Parking lot is very crowded, however their baked goods, and fresh cakes make it worth it! I have been here to buy their Flan, it's very fresh, and you can't beat the price. They also have other baked goods such as cookies, bread, donuts etc.. There is another side of the store where they sell groceries, meats, and some food. I have yet to try it since I have only been here to get their Flan, but will be coming back to check out their other products. read more

Delicious and nostalgic. Lots of food. The taqueria inside was I ordered the green chilaquiles which came with rice and beans. Got some tamales from the supermarket and my fiancé (who'd never had Mexican tamales) was amazed. There's also a panadería next door which took me right back to my childhood. Must visit! read more

We were out on the south side of the bridge and decided to checkout this Mexican supermarket with a cafeteria inside for lunch. Here are my ratings only for the cafeteria portion of the supermarket: Quality of food: okay. We ordered different kinds of empanadas and tacos for food. The language barrier here is pretty big. Even after a lot of finger pointing and head-nodding, the type of empanadas we received were not what we ordered. The tacos were lacking flavor and not very well seasoned. Décor: typical. Acapulco is first a supermarket and then a food cafeteria. You have to walk through kind of a maze to find the cafeteria and there isn't much of a signage/décor/vibe to the place. Cleanliness: okay. The tables were mostly clean but that might have been because the guests were trying not to be messy. I didn't notice the tables being actively cleaned by the staff. Service: okay. As mentioned previously, you really need to know Spanish to feel invited or to have your order being placed correctly. There is nobody that speaks English behind the counter. It was very hard to order things and even after a lot of finger-pointing, we didn't receive what we ordered. Price: low. The tacos and empanadas were pretty cheap. I know that there are better places to get your taco and empanadas fix so I would skip Acapulco for something better next time. read more

The staff was certainly not very helpful and they were not that excited on helping an obvious outsider the ins & outs of trying to place a "simple" taco lunch order. Certainly not what we expected, some kindness & helpful explanation would've been much appreciated. Review is only regarding the restaurant: I stopped in during a vacation in the area after seeing all the great Yelp reviews. I really expected to like this place - it resembles a favorite of mine back home (El Burrito Mercado in St Paul's West Side neighborhood), but left here feeling disappointed. My family (including kids) tried a variety of items and meats - tacos, quesadilla, chimichanga, and burrito; chicken, carnitas, barbacoa. But none of us were really wowed by any of it. The barbacoa was mostly gristle. The burrito and chimichanga were genuinely enormous, but the chimi was just sopping with oil inside and out, and covered with a sour cream/queso fresco topping that was way less appetizing than it sounds. The rice and beans were the only thing I truly enjoyed, I think. The best part might have been watching the tortilla machine at work, which was kind of mesmerizing. read more

Inside the store was a great little eatery with everything from chicharones to pork chile verde. We will be back to explore this place further. I did not know what real tacos tasted like until I moved to Bradenton and ate here and at the many taco trucks in the area. This is a large Mexican grocery store that has a café in the back that makes some of the best tacos I have ever had. If you don't dare to go to the trucks for tacos, then this is the air conditioned hotspot for you. There are only four tables, so it is best to get takeout. The café has a long row of steel troughs of climate controlled food behind glass for you to press you nose against. First there is a cold food counter that has many salad and ceviche items to choose from with seasonal fruits and seafood. The hot items are things like fried whole fish, potato balls filled with seasoned ground meat, shredded pork, beef in chili sauce, etc. They also have buttered rice and beans. On the other side of the register is a cold counter with desserts such as flan, leche cake, and rice pudding. All of their flour and corn tortillas are fresh and made in house, sold by the pound. You can watch them make them and cook them on a conveyor belt behind the juice counter. They also sell their amazing guacamole and red chili sauce. Another heated counter with slabs of 3-foot-long chicharones (fried pork skin), large slabs of dry rubbed beef ribs, and whole rotisserie chickens (falling apart they are so tender). And, the fresh juice counter (aguas frescas) with four (seasonal) amazing juices to choose from($1.50 for a large), such as watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, mango, tamarind, strawberry and horchata. Horchata is sweet rice milk spiced with cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg over ice. It is great to drink with spicy foods. They sell a whole rotisserie chicken, with a quart of chili sauce, and a pound of tortillas for $5.99 (enough for a family of four). Last but not least their tacos! All tacos come with a side of lime and red chili sauce. There is a list of about ten different meats to choose from, such as sliced beef, stewed beef in chili sauce, shredded pork, chopped pork, chicken, fried pork skin, and tongue. There are two styles of tacos that you can order Tacos Mexicanos ($1.50 each), your choice of meat on a corn tortilla with minced onion, cilantro, and a side of lime. The other is the American Style ($2.00 each) loaded up with a bunch of aside from your choice of meat like lettuce, slice avocado, sour cream, and crumbed cheese on a flour tortilla. I prefer the Mexican style tacos, since that is the most authentic and you can taste the meat with the herbs and onion together. Their Chicken Tacos Mexicanos are actually quite healthy and are on my diet (4 points each). Top it off with a squeeze of lime and some hot chili sauce, fresh watermelon juice ($1.50), and a tub of guacamole ($3.99). I'm so hungry right now! read more

