V21 BbQ Pork, Shrimp and egg roll noodle bowl
    S A.

Amazing place for Vietnamese or Thai. I recommend V1 Vietnamese Summer Rolls and V21 the Vietnamese Noodles Bowl (bun) with shrimp, BBQ pork and Vietnamese egg roll. This place is off the charts delicious and you won't feel bloated or heavy after eating here. Servers are very friendly and fast as well. Highly recommended.

One of my regulars, good quality, good service.. Only complaint is they didn't have any dessert to satisfy my sweet tooth this evening

I dined at Thai Papaya Restaurant on Tuesday, January, 26, 2021 at 1 pm. Their impressive menu offers a variety of dishes ranging from Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Lao. I've yet to see an Asian fusion restaurant that is able to pull off such an expansive menu, and I'm sorry to say that this one was way off the mark. I'd love to revisit to try their other dishes to write a more comprehensive review covering their other dishes, but my first experience was enough to avoid this place in the future. The pho tasted very cheap like something that I would expect at an Asian buffet. The meat tasted old and not fresh and meatballs were very small and tasted like I was being cheaped out. The Thai spicy seafood salad was average and needed a lot of refinement and finesse. The rice plate (V26 Dac biet Tau Huky Rice plate) was a mess. The meatloaf looked like someone had already taken a bite out of it and tasted OLD. The grilled pork lacked any flavor or seasoning. The egg was overcooked and fried to hell at the bottom. This Vietnamese dish is supposed to be a very classic comfort food, but I left dissatisfied. Service could use improvement. The server took a while to give us menus after being seated. She didn't write down any of our orders and ended up forgetting a dish (not surprised). However, all was forgiven after she sat down at a table behind us for her lunch break and started talking obnoxiously on the phone. Overall, the food tasted like quick half-assed food. This restaurant needs to work on refining their dishes and reevaluate their capabilities in cooking such a big menu. I rather eat at a restaurant with a small menu that has above average food than a restaurant with a large menu with poor quality food. Less is more.

V8. Meatball Pho (without onions or cilantro)

We found this place conveniently close to our hotel and we wanted Vietnamese. It's in a strip mall - east to get to and plenty of parking. Walking in - very clean and nicely decorated. We were greeted and seated right away. It wasn't too busy. Our waitress brought over waters and we were ready to order so we let her know. I got the meatball pho. I asked for no onions or cilantro. My mom got one of the rice and pork chop meals. My step dad also got pho. We were giving the typical extras for the pho of bean sprouts, limes, and jalapeños but no other common things like Thai basil or mint. The pho came out and the broth was very dark compared to what I've seen before. It tasted standard to me - not so bad. My mom was not impressed with her meal. She mentioned there was no dipping sauce for her pork (I guess standard) and the amount of meat they give you for the price of the dish is comical. They also gave her a butter knife to cut it and it would cut. It looked dry and she was unsatisfied. The service was not great either. We got checked on in the very beginning when our food was served but never again after. The two girls working just hung out at the counter talking. My mom kept mentioning the next day that we needed to find "REAL" Vietnamese food - did i mention we are Vietnamese? I guess it's our fault for going to a restaurant that has 3 different types of Asian foods (they have Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese). I'm assuming the person who runs it isn't Vietnamese. Food was not great and overpriced.

Not my favorite Thai restaurant. I was so excited to see a Thai menu, a Lao menu, a Japanese Menu, etc. but after tasting a number of items from the menu, it left me wishing I had gone somewhere else at least to a better Asian restaurant. I will say that the food was presented beautifully, the ambience was nice, and the service was very good. It was just the flavors that were lacking. I'm assuming that maybe it was just a bad day? But if I'm honest, I'm not sure I'd venture in again to give them another try myself in less I had a gift certificate or something. Anyway, I hate giving bad reviews of a place, but I wouldn't want someone to steer me in the wrong direction, and that's what YELP is all about anyway. Helping people to make better choices on their dining experiences!

    Shrimp fried rice

Our regular thai place was closed due to the snow so we figured we would give thai papaya a try and it will definitely be our last time going. I hate leaving bad reviews but i feel like i have to. The service was okay. It really just felt like we weren't wanted there and the food tasted fine. We ordered a to go fried rice and found a bug in it when we got home. They did apologize and give us a refund on the food we ordered to go but not on the rest of the check.

