels grounding is priceless. Thank you, Daniel for answering the door after I'd already gone to the car, and for taking time to give me directions when I realized I had no idea where I was going. The stargazing trip was truly spectacular and something I will never forget. Sincerest thanks for a full belly and an open heart!

They were very nice answered all of our questions and there were a lot. The outdoor patio takes a second to get to but very cute and pretty. The food was delicious with substitutions available which we love. They also had vegan options.

Amazing service and ambiance, Satvik food with a calm afternoon experience. Perfect place to relax and eat after a tiring day, and to forget everything else in life.

This place is awesome! The food is all organic, everything in house. Welcoming & attentive staff. Excellent & varied selection of vegan options. The patio is so beautiful & relaxing, live music some days. We came for dinner Thursday and to go back today for lunch & to experience it during the day. Will probably go back again before we leave Sedona, it's that good!

    Amazing chocolate selection!

Amazing chocolate selection! Such a cute little gem tucked away. Must try! There are so many stuff for sale inside not just food.

Delicious vegetarian and vegan food! The service is friendly and informative. We had the spirulina juice, the mushroom wild rice bowl, the coconut dahl, and green goddess salad. We were blessed with a sunny day, so we enjoyed our meal in the cute courtyard. Then we strolled through the organic gardens! What a wonderful hidden gem! I will definitely come again the next time I visit Sedona!

This place is a must every time I'm in Sedona. I can't rave enough about the vibe, the scents, the amazing healthy meal options, epic drink choices and friendly faces. Daniel was super helpful and sweet when ordering. Cool dude. We got heart love a delicious warm cocoa with a nice kick to it. Yum! Veggie bowl was so clean and fresh with organic spinach, fresh tomatoes, carrots, guacamole, warm sweet potatoes. The mushroom bowl so hearty and perfect wild rice, mashed yukon potatoes, and yummy mushrooms are. Love love love. Wish I had this place where I lived.

Food- offered interesting options which were tastefully prepared and nutrishish. I had the banana bread and quesidillas with guacamole and topped it all off with a Vanilla Cream soda. Delightful. Service and Staff - all members I had the pleasure of meeting were simply delightful. Ambiance - so relaxing. I had my food on the back patio which was beautifully decorated and offered both a sense of peace and a great spot to communicate with members of my party. All-in-all I enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend stopping by for a meal.

This place is so charming. Everyone is friendly and helpful. FYI, I'm not a vegan but enjoy vegan food. The three-bean chili was flavorful and not too hot for my timid palate. Perfect texture and temp. I had the "Butterfinger" and it was off the chain! Deep dark chocolate on top, crunchy peanut buttery bottom. I've never had anything like it. The French press was very good. I had a hot chocolate, and it was hot and tasty but not as creamy as I'm used to. This is a magical oasis in Sedona.

I've eaten here twice and just absolutely love the atmosphere. The last time I was here, there was table service, so the place has changed. You order and pay at the counter and choose where you'll be dining. Your order is delivered to your table. So many places to choose to sit. There are three separate dining areas indoors and large spaces for dining outdoors in the front and back, so it's perfect for large groups. Only because it was a little chilly outdoors did I choose to dine indoors. I ordered a bowl of the four bean chili, avocado toast, and their version of coffee. The chili was really good. I didn't particularly like the bread of the avocado toast, and I wasn't used to the flavors in my drink. On my way out, I grabbed the little donut shaped dessert and large cookie. The cookie was really good. Just be aware that this restaurant is truly vegan, hippie food. And, yes, it's expensive to dine here.

One of the people at the meeting had a friend attending, and when I brought the box of donuts in, she told her friend '"These are the donuts I've been telling you about." Everyone enjoyed them, including the guest speaker and her crew. I'd been warned about the line waiting to order, which made its way outdoors. In reality, the line was only a minute or two long. I was impressed by their apple fritters: usually, the dough is quite saturated with the cooking oil used, but these were light, crunchy, and not at all what I usually expect. Service was excellent, and they treat the customer really well (saw someone re-order as they initially ordered the wrong item; the individual at the register was very nice to the crabby customer -- who tried to make it the mistake of the server: that wasn't her fault). They have very good coffee. Prices are what they are as fuel prices have made a mess of the economy.