I can't believe the fish I ordered was so big and it was two of them and not even one. I think it could have been shared by at least 3 or 4 people. They have different types of Mexican food, but what threw me off was no menu. Just the signs hanging with pics and title of the orders. There were lines of people waiting, but that flew. You could see some of their prepared food, but much of it you couldn't. I enjoyed my experience. The food was very good! The grocery store has many tropical fruit, veggies, a butcher shop as well. Thank you TripAdvisor and Yelp for leading us to this tiny gem! Needed a quick en route lunch spot before heading to Siesta Beach and this was highly rated as a feasible lunch spot. Yes was a bit weary at first because of some reviews about cleanliness and it being a market but so glad we went ahead and gave it a go! Got here, part of our family went in. Ordered the huge 2lb meat, tortillas, Spanish rice and the most amazing Pico de Gallo! That sauce made the meal and what do you know? This fed our family of 7 with leftovers! So yum! Great fresh tortillas and nice charred meat. A bit on the tasteless and chewy side but hey that's what the Pico is for! But they gave us so much meat!! And watch out for that salsa! So all week I went back and forth from all my different food delivery apps and #Ubereats is providing free delivery for small businesses so I found this place that had tacos for $1.49, quesadillas for $2.99, and a whole rotisserie chicken for only $4.99 so I got 4 tacos, a quesadilla, and a chicken delivered with a tip for about $20! I was proud because every time I order I end up spending over $30 on barely any food! So anyway I thought I probably would have no toppings and a small quesadilla but I was so wrong, my tacos were LOADED with toppings, and my quesadilla was probably the biggest quesadilla I ever ordered in my life! And it was packed full of steak & cheese!! I ate half of the quesadilla & was full but then finally found some wonderful lighting (in my bathroom..) and took some pics! read more

We only had the tacos, but they were truly great. It's like a small deli counter in the rear of a Mexican supermarket that serves out some authentic Mexican food. Yup. The neighborhood is not that great. Yup. We were the only ones not Mexican during a busy lunch hour. If you can get over that, you're in for a treat. Not only was the meats in the taco, fresh, flavorful and nicely presented. They hand make the tortillas and we watched the show as we waited for our tacos. The beef and chicken were both excellent and they double up on the tortilla. We had six tacos and bought a container of fresh pico de gallo for 2.00. A whopping 10 bucks and lots of food. Third time and this place remains consistent! I had a steak Chimichanga this time and when I opened the container I had the "stank-face" because it looked like some sort of white cream sauce on top. I had an incredible lunch yesterday at a little Latin market in Bradenton, Supermarket Acapulco Tropical. I have stopped in for random odd and ends in the past, but never tried their hot food line. They had quite a few different offerings, but we were in the mood for tacos and they did not disappoint. We got there at 11:40 and within 10 minutes of being there, they had a line 10 people deep. They only offer a few tables, so it can and did end up standing room only. I tried the barbacoa, chorizo, pastor, and carnitas tacos. We assumed they were smaller tacos, but we were wrong. We should have went with 3, but they were so tasty we could not leave the 4th taco behind. They offered their tacos Mexican or American style. Mexican style was with onion and cilantro only while American was with lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, and cheese. We chose American style for our tacos and they were very reasonably priced, $10 for 4 tacos and and drink. Overall we really enjoyed our lunch. The food was outstanding, but don't expect a fancy place or even a spot to sit down if they are busy. Awesome little hidden gem if you are in the mood for tacos! read more

Absolutely delicious. Had the chicharrones con salsa verde (pork skin and salsa verde) and it was fantastic. Compared to the usual fried pork skins, this is soft and rich. I had a side of ensalada de nopales- cactus salad- and I am in love. Tons of cilantro and has a distinct, addictive flavor. I'd suggest getting food to go- this place was PACKED, but there are tons of authentic, tasty, inexpensive options that range from tacos al pastor to tamales made of ear.
