Decided to Yelp this last minute as We were starving after going on a date to the Lazy 5 Ranch. You can never go wrong with Asian. I'm obsessed with their food and culture tremendously!! This place received excellent reviews and seemed star worthy, so we went. As soon as we walked in, the young ladies at the front were smiling, friendly and professional. But the food was not what I expected. Some sushi rolls didn't have much of a taste which seemed very odd to me. Then some were really good. Crab rangoons were literally nothing special, so wouldn't get those again. I am not sure if we would return. If we did, I would only try the Ramen next. read more

We tried Eatabowl on a Saturday around noon-1:00. It's in a mixed use building (love that). Very friendly greetings from hosts and quickly taken to a table. You see the ice cream and boba first but we didn't try that this time, even though the ones we saw go out looked really good with tons of boba pearls. Our server was friendly and efficient. I had the Hong Kong Wonton bowl and it was as good as I had hoped it would be. Chewy thin egg noodles, plump dumplings and flavorful broth. My compatriots both had Singapore noodles with chicken. First time at this location but I've been to the old location many years ago. Food is almost as good as before. Enjoyed the shrimp pad thai but wish it could've been spicier or I had the choice to ask for it to be spicier. The Singapore noodles was very good. Lots of flavor and the curry was very mild. Husband's wok hei rice noodles wasn't what he expected - he thought it would be long noodles - but he enjoyed it too. The soup noodles, dumplings and sushi were great as well. I had hot ginger tea that was already sweetened. It was very sweet. I would not have ordered it had I known that it came that way. I drink my teas, hot or cold, unsweetened so I did not finish it. Service was outstanding. The place was busy but we got our food quickly. Servers were visible and available. There's no sound dampening or soft surfaces to absorb the noise so it's pretty loud esp when they're busy. This isn't a place I could sit around and have a nice conversation while enjoying the food. It's just too noisy. Next time we'll just order takeout. read more

Very quick service after ordering at the counter. I opted for sushi (hot mama roll) while my colleagues went for the hibachi bowls. Everyone was very happy with their orders, myself included. We found this place purely by chance and then again, purely by chance discovered that it is owned by the same owner who previously owned our beloved Noodletasia (closed now) and Kung Foo. When we got here we were promptly seated. The artwork on the walls is beautiful and interesting, just like it was at his other restaurants. The food was delicious! We enjoyed everything we ordered. The kids loved their sushi and dumplings. Husband and I tried a wok stir fry and a noodle bowl, both of which hit the spot. Service was quick and friendly. The server even recommended a pineapple ice cream that isn't on the menu, which we enjoyed. Parking can be tricky but not too bad. The food is always piping hot, fresh and delicious. The habachi chicken bowl is my favorite. I always order it with crunchy spring rolls cooked perfectly every time. The veggies are always fresh and al dente. We enjoy the soup dumplings and scallion chicken as well. They go above and beyond for me every time I have a to-go order of spring rolls. I have ordered to go from Eatabowl and both times the fish on the sushi roll is bad. I ordered a rainbow roll on both times and the tuna was literally brown in color. Ok, let's change our frame of mind on this being authentic Japanese cuisine and think of it as fusion and casual dining and I think you'll find yourself very happy here. The sushi isn't like the best omakase or something but it's very reasonable for mid-line. The curry noodles is a dynamite dish and there are a lot of fun noodle dishes. The service there is great. My gf and I are from Atlanta we came to Mooresville for her work trip for a week. Eatabowl easily became our go to lunch options. The staff were friendly the food was amazing and the owner recommended us some awesome dishes. We would recommend the hibachi fried rice with beef and the wok hay rice noodles with shrimp. The food was alright but nothing particularly unique or inspired.. The fried green beans came out cold, and our Xiao Long Bao came out with undercooked pork - really hoping we don't get sick or food poisoning from that! Our server offered to have the kitchen make a new one, but we were already turned off by it at that point. The setup was cool, especially the back dining area, and the bacon and kielbasa fried rice was solid. To someone reading this, Eatabowl might still be worth a visit as most of the other reviews are good and indicate our experience being a one-off rather than the norm, but it was rather disappointing for us. read more

