Had lunch at Thai Spice. Service overall was friendly and timely. Small restaurant with a low-key ambience. We had wonton soup, chicken, skewers, and fresh spring rolls. The wonton soup was very tasty. Among the best I've ever had. The fresh spring rolls were delicious. They had two proteins, pork and shrimp & definitely a hit. The chicken skewers on the flip-side were a little bit dry. And honestly kind of small, especially for the price. Food overall genuinely good. Thai Spice, I'll cut to the chase, one of the best pad thais in Murfreesboro! I have nothing bad to say about it. The only other menu itek I got was the crab Rangoon, which were an odd piece. They had a good taste, but their outer crust was too thick in my opinion, I'd rather a lighter crust but the taste was fine. Took a little bit for us to receive our food but nothing too crazy. Thai Spice is a decent Thai Restaurant with a nice menu. I have eaten here once before and enjoyed most of what I had ordered. Today I had the wonton soup and the Chicken Satay. I loved the soup, I just felt cheated because though the flavor was good. It only had two wonton (1 and 1/2 really) in the entire bowl. I wanted like 6 and would have paid for them. Just left me feeling a little ripped off. The chicken Satay was good too. I enjoyed the peanut sauce, just wish there was some curry in it to kick it up a notch. I have ordered panang from Thai Spice about 12 times but today will be the last. The food is ok but the spice level is unpredictable. I typically order 2 or 3 at other Thai restaurants but here I order a 1 and it is either not hot at all or incredibly hot. I never know what I will get. Tonight I have finally decided not to take the chance anymore and will drive farther away to get a meal I can eat. My panang was very spicy tonight - I almost couldn't not eat it, and it is kind of expensive to throw away. When I opened the container when I got home, it was screaming red... it should not be. Since moving to Murfreesboro in January 2020 I noticed a great diversity of ethnic foods which excited me. I like Thai but my spouse does not. I was on my own for dinner this evening so I thought what a great opportunity to try a Thai place. Thai Spice was near where I was shopping so I decided to give it a try. I glanced over the reviews and saw some loved it and some not so much. As always I approached this business open minded hoping to be impressed. I only had the choice of take out due to Covid 19 which I would have done anyway. I didn't see drunken noodle on the menu which is my go to so I ordered the closest thing I could find Pad Kee Mao. The young man told me he would bring it to my vehicle so I went out and waited. I like Thai food for the same reason I like Indian food. It's full of flavors and colors. It's pleasing to of smell and sight as well as taste. When I got home opened the bag with no utensils or napkins. No worries I have those. I did not worry about asking for sauces or spices because good Thai or Indian shouldn't need them in my opinion. However I should have. The meal had the sight sense with color but lacked in smell as I did not smell onion and basil which is important. Now most importantly taste. I was disappointed as it was bland. The main flavor was heat and saltiness. The heat was not as hot as I've ordered from other establishments. They have heat levels of 1-5 and I ordered 5 and told them prepare it like you would eat it. Even very spicy Thai should be robust with other flavors but sadly they were missing. Will I give it another try? Probably not. But don't let me dissuade you from trying. I have gone to multiple places here trying to find the best restaurant in town, and I finally found my absoulte favorite place to dine in! It is delicious and even my husband agree that the pad thai was great, and he's not even a big fan of pad thai. The only dish that fell short for me was their papaya salad.. I didn't care too much for it, since it did not taste that great to me. One main reason why I had rate it 4 stars instead of 5 was the fact that they were understaffed. There was only one waitress/host. And the wait time to get our food was longer than most places I have gone to. (At the end I didn't mind, because the food was sooo worth the wait.) If they could fix these minor kinks and bring out the food in a more timely manner, and have the servers come check up on you here and there, this place would deserve a 5 star rating! Before we left, the chef gave us free coconut bakery desserts! They were delicious! (Note: Their food is a little more pricey compared to other thai/lao restaurants, but it is so worth it! I've been curious. It is not in my neighborhood, so I never planned a special trip there. Now, maybe I will. For dinner, I ordered the BBQ pork with wanton noodle soup. I loved it! All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The pork was great. Most important of all is that the soup broth was not salty. Because I am diabetic, I rarely order the Thai Tea. I may come back here for theirs because it is not too sweet. They avoided Southern Thai Tea. Light and airy, the place almost has a fast food joint feel. Do not let that affect your choice. Tables are Spartan. There are nice wall decorations, especially the restroom sign. It has male, female, and an alien figure on it. When family travels to Thailand, they bring back decorations. Staff was very attentive. Of course, because she was the daughter of the owner. She implored me to come back. I'd like to and may. Very friendly ladies bringing me my food. We decided to give this place another try last night because we wanted take out and it is the closest thai food near us. Our first visit wasn't bad, but I really didn't like their curry and wouldn't order it again. On our second visit, I ordered the pad thai with tofu, my husband ordered the general tso tofu again, and we each got a veggie spring roll. I really liked the pad thai! Next time I will probably order it without abundance of onions but the flavor was good and the portion was decent. I do wish the tofu was cut into larger pieces. The general tso tofu was so good in my opinion. My husband thought it was too sweet and donut-like. After a few bites, I had to agree with him. The breading tasted just like a Chinese donut without the sugar exterior. I wasn't complaining! However, it really may have been too sweet to eat an entire entree of. He didn't finish his (we switched plates at the end). The veggie spring roll and dipping sauce were as good as they were on our first visit. Went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, got here around 12:30. No one else in the restaurant, nice and quiet. I am not very familiar with Thai food and this was my first time here. I order chicken pad kee mao, they do ask how much spice I want from 1-4. I asked for 3, being pretty fond of spicy food. The other 4 people with me order a variety of things as well as drinks. First of all while we are waiting on the food I finish my drink. No refill is offered (it is stated on the menu refills are free for my drink). My drink was never refilled the rest of the time there, huge no no for me. Food gets there... Intermittently. One person's here, one person's there. Somewhat understandable in a small kitchen but also annoying. The pad kee mao was AMAZING. Great taste, texture, the level three of spice was perfect for me. No complaints for the food. The food itself was pretty good. I got chicken pad thai (my go to) and there was a pretty generous serving. I left stuffed. Their lunch special is 7.99 for the dish and a spring roll. The service was off. There was one person, and she was all over the place. When I asked for no eggs or bean sprouts in my dish, her response was said in a very annoyed toned. My favorite restaurant in Murfreesboro. Lots of vegan options. Tofu green curry is my go to choice, and is always delicious.

The food is incredible. The service is wonderful. Staff is very kind. 4/5 stars because there's no music, which wouldn't be a big deal but the food is very spicy, and when people eat spicy food their noses start to run, and when there's no music playing you can become super conscious of how many sniffly people are sitting around you. That's my only complaint though. If you like Thai, this place is great. read more

Stopped in for dinner after a long day. The food was good. I ordered the teriyaki chicken but the waitress let me know a few minutes later that they were out. So went with swarms chicken. It was probably the best sesame chicken I have ever had. I ordered a pina colada bubble tea to go. I had never had one and I can tell you it was a Pleasant surprise it had these little gel bubbles in the bottom and it was like a creamy custard piña colada flavor with a huge straw. This is definitely a restaurant that you cannot go wrong with the food is good the waitstaff is pleasant and professional and the kitchen is quick and the prices are wonderful 99% of everything is under 10 Dollars, great place for lunch or dinner. read more
