In yesterday for a second time. Similarly to the last visit, the guys behind the counter were either chin masked or no mask at all. Disappointing and potentially dangerous... This would be five stars otherwise, as the selection of meats, veggies, spices, seafood is all great! Staff is friendly and helpful too. BUT -- in comparison to Southern Steer, where mask wearing is being taken seriously by staff, we are just not comfortable shopping here until Covid is no longer an active threat to our health. read more

This has become my favorite butcher shop to buy all of my meat, from chicken breast to beef to pork chops to fish! We are staying on Anna Maria Island, and it is worth the trip every week. Not only are cuts of meat fresh and delicious when prepared but the gentlemen on the other side of the counter are friendly, knowledgeable, funny and engaging. They charge $14.99/lb for tritip, which is fine until you get home to realize, unpack your meat and see that the side that side that is not displayed is all thick fat cap. When 1/3 of what you bought is useless hard fat that won't render, that a ripoff. read more

As as far as Bradenton is concerned there is probably nowhere better to buy exquisitely cut quality meats the deli is exceptional fish and you can maybe do a little better forecast but for in town it's probably the best around their beef pork chicken top notch every time read more

Such a unique little grocery store. Residents of Bradenton are lucky to have this specialty market located in the community. We are from Iowa. Their advertising in community papers showed that they have Iowa beef and pork. That enticed us to visit them. We bought some smoked pork chops, which were not from Iowa; however, they were as good as the best we've ever had! Next time, we will purchase some Iowa meats! The butcher and fresh fish sections were extensive and so clean. In their deli section, we found ham salad. I haven't had this in 40 years. My mom used to grind her own. It was always my favorite sandwich. This salad spread was every bit as good as I remember hers! The stocked shelves appeared to have many unique items from the local area. I look forward to returning to the Chop Shop to find more interesting items to purchase. The butchers and store clerks were very helpful and friendly. read more
