The second time I ordered I decided to get the larger size of boneless spare ribs at $16 only to receive about the same amount as before. Ordered the House Lo Mein (chicken, beef and shrimp) with crab Rangoon and the combo boneless ribs and general Tso's chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. Lo mein was packed of meat, very flavorful. Crab Rangoon was very creamy with a HINT of crab. General Tso's chicken was crispy and had a nice kick of heat. Boneless ribs were flavorful and NOT full of fat. The rice was full of vegetables and flavorful. Egg rolls were crispy and not full of oil like most places. We ordered takeout, but were greeted with a friendly smile. The food wasn't saturated in oil either, felt rather "light" instead of a heavy dense greasy residue. I am very picky when it comes to Chinese food. I ate at the same Chinese Restaurant my entire childhood. My niece picked this one so I decided to give it a try. I knew when I called the order in that it was going to be something special. The woman that answered was the kindest Chinese restaurant person I've ever spoke to in my life! They're usually not patient if you've tried your share of different restaurants! She was apologizing and repeating things back. She even spelled things out to make sure she got them correctly. I definitely had to compliment her. When the food arrived I was nervous. Usually if I like the egg roll I know I'm going to like everything else. Popped that baby out and it sealed the deal(hence why it is not in the photo)! Everything was delicious! First time in my life I got twin eggrolls lol! I truly felt special and my fortunes were poppin lol! I ate half and heated the rest the next day and it was still yummy. No hard crusty rice. The orange chicken was very soft and mushy. Tasted as though it was sitting a long time. Pretty terrible. I picked it up myself quickly.

The original owners were AWESOME. The new owners have cut all of their portions in half. Never was charged to order online to pick up. it was .99. They said it was the website. I truly think it's them trying to recoup their cost for the website. The egg rolls were okay but the casing is thick so there is less in it. So so sad read more

Lee's Garden is the best Chinese in the Plainville/Southington area. I've tried every single Chinese place in the area, and this is by far the best. The egg rolls are always burning hot and crisp and the noodles are cooked to perfection. My favorites are the general tsaos chicken , sesame chicken, shrimp ho fun, vegetable lo mein, and the shrimp mei fun. It's really hard for me to give an establishment only one star but this restaurant takes it. I decided to do a carry out, for lunch this past Friday and it was horrible. I ordered the lunch beef and broccoli lunch special and it was horrible. I requested for white rice but they gave me pork fried rice. When I asked for them to change it, they refused and insisted I keep the pork fried rice. I tried to explain that I don't eat pork and would like them to replace it with what I had ordered. The man who took my order, also the cook, started yelling from the back and I became uncomfortable. The cashier then told me that I was wasting their food and brought the food to the cook. The cook took the beef and broccoli and placed it on the white but didn't redo the order. They dismissed me and both walked off to the back. I opened the container in their restaurant and it did smell bad. The meat smelled like fish and I couldn't eat it. I couldn't get them to come speak to me so I left. Basically, it was the worst experience with food I've had since I moved up here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone because it'll just ruin your appetite for Chinese food. read more

Since coming from N.E New Jersey where good Chinese food is commonplace I found the restaurants in Connecticut are mostly sub-par, with Lee's Garden being the exception, the owners were courteous and friendly, the food was extremely tasty and you don't need a second mortgage to pay for it like most other restaurants in Connecticut, this wonderful restaurant is about 10 miles from my house but it's worth the trip. read more

Lee's Garden is another takeout/delivery-driven chinese restaurant that does have a few places to sit and eat if you need to. The menu is the standard offering of most chinese places, and the food is good. Ask for less spicy on the red menu items - unlike some other places, when they say spicy they mean it, but the will always tone it down for you. Good service, and they're quick too. My one gripe about this place is that one of the kids that works there (I don't mean kid, I mean probably high school age) is a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to asking is there anything else, giving you the price, etc. He just sort of stands and stares. Could prove off-putting especially to older patrons, but I figure he's just probably really wanting to be home playing video games rather than working at his family's restaurant. :) I am a fan of the food, the prices are good, plenty of parking in the plaza they're in. read more

I live 5 min from them. this is my son's fav place he is 35. we have it delivered and pick up on occasion being so close. service varies depending on who answers the phone and how busy they are. a bad phone person has messed up our orders before.... but out of 50 orders 45 are fine. my only problem is most of the time the boneless spare ribs are dry and hard as a rock and I cat chew them. It really is the best affordable Chinese food in the area. The flavor is good and my picky 2 year old loves it... However, when they give you a pick up time double it and add 10 minutes. They can never seem to get the orders out and it gets worse when their kids aren't working there. The pepper steak was good while not outstanding but the fried rice was better than most. It was difficult to justify the second star in my rating, but the food at this place isn't bad, if you can make it past the abysmal service. When calling in an order, you will be rushed through giving your order. 1 out of 3 times, something will be wrong with your order. After you order, you will then wait for, on average, over an hour. The delivery staff, with the exception of our most recent transaction, had been amicable enough. The most recent transaction I'm referring to is one where our food was delivered almost 2 hours after calling during non-peak hours.The delivery driver then had the audacity to balk at the amount I gave him, very rudely. This was my absolute favorite cheap chinese food place when i lived in southington. an L32 with an order of golden fingers. I could have eaten it every day. It's been 15 years and I still remember what i would always order we had that often because it was that good.
