Roast pork lo mein, at Chopsticks Kitchen in Bristol, CT.
    Tom D.

Not my first choice for Chinese takeout in Bristol, but it's only 0.2 miles away from my apartment (so we end up ordering from Chopsticks Kitchen often). I like the steamed dumplings appetizer, I always order it. The roast pork lo mein is also decent. But the General Tso's chicken is awful (soggy texture & bad tasting sauce). Won't ever get it again. Last night my wife ordered the Lemon chicken. Basically, it was 8 pieces of chicken (often referred to as "Golden Fingers") sitting on top of a heap of lettuce. A large container of sweet yellow lemon sauce accompanied the dish. Very underwhelming, pathetic in fact. Chopsticks Kitchen is lousy take-out Chinese food. But I imagine I'll continue to order from them, occasionally, when I'm too lazy to drive very far.

Food is delicious. Their General Tsos is one of the best ones I had. But the staff is rude.

I've gotten Crab Rangoon and Egg Drop from there and they never disappoint me. Today I decided to try their lunch combo, General Tso Chicken and regular house fried rice. Definitely surprised how fresh it was and thoroughly cooked to my liking. Delivery was in timely manner and their place I've been in it few times. They can use some improvement to make the place more inviting for ordering and to dine in.

My meal. Ice cold and mushy.

Food is really good, one of the best egg rolls in Bristol. Service is great too, family owned.

This place used to be good. It's not. It's awful. Dumplings were not cooked and orange chicken was gross. Not ordering again.

Especially during the extreme weather during the winter they're cold in here and during summer they're kind of over hot. The woman owner i deal with every time. She's incredibly kind caring and a darling to talk to. This older Asian woman who doesn't even know me came from behind the plexiglass window and spent some time talking to me on a few occasions. She even invaded my personal space and was mere inches away. Such an incredibly sweet woman. They're always very quick here when I've placed my orders. Very very quick service. One time she did get my order incorrect but made it right on my next order. The restaurant is basically pick up take out and they have delivery. It's a basic looking Chinese no frills restaurant with pics of the food for your ambiance viewing. The food itself is very good. Keeps me coming back aglain and again for more. Very friendly. The parking is along side the street right in front. Easy peasy.

Lunch specials are smaller portion, but good for the price (raised to $12.95 now since my last menu photo) We split a lot of dishes because we couldn't decide: Wonton soup appetizer {4.5/5}: Loved how delicate the wontons were and the clear broth was great for a cold day. Tad too salty though. Lunch special --Braised pork belly {3/5}: Very tender, but kind of monotone in flavor. Very filling! Lunch special --Hot and sour gizzards {4.5/5}: This might freak people out in terms of texture, but I LOVE this texture. Good chew and pops of heat from the peppers and acid from the pickled green beans Lunch special --Cumin dish lamb {3/5}: kind of chewy and not as much flavor as I wished, but not bad! Chicken wings {3/5}: Crunchyyyy. Battered wings, not as much flavor as their chongqing chicken which I prefer, but not bad

Outside is very much a busy shopping plaza in not the best part of town. Inside is a completely different story. Very clean and spacious, lots of booths and tables. Decorated well and a lot to see. The staff were friendly but there was a slight language barrier. We fumbled through the menu and found some bites to try. Food came out relatively quick, and that was a bit to manage because there were a lot of plates brought rather quickly. We got pics and dug in. The bites were flavored well. Nothing felt too greasy or under seasoned. The white pepper chicken was very crispy. But not a lot of chicken on each bite. The sweet and sour soup was both sweet and sour, but balanced enough that you could keep on eating it. The dumplings were fresh noodles and the filling was spiced well. The only flop was the spare ribs. Really tasty sauce, but very little meat on the bone. Had to suck on the bones to scrape enough meat off to make it a proper appetizer. It tasted good, just was not easy to eat. Price for the area was high for the neighborhood. It's got the quality and the flavor to command that price easily, but it doesn't match the stores. It's really good, but know that you're getting the real deal sichuan experience. Expect some heat, some saucy fingers, and some bones, and you'll get some really good bites

This was a well prepared lunch crew. The order was put in for two egg rolls, as an appetizer My neighbor ordered the lemon chicken, which included hot and sour soup I ordered the garlic chicken, along with wonton soup The soups arrived almost immediately, and shortly thereafter came the two spring rolls. The wonton soup was perfect. Two delicate wontons, stuffed with pork, in a chicken broth that was not salty whatsoever. My neighbor said the hot and sour soup was some of the best she ever had The spring rolls were on point, slightly crispy, amazing flavor, and a perfect choice to start to the lunch experience The dinners arrived, and I saw that the beef and garlic sauce also included water chestnuts, broccoli, and a delicious brown sauce that was not too overpowering. The beef and garlic was a perfect combination with these vegetables and the gravy over rice. The rice was just perfectly sticky and delicious. Explosions of different flavors hit this dish perfectly. This was one of the best Chinese dishes I've had in a long time. Tasting the lemon chicken, the chicken was pounded extremely thin, deep-fried and served with lemon slices over the top. It was very nice. The restrooms were spotless. The enjoyment experience was off the charts as far as the ambience, food presentations, the various tastes of the food, along with the prices The vibe was perfect. For Connecticut, this has to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in the state. In simple terms, the experience was perfect. Thank you Great Taste. You show Connecticut how restaurants (and small businesses) should be run.
