The food here is in my opinion the best Thai and Asian cuisine in Ash Flat and the surrounding area. It was so good that I ate it before even thinking about taking a picture. Wow, who knew I could find Thai in little ol' Ash Flat. Such a little gem to find and the food is wonderful. Chok Dee will satisfy that yearning for Thai for sure. You can close your eyes and point at something on the menu and it'll be absolutely fantastic! I've never had anything mediocre here. EVERYTHING IS AMAZING! Some of my favorites that I think are a must try are ALL of the curries, coconut soup, Tom yum soup, hot beef, three taste fish, pad Thai, spring rolls, and the list goes on! Went yesterday. Our waitress was friendly, willing to share her favorite dish and made the perfect hotness suggestion for us! The cook made our orders without fish sauce by concocting a lovely spicy garlic sauce. The place is very small but we sat outside with our dog. The food was not disappointing! A hidden gem in the middle of Nowheresville! If you're passing through, or even if you're not, make the effort to get some good food. You don't want that fast food wrecking your body anyway, right? Chokdee Thai Kitchen On Monday, September 12th at approximately 2 pm two guests to our area and I went to Chokdee Thai Restaurant in Ash Flat. The owner refused us entry to the establishment due to the service dog my girlfriend must have with her in public. We gently advised him that it was against state and federal law to refuse entry due to someone with disabilities. He then more aggressively refused us entry and told us we could sit outside. I pressed the matter and advised that it was hot outside and we would like to sit inside. He again instructed that we could not enter and then told US to go down to the road to speak to the department of health. In frustration, we exited the restaurant and sat down at one of the picnic tables behind the building and waited for the waitress to wait on us. We could see her through the window in the door and she refused to look at us. Our wait time was approximately 7 minutes when the owner realized we were not going to leave, he then came out and told us he was going to go down to the department of health and speak to the inspector of the situation, still refusing to serve us. There was a loud verbal argument that ensued where the owner then began yelling and berating us. Mey girlfriend tried to explain to the un-gentleman that he was breaking the law and she could turn him in for discrimination and refusal of service in which the owner replied, "I DON"T CARE!" We then left with the promise that I would write a review for him here and one a couple of other sites for his poor behavior, poor knowledge of the law and poor judgement. This event saddens me, my husband and I give this place a LOT of business and a LOT of recommendations. I don't think you can compare Chok Dee to the Thai restaurants in Chicago. Just not in the same league. But that said, I go there all of the time. Their spicy beef salad (#5 Hot) is excellent. Summer rolls very tasty. Most everything they have is quite tasty. Pad Thai is another excellent item. They have very friendly atmosphere and great service. Its clean and simple. Very nice people!!