This is what you meal is supposed to have but they never added the Bean Sprouts, Lettuce or Cilantro
    Landon W.

I'm uploading two pictures. The first is a list of everything that's supposed to come with my meal. The second is what came with it. They didn't put Bean Sprouts, Lettuce, or Cilantro... which is a huge part of the meal..

Thai Spring Rolls (received when I ordered Thai Egg Rolls)

I hate to leave a bad review. Since moving to Nashville, I found this place and only ordered my Thai food from this spot. Recently, the food has been fine but the orders have been wrong. The last time, I ordered Shrimp tempura but no shrimp was in the order, only the tempura veggies. This time, I placed two separate orders (I left off the Thai egg rolls, but put in the notes that the orders were connected). I went to the restaurant. When I pointed out that I had a second order of Thai rolls, which was prepaid, I had to really prove this order. They never found it and gave me Thai spring rolls. I did not check the order before leaving. When I got to the house, I had Thai spring rolls. I called and they said to come back and they would correct them. When I arrived, they asked for the Thai spring rolls back. I told them I had a picture but did not, bring the rolls back because I had opened them. The waitress put in the order. This order was correct, the issue is she was kind of snarky and saying that I should. When I told her that this is the second time I've ordered online and it was wrong, she responded that I should just call in my order. I mentioned that it was inconvenient. They lost a customer today. The food might be good but the time wasted in proving I ordered and paid for what I ordered and paid for was just too much. Here is a picture of my incorrect order.

Been coming here for years. It's our go to for airport trips. Thai papaya salad still bomb after all these years as well as their fried rice.

I like coming with a group because if you order Japanese food, you get miso soup and a salad, but if you order Korean food, you get a ton of banchan delivered to your table. I like a bit of both, so having multiple people at my table increases my odds of sampling the whole menu. The bento boxes come with endless food: entree, generous portion of veggie and shrimp tempura, sushi roll, gyoza, rice and orange slice. Not to mention the miso soup and salad brought out before the box. My favorite is the dolsot bibimbap which comes out sizzling in a hot stone pot. This creates a crispy rice edge and keeps the dish hot the entire time you're eating. I always add a healthy amount of spicy gochujang sauce to my bowl to add warmth and depth of flavors. This makes it one of my ultimate comfort food dishes. We typically come here on a weeknight and are usually seared right away. The staff is always super welcoming and friendly.

If you're new to trying Kim Chi, make sure to try it paired with a couple types of the banchan dishes in addition to your protein and rice. Don't give up on it. It is homemade and you can tell. Keep trying it until you find a pairing you like. My youngest loves the Ton Katsu. The quality of the meat is excellent and it's juicy on the inside but perfectly crunchy on the outside. My oldest daughter absolutely loves the Tuk Kuk. In her words - "it is simple, warm, and comforting. It is well seasoned with balanced flavors and has plenty of rice cakes, an egg, and beef. There isn't one single thing to complain about." DH ordered what has to be the best of the best all time soul soothing dishes. Kim Chi Ji Gae. We've never tried it before but are determined to try more menu items from Midori. My taste of it was met with an audible groan of nothing but pure comfort and bliss. Suffice it to say I couldn't decide what I liked more between my dish and his so we clattered chopsticks as we kept going back and forth between his and mine. The staff are so, so, so courteous and helpful and they love, love, love to see people eating their homemade food with gusto. They are especially tickled when they recommend something, see you try it, and can tell that you like it. While this is not required by any stretch, it is nice to eat in such a cozy atmosphere with such nice, helpful aunties and halmeonis.

You must order the wings!!!! Sticky, sweet/spicy, juicy, and crunchy. Everything you can love about wings in one satisfying bite, the wait is worth it! We also ordered gyoza, beef pad kee mao and a pokeman go roll to sample the different Asian cuisines available on the menu. Our favorite was the Thai drunken noodles, but nothing was a miss. Although I probably wouldn't come here just for sushi, I need to come back to try all the interesting menu items like the bulgogi burger, and the Korean fried chicken sando. Our server Michelle hooked us up when we realized there was a bucket deal on drinks after we hastily ordered one beer each. She was so sweet, even though we came in near closing.
