I went one day for dinner with my roommate. The store is small and cozy. Looks sort of out dated and in need of an update. That being said the food is amazing and tasty. I enjoyed the food very much. King Noodle is on a side of town where I do not frequent but reading all the fantastic reviews, I had to try them out! Plus we had just got back from a hike and it was on the way so why not! From my views, it's kinda located in a broke down plaza or not so great area of town. It's in the same plaza as a mini convenient store where people speed up park go buy their booze or cigs and leave frantically. Anyways, their duck is good! I've had it at the temple before so coming here ordering at the restaurant did not disappoint me. Their pad Thai is good but not one of the best ones I've had. They are missing egg and bean sprouts. Ordered spring rolls and chicken pad see ew. Ate two spring rolls, had a few bites of pad see ew, and had a roach join me at my table. I went to the register and told the male server there was a roach at my table. He told, "We have them. They sprayed three days ago." He then told me my total, which I paid and left the food. I love Asian food! I go to this place at least once every two weeks. I went to lunch yesterday and can tell you they're the sweetest people with great service. They're accommodating to my diet. I had the pho hold the noodles. They don't just hand you a bowl of broth; they fill this thing full of protein! I'm sad I rushed to eat and didn't take more pictures. Very good, authentic lao food. I like to order the peaking duck here. They make it very authentic. It was a bit dry the past couple times but usually it's good. My wife and kid loves their pad Thai and yum salad. Only downfall is this restaurant is a little far from where we live. read more

Loved it! I definitely recommend it! I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes. Their tech time was very good. I had their Thai iced coffee and it was very good. I loved it very much. I also tried their beef pho. They did really good on it. The broth was very delicious, and it also had different types of meats in it (sliced raw beef, beef tendon, tripe, and meatball). They also had all of the condiments and garnish for you. I liked that a lot. I also tried their drunken noodle. It was soooooooo so good. They used fresh noodles, the char was there, and the flavor was magnificent. Service: it was good. Our server did a great job. She was very friendly, polite, and informative. The restaurant was also very clean. I liked that a lot. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. I am so glad they opened up. Normally we enjoy eating here at least once a week, but after today's experience, we can never go there again. As always I ordered my favorite-the Pad Thai. Initially, it appeared to be the same as usual. After eating about 1/2 of the serving, I felt very uneasy, so I headed straight for the restroom. Thankfully the restroom was unoccupied and the toilet seat was up. I immediately vomited everything I had just eaten. After returning to our table, I waited for my wife to finish her meal as I drank some cold water. When I paid the bill the waiter/manager asked "How ow was everything?" I explained that I threw up everything after only eating 1/2 the plate. He laughed. I paid the entire bill and walked out disappointed and disgusted. When I got home I drank some more water and ate some leftovers from our refrigerator. No issues, so obviously I expelled everything that caused this issue at the restaurant. read more

I got the jalapeño wings and pad kee mao with chicken on level 3 spice. The chicken was ok. It was more like the jalapeños and onions were cooked separately from the chicken and then just added on top. It didn't taste like they were tossed together. The pad kee mao was very good. It was the best pad kee mao I've had in a long time. Spice level 3 was pretty average to me as well. I could go for a 4 next time. read more

This review is for the three times I've eaten here at King Noodles. The first time I had my go-to Thai restaurant dish, Pad Thai with chicken. It was SO good! It was the best I've ever had and I've had it many times from CA to CO to TN. The amount of sauce was perfect and it was perfectly spiced at my request of level 3. I had the Thai Iced tea each time. It is delicious! The second time I had pad Thai because I usually give in and not order something else even though I want to try something else. I dined in all three times and the service was perfect! You get an ice cold pitcher of water every time. I nice touch. Again the pad Thai was so so good! I think about this place, this food, a couple times a week so I went last night and this time I got the drunken noodles. Oh my goodness it was amazing! It was saucy, had generous chicken pieces and mushrooms. The carrots, onion and green pepper pieces were impressive. It has Thai basil in it and that takes this dish over the top! The wide, thin noodles are what this dish had and should have. Chef's kiss! My dining buddy had pad see ew The prices are very reasonable, the portions are big, the restaurant is clean and the temp of the food was hot! The owner/chef came out to see how we liked his creations and we enjoyed talking to him! People say the location is iffy. It is perfect. It's across from Publix and next to an oriental market. I'm not sure what people expect but some of the best food is prepared in places like this and it's certainly true here. I don't write many reviews but this place is worthy of the time. Tried King Noodles Thai Restaurant on 3/13 at 3pm. The location is across the street from Publix on south Rutherford where Pho viet used to be. Not a customer in there. Owner was very sweet. Had some questions about an ingredient in a dish,she was happy to replace it with an alternative . Ordered a Thai tea to drink. It was good. Not super sweet like other places. Ordered Pho beef, Ginger jalapeños salt pepper chicken wings, a side of Lao spicy tomato sauce and sticky rice. -Pho beef was great. Had sliced beef, beef tendon, beef tripe and meat balls. More of a Thai/Lao style pho. Had good flavor without condiments added. Added hoisin, lime and sriracha to my liking of sour and hot. Good amount of beef and noodles. Was actually full off of that, had to take the wings home. Lol - ginger Jalapeños salt pepper wings were fire! Came out hot and crispy. Were very juicy. Very good flavor. I ordered a side of Lao tomato dipping sauce and sticky rice. Not super hot,but it was packed full of flavor. Take a bite of the wings, dip your sticky rice in to the sauce , and enjoy the flavors together! I'll be back again to try some of the other dishes! read more

