I love sushi, & Kung Foo Noodle has some of the best in the area. The Lemon drop roll is my favorite. Since I normally get take out, this time I dined in & to my pleasant surprise, they serve chicken wings. I ordered some of those this go round as well as the rolls. I used to come here frequently about 5 years ago but the quality has gone down since then. The quality of the beef in the Lo Mein and the pork in the tonkotsu was not good. The flavor of the broth in the ramen was also not as flavorful as before. Also, my friend asked for a shoyu egg but got a regular boiled egg instead. Otherwise, the place has very cute decor and despite being small has a decent amount of seats including a back area with additional seating. The service was also decent and efficient. read more

This go round of Kung Foo Noodle wasn't as good as my first, but I will say this visit was a Doordash order so I'm not gonna hold it against them too much. I ordered the double dragon roll, yuzu paradise roll, and crab rangoon. The double dragon roll was great, the other one was just okay and the crab rangoon was downright not good. It wasn't that they were too soft or anything since they were delivered. The filling just wasn't tasty, sadly. I think I will stick to non sushi options when I go to this spot. We went on a Friday night and were surprised at how crowded it was. We were told it'd be about a 40 minute wait but it was actually much shorter. The place is pretty small and honestly I thought the menu was as well. I really wanted ramen and haven't found a place that I'm truly impressed with. I chose this place due to the high Yelp reviews. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing ? I was not impressed. I got the Hong Kong Noodles with thin noodles and additional veggies ($13.50). It came with pork, chicken, and shrimp in a broth but it was absolutely flavorless. I took about 5 bites/ sips of the soup and asked for a to go container so that I could take it home and fix it. I added hoisin sauce, chili paste, coconut milk, and curry when I got home and it was much better. I also ordered shrimp tempura sushi ($6) and it was fine. The restaurant entrance is cute and the decor inside is interesting with anime posters. The seating is those cheap, hard, metal chairs... so not very comfortable. I came for lunch and every table was full of mostly young people in their 20s. I wouldn't hurry back. But perhaps a different soup would have more flavor. No outdoor seating. I ordered the Summer Roll with grilled pork, Pork Belly and the Chinese BBQ wings. The Summer Roll had absolutely no flavor. The Pork Belly was like eating an over cooked pork chop-honestly the worst I ever had. The only savory item was the Chinese BBQ wings. I am shocked that they have such great reviews. Got take out and it was fast and easy. The chicken pad see yew was way more flavorful than what it looks. I was concerned at first that it would be bland by the looks. But it was packed with flavor. This place is great! It is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte! The prices are reasonable as well. I have been here many times and I have always received great food and service! They specialize in noodle soups so I usually stick to them when I order. They have good appetizers and sushi as well, however. So for appetizers they have great wings - large and very crispy! They also have wontons and dumplings. I usually get the sushi by the piece - a great bargain as some are$2.50 each and others are $2 each. I love their eel Nigiri sushi and the Yellowtail Nigiri. They have Bahn Mi sandwiches, Bao Bao and several other items on the menu as well such as stir fried noodle dishes, rice bowls and fried rice. OK, now for some specific recommendations. For wings I really like the Thai Basil, Sesame Chili Garlic and Salt & Pepper wings. Under small plates the Spicy Wontons and Dumplings are very good. For soups, all of them are fantastic but I really like the Lan Zhou, Curry Kick, and HotPot (very spicy!). They say their customer favorite is Curry Kick and I see why - it is outstanding! And finally, the food was just bland across-the-board. Everything about this experience was just so boring. The edimame is a good example of what I'm talking about. This sushi place is in a really beautiful area with lots of outdoor seating, games, and green spaces! The menu is pretty awesome with such a variety of different things. Everything from Sushi to street food to wings and noodles! I had to drop them down a star or two, because although the sushi was presented beautifully, it lacked flavor big time! We used to live in hville. Ate here quite often. After we moved I craved the lo mein. Nothing compared to it, no matter where we went. So when my wife was back in the area today and I couldn't wait for her to bring home some= stoked!!! I managed to get some down but threw out the rest. Hers didn't get more than a couple bites in. The lo mein was NOTHING like it had been before. It was pure fishy and that's not how beef is supposed to taste. No good sear on the fish-beef stuff (just grey meat goo color) , no scallions, no onions, nothing that made it killer. Now it's all sadly just trash. So lucky I found this place by accident while attending the noon years eve event in Birkdale today. We walked in and were seated right away, quite a cozy little space. Luckily we beat the crowd that came in shortly after us, around noon. Okay, now let's get to the food. I ordered Crab Rangoon, shrimp tempura Maki, pork belly boa (not sure if I'm spelling that correctly), chili garlic wings, and bacon fried rice. Everything was absolutely delicious, I didn't care for the pork belly taco thingy because it was really fatty and chewy, but I understand that could just be my palette, it was still yummy. My picky 7-year-old tried the Maki roll (which is way out of his element) and said he liked it, he also really enjoyed the bacon fried rice and the wings! I also ordered the Mango Boba, which was yummy as well. The food was reasonably priced. I'll definitely come back to try some more things! read more

My go to sushi spot when I'm in Charlotte! The noodle soup is top notch!! They also have reasonable prices for high quality food.

Have been 2x now and both have been such good meals! The food is fresh, flavorful and there is a pretty solid variety. The restaurant is a bit small if you have a party but for 2-4 people you're fine most times. Keep in mind that this location is inside Birkdale village so it gets BUSY at night/weekends. Huge fan of the wings - the garlic ones are too DIE for. (Save the garlic for your ramen, thank me later). The tofu dumplings and the sauce that comes with it are also sooo good. The Tonkostu, Spicy Chicken Miso, Lan Zhou & Curry ramen are all WINNERS. I will say I wasn't a big fan of the tofu summer rolls, just a bit bland for me but the sauces it comes with are great. And I'm personally not a fan of bao but the sliders were a cool concept. Great value meal, can't go wrong. read more
