My friend and I had a great time exploring Concord and ended up having dinner at Chopbox. Our server was Helena, she was amazing and on it. We were here on a Sunday evening and it wasn't too busy at all. The restaurant itself is really cute with a nice vibe and atmosphere. I ordered the spring rolls that came with two per order. They were so good I ordered a second batch after my dinner. My main entree was the teriyaki steak and mushroom with noodles and it was delicious. I ate all of it and my 2 orders of egg rolls. I am disappointed in my experience. I left an event in the area. Parked in the garage around the block. There was no one there at the time so I didn't think my order would be messed up. The staff seemed friendly however a little distracted. I reviewed the menu and ordered hibachi chicken no mushroom sub for zucchini. I also got the cream cheese wontons. I don't live close so got it to go and headed out. Got home ready to dig in and what was there. Lots of mushrooms. It was a 40+ minute drive so I tried to call but they were closed or didn't answer. I left a message on the voicemail. The wontons were good and fresh. Very disappointed since there was literally no other guest there , how my order could be messed up. I literally asked to remove mushrooms and sub for zucchini. They just added zucchini for to the order. I had to find something else to eat since the order was messed up and it was too far to turn around. I take responsibility for not opening the bag and checking before I did that long drive home. Not sure if I will return because if it can be messed up with no one there, I wonder what it is like when they are busy. People have food allergies and sensitivities. I love...love...love this place!!! The service was great and our food was hot and tasty. The restaurant was filled with friends, families and there was no problem with babies being there. The ones we saw were at peace. The restaurant isn't fancy and that doesn't matter. It was clean, we were waited on in a timely manner and the food was delicious. Third visit--and unfortunately, my last. The first time here was excellent, and while the second visit was disappointing, I decided to give it one more try. This time confirmed that I won't be returning. Upon arrival, there was little to no greeting. After being handed a menu, I was immediately asked what I wanted to order, which felt rushed. After placing my drink order, I noticed a staff member walk over to a table by the window and begin eating. It appeared they were using a guest table, and I did not observe any handwashing afterward, which raised concerns. When the food arrived, the quality was equally disappointing. The carrots were cold, the chicken pieces were extremely dry and very small, and the broccoli was undercooked and hard. It's unfortunate, because with the outdoor seating added during the Downtown Concord renovations, this place has a lot of potential. It was a random trip to stop by here but it did not disappoint! Our waitress Helena was so great. She gave us great recommendations based off what we wanted. They were out of a few things but she let us know that in advance before we got our hopes high. I much we really appreciated. My pho was so flavorful it was just what I needed. The dry chicken tasted like it was made hours before, the customer service was terrible, the online menu doesn't match what you get, etc. I love local business and try to support them but you are better off at a Sogo or a heck, even the Carolina mall court Asian food. This was my second visit to Chopbox. Neither visit was a great experience. Our food was just okay (Crab Rangoons, Sushi Rolls, Pho). However, we ordered a hibachi salmon plate for our kids to share and the rice was absolutely inedible, some rice was undercooked while other parts were literally mush to the point you couldn't even distinguish individual grains of rice. I would never choose to eat here again. I used the bathroom after our meal. Not sure if the restaurant or the building is responsible for them but they were rough. Not all stalls have working locks. It was very dirty, honestly don't want to get into the details. Lastly, the soap was so watered down I couldn't get bubbles to form when washing my hands. Just a no overalls. We went to Chopbox Asian cuisine located in downtown Concord. The pho was delicious. This place has only been open for about three months so at this time they are still waiting on the liquor license. The restaurant was clean and the staff were somewhat attentive. There is space for sitting but, I did notice people ordering food for take out. Hopefully the liquor license will come in soon. This is an easy place to eat in Concord. You seat yourself, and the prices are affordable. We ordered the Vegetable pho, Vegetable spring rolls and Teriyaki meal. We enjoyed it-- I also sampled the Vietnamese tea-- which I liked but they don't have honey so I didn't get any. I've only tried one dish, a vegetable/chicken medley with noodles. I've lived in places with very good Asian food so I've been spoiled. This food was poorly prepared, with mushy vegetables and noodles in a sad little sauce. But the wait staff was very accommodating, so no complaints there. I got the food as takeout, tried a few bites at home, and trashed 95% of it. Fresher produce, cooked properly would step this up a lot. It's a shame, really. read more

After calling but getting no answer, I returned again with my receipt/food and showed the owner the hair. He immediately denied it was his and called me a LIAR! After a few minutes of waiting, he refused my full refund and only returned half. His behavior was disrespectful, rude and a disgrace to Downtown Concord! My husband and I are Concord locals and finally came in to have some dinner at Chop Box on the Saturday after Valentine's Day and we are so glad we did. It wasn't very busy, seat yourself sign was up and we were greeted by two lovely gals at the bar when we walked in to sit down. We were given menus quickly, the selection is short and sweet but there's decent variety still, not like most places that have way too many choices to pick from. The food was good, though the vegetables and chicken did have a good bit of unexpected char. It was just on the edge of burnt. The service was mediocre. There was only one other table seated and yet my drink managed to end up empty. That was probably due to the single server who seemed more interested in talking to some gentleman that came into the restaurant. After I went up with my empty glass to have her refill it, she immediately rushed to my table with her mobile pay device and pushed it towards me asking was I ready to pay. I said sure and she decided to share with me that she was almost off work and was getting a new tattoo when she got off. The atmosphere was upbeat and modern, radio playing modern hits. The food didn't stand out in any exceptional way. The waitress needs to learn to focus on her customers. I could understand if she were packed, but two tables should be able to receive more of her focus. I stopped here on an impulse while down town. I doubt I will ever visit again. I could have gotten better food and service at E Noodles on Afton', which is my usual go to for quality Asian cuisine, not to mention ACTUAL service. I ordered the chicken pho, on initial presentation of ingredients it looked very promising, I ordered the chicken pho and the shrimp and broccoli no rice extra veggies with were carrots, mushrooms, zucchini and onions. The raw veggies served with the pho were fresh which included; mint, jalapeño slice , onions, cilantro..even the bean sprouts all looked really good. The only thing that threw me off was the chicken and not only was it extremely dry.. it had a after taste and there's was a smell to it the following day. I thought maybe I was just being picky in that moment so I saved half the bowl and ingredients for the next day properly stored... and the chicken was still giving that old I cleaned chicken taste. Ultimately I had to take the chicken out of the bowl and eat it just as veggie pho. I ended up taking out the carrots from my shrimp and broccoli bowl, they were severely undercooked. The zucchini and onions were cooked well. I did attempted to warm my carrots and letting them cook in the microwave in the broth didn't finish cooking them so unfortunately I had to toss those too. After I removed the chicken, from the "chicken pho " I enjoyed a shrimp pho using the shrimp and broccoli from the other dish I ordered, leaving that dish deconstructed to just onions, mushroom and zucchini left .