An okay stop, but if you are hungry, these portions are not going to fill you up. Okay service and small portions, makes this an okay stop of convivence but if you have a few extra minutes there are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes of this place. While my food was okay, my wife's was still frozen in the center and nobody seemed to be interested in refilling drinks or even asking how our food was. This is a problem with cafeteria style ordering where you pay for your meal and tip before they ever provide a service, there is no incentive for them to offer any service after they have your cash, their only incentive is to get you out and free up the table for the next customer. I know I'm bucking the trend from the other reviews, but this place is nothing special. While I don't live in the area, if I find myself close in the future this is a place I can and will skip. read more

I've been here several times now, for pick up orders & one time to eat in. I typically see them on Friday evenings & they are always busy - which is a good thing! Tiny restaurant, but BIG on taste. They don't have a substantial menu (think, noodles, rice bowls, & sushi), but you will definitely find something to eat, if not more! Tommy Tong is back! After a brief absence, Tommy has opened another fantastic restaurant concept in Mooresville. The new space is in the Mill One complex, just off Main St in the heart of downtown Mooresville. The ambience is casual and fun, and the restaurant is spacious with plenty of room. The mural-style art gives a funky, urban feel to the space which feels just right. As you walk in, the host stand is in front, with tables to the left and behind. In addition to the tables, there are two other serving areas - a sushi bar mid-restaurant, and a Boba Bar to the right (plus there are plans to open a ice-cream window to the street!) We started (and coincidentally, ended the meal) with a fantastic boba tea from the BoBar. They offer multiple flavors, in green, black and oolong teas, with many boba options, not just the traditional style. We enjoyed a peach fruit tea, half sweet, with popping strawberry boba. It was delicious, and a great way to start the meal. Once seated, we dived into the appetizers - starting with the classic crab rangoons, and then Xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and a pocket sushi sampler. We also tucked into a very tasty sake flavored with apple as a light refreshment during the meal. The rangoons were great, crispy, tasty and perfect. The dumplings though, were the best I've had outside of Chinatown in Manhattan. We'll be coming back regularly just for these dumplings! The Inari (pocket sushi) was so good and unusual for this area - a small "pocket" made from a tofu batter and filled with sushi rice, then salmon, tuna and yellowtail, each with a unique sauce. Each was delicious, but the yellowtail was my favorite. We then had a sushi course - a Tommy classic, the Kaptain Krunch roll. It was wonderful, but as much as we live the rolls, the noodle bowls were that star of the show. I cant rave enough about the Wok Hei Noodle bowl, made with Cheung fun noodles. Again, not a common dish here in the Carolinas, this tasted straight out of Chinatown. Simple amazing! I can't recommend it enough. The noodle is a long flat one that is rolled up and stir-fried with a protein, sprouts, veggies and sauce. It carries the xhar of the wok beautifully. So good! We also had the shoyu veggie bowl - great option for something lighter - and the braised beef bowl. The shoyu broth was savory and sweet, served with a thin noodle and a variety of vegetables - bok choy, carrots, green beans, zucchini. My wife loved it, and enjoyed the leftovers again for lunch the next day. :-). The beef bowl was delightful, with tender beef giving a deep favorite note to a ginger-scented broth, and a very good ramen-style noodle. It also made for great leftovers! As a kicker for the whole meal, we also had a small bowl of Tommy's classic curry surprise, extra spicy, and it was as good as ever! We finished the meal by stopping at the BoBar again. We ordered a peach fruit tea again, this time with green tea. Part of what we loved was that you could taste the high-quality floral notes in the tea - this didn't taste like green tea concentrate from the big chain coffee bar. We also ordered the "special" Orange Creamsicle Boba and it was an unexpected delight. Orange tea, sweetened and perfectly blended with cream, with mango-flavored boba. It made off a surprisingly light and refreshing dessert as we walked around downtown Mooresville. Tommy Tong is back. Go see him! read more