Aside from the tea, they also sold all kinds of goodies--from traditional dresses to books to little trinkets--which I later found out that 70% of the products they sold here were handmade by their rural women & men. There was just so much to explore that my eyes and my heart were full and I haven't even had their teas yet. Another couple of things I found out later on while I indulged myself in more chai than I probably should have and scrolled through their website: (1) half of their profit goes to support women and children in Pakistan, and (2) this place is a "social-enterprise dedicated to peace-building and socio-economic empowerment of women and children in Pakistan." With that, truly, my heart and my belly could not be fuller and I'm so glad I made a point to visit this place at Tlaquepaque! There were some tables and chairs, as well as area rugs where groups sat crisscross applesauce, outside the store on the terrace since they're located on the second floor. They also had a few of these super charming balconies you can hang out and sip your drink at. If you're not in a rush, I think staying and having your tea there completes the whole experience. What we tried: Butter Chai - 5/5 Traditional Cardamom -4/5 Iced Black - 4/5 From the three drinks we got, my ultimate favorite was the Butter Chai. Apparently, they don't consider this as their best seller, but I have seen so many people rave about this particular drink and I couldn't be happier that I went for it. It was the perfect symphony of sweet and creamy with the spices not being too overwhelming. I didn't know that it came with some toppings of crushed pistachios too, but they make sure to ask if you're okay with that when you order. Overall, this one's quite a special place. If you get a chance to stroll around the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, I highly recommend you stop by here!

The anticipation was high, and unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the hype. For context, I'm from California and am accustomed to fresh, authentic Mexican food. To be fair, Elote Café does not claim to be authentic Mexican cuisine. If that's what you're looking for, this is not it. The menu leans much more toward a Tex-Mex/fusion style. Drinks The margaritas were fine. We requested Tajín rims, which they accommodated, but the presentation felt underwhelming for a restaurant of this reputation and price point. High-end cocktail programs typically include thoughtful touches--dried citrus, smoked cinnamon, herbs, or something that elevates the experience. These arrived as basic margaritas with salt and a lime wedge. Appetizers The complimentary chips and salsa were just okay. The salsa had an unexpected sweetness that didn't work for me. The famous Elote, however, absolutely deserves the praise. It was the best thing I ate all night--savory, balanced, and packed with flavor. Easily a 10/10. The guacamole was also excellent. No complaints there. Entrees The chicken enchiladas had flavorful chicken, but the green sauce was overwhelmingly tart and lacked the seasoning needed to balance that acidity. The shrimp and pork belly dish was disappointing. The pork belly was good, but there were only two very small pieces. The shrimp were underseasoned and lacked flavor. The carne asada was the biggest letdown of the night. It arrived covered in a red sauce that seemed to be attempting an enchilada-style sauce, topped with pickled onions and a slice of bleu cheese. While I appreciated the pickled onions, the bleu cheese felt like a strange addition to a carne asada dish. More importantly, despite being described as a prime cut skirt steak and cooked rare as requested, the meat was surprisingly tough. Rice&Beans The entrees came with rice and beans. The beans were acceptable, though nothing memorable. The rice, however, tasted like boxed or instant rice. At a restaurant where a dinner for four can easily approach $300, I expect better than something that tastes like it came from a pantry packet. It's a small detail, but details matter when a restaurant has built its reputation around being a must-visit dining destination. Dessert By this point we had no intention of ordering dessert, but we were celebrating a birthday and received a complimentary ice cream dessert. It was actually very good. The vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce all tasted house-made and had a rich dulce de leche flavor. Final Thoughts Our bill was nearly $300 for four people, and the overall experience simply wasn't worth the cost. Aside from the elote and guacamole, most dishes felt underseasoned, unbalanced, or failed to justify the restaurant's reputation. What puzzled me most was seeing several empty tables throughout service. Given how difficult reservations are to obtain, I expected the restaurant to be completely full. This is one of those restaurants where the hype far exceeds the reality. If you're worried about missing out, don't be. In my opinion, you're not.