So why am I the hold out at four stars when everyone else rated this place five, you may ask. Because it is very good, I only tried one dish and I am comparing it to the previous business, Pho Viet. Pho Viet was the previous restaurant in the suite. I will talk about the Pho, decor, service and value Food is fun for me. I am not a gourmet chef but kick out some amazing dishes, so I'm told. A local news magazine suggested Pho Viet when they opened and I felt it was the best Pho ever. They closed due to the pandemic and I was very disappointed to find their door locked, but delighted to see the changes. The pho was excellent but not as great as I remember. One important factor here is that King Noodles makes their own broth. Too many places make broth from powder or concentrate. I could tell that the broth was made fresh because of the tiny, appropriate liquid nodules of fat floating on the edge. NO! it was not a fatty greasy dish. Broth made from powder or concentrate lack this feature. Broth is the key to great pho. Broth from Northern Vietnam tends to be light in color. This was lighter than the previous establishment. I was wonderful. I just miss the southern version. Darker colors a richer and result from roasting the bones, and vegetables as well as cooking the broth longer. The one time I made my own broth, it took 18 hours, which is typical. I like darker, more flavor foods such as strong coffee, dark liquors, rich chili broth, etc. Basil leaf condiment was crisp and fragrant. There was an intneresting thing about the noodles. They were not lengthy. Learning from a native, I play with correct technique of eating the noodles by lifting them out of the bowl and lowering them into a pile on the spoon. These noodles were too short and deprived me of that game. Oh, well. I think the meatballs in the beef pho were not homemade and the slices of beef were predictably over cooked. Inside, the place was very pretty and much cleaner that I remember. Nice decorations on the wall and around the place added to the experience. Asian background music topped it all off. My server was attentive, polite an pleasant. The price was consistent with expectations, but the other grumpy old man was not happy when he paid his bill. He demanded an item by item accounting of the amount, which was not out of line. The cashier politely pointed out the prices printed on the menu. His reaction was, "Well, THAT will never happen again and he withheld the tip. It was interesting, though as the woman he was with was VERY knowledgeable about pho, made her own and we compared recipes. read more

I got their Pad Thai which is always the dish that I get when I go to a new Thai joint. I thought it could've been a lot better considering the reviews of this place most of which look really good. My order of Shrimp Lad Na was awful. Sauce was slimy, noodles were stuck together, literally just clumps of starchy noodles hidden under the slimy sauce. The shrimp were unpleasant and fishy. The gentleman (the only person that was working in the dinning area) was rude when i asked about the sauce and noodles. He said, "That's the way it's made, ours is traditional." Sure it is, with slimy sauce and overcooked noodles and shrimp that taste of fish. QaFollowed by, "you orderd it I don't know what to tell you." No apology, or can i get you something else. King Noodle recently opened, and I was able to stop by to try them out. I was glad to see, despite the name, they had a full variety of Thai and Lao dishes. I ordered a staple Tom Kha chicken to try. It had a light flavor of the coconut milk accented well by the Thai herbs and cilantro. For my main dish I chose the Massaman curry chicken. I chose it level 2, on a scale of 1-5, and the flavor came through without the heat. If you like your food spicy, I would recommend 3 and up. The rich and creamy Massaman curry is definitely the focal point of the dish as it blended perfectly with the potatoes, onion, and chicken. If I changed one thing it would be to cook the carrots longer to soften them up, but that is merely due to personal preference. I will definitely return to try more of their selections in the near future. The staff were friendly and attentive for a recently opened restaurant and the food was brought out promptly. The Pho was delicious. So fresh! Pad Thai was ok but I ordered it with 0 degree of spicy hot, and there were hot pepper flakes all over it. Then I took a bite of the fresh lime and nearly burnt my mouth. It's like the limes were packed in hot pepper oil or something. It's still burning my lip 2 hours later. Won't go back there for anything but the Pho, especially since it's kinda expensive as well. The ginger chicken dish also had red pepper flakes in it but not as bad as the pad Thai. read more
