Chouquette is a Bethesda-based chocolate shop, owned by Sarah Dwyer (a Paris-trained chocolatier). This place is known for their small batch of chocolate-covered caramels and are popular for weddings, hostess gifts, thank you gifts, birthday parties, etc. I love their flower-like design with interesting artwork printed on top, and they can be customized to any artwork you prefer. I purchased some that had a cute green flower design - the shell wasn't too thin or thick, and it contained a generous amount of creamy caramel. I liked how the pieces are also larger than the norm of chocolate pieces, so you'll get to satisfy your sweet tooth! They have an online ordering system as well as being sold in local grocery stores and specialty shops. Definitely check this chocolate shop out! +chocolate covered caramels +cute prints +Bethesda-based

I got the golden ticket!!! I fortunate enough to get a tour of the inner workings of Chouquette and Sara's amazing chocolates! From one small business owner who is keeping his day job and managing the side business at the same time, after hearing Sara's story of her passion for chocolates. It makes me want to aspire to be someone like her and quit my job and pursue my business full force!! Anyways enough about my admiration for Sara and her business and let's get down to the chocolates!! The vanilla salted caramel was..to..die for! It melts in your mouth and the salt doesn't over power your pallet kinda like some of those other mass produced chocolates you "see's" around this area ;) (see what I did there?) The designs are phenomenal and prices are spectacular! You eat believe that when it comes to holiday season I'm putting in an order with Chouquette for all my clients! I definitely recommend Chouquette for all gifts, promotional products and just for you to eat yourself!!!

Not a chocolate shop. This is literally just a basket of prepackaged chocolates inside a food shop.

I met Sarah back in August of last year, and you would be hard-pressed to find anyone more dedicated to her business!!

Tired a few things on a whim from Savvy Treats. It's definitely a carry-out shop as the ambiance,…read morewith no indoor or outdoor seating. They do also sell a variety of drinks, teas, and even greeting cards. Here is how everything was: The Chocolate mousse shooters with whipped cream (2 oz) was definitely decadent, but grainy tasting as well. It was tough to get over the texture of something so rich that was meant to be smooth and wasn't. I liked the Salted Caramel Cheesecake Shooters (2 oz) a bit more because of the different flavors (the cheesecake layer being my favorite). The Chocolate Covered Strawberries were nice, but the strawberries were tart (which is definitely tough to gauge). Lastly, the buttercream on the Mini Cupcake was overly sweet and the cupcake was not as moist as I would have anticipated. There is limited parking (outdoor) outside the shop, but it is free.

The new owner was a good dude. He provided great service, was very friendly & personable, and has lots of goals & innovations that he wants to accomplish for the business. I had a couple of items I wanted to try, but some of them weren't available. On my first trip, I got the carrot cupcake $3.95 and the Oreo cupcake $3.95. On my second trip, I came back to get my birthday gift they gave me which was $10 store credit, and got both of the cupcakes and a cinnamon crunch scone. Also, the near $4 price tag for the size of these cupcakes isn't something I'm too fond of, but oh well. - The carrot cake cupcake was good: the icing and cake complemented each other very well. - The Oreo cupcake was alright, but I wasn't impressed with it. - The cinnamon crunch scone was an easy miss for me, didn't do anything for my taste buds. Overall, it's a decent spot with a relatively limited amount of pastries but I fully expect in the coming months for the business to take a huge shift and really blossom.

As the name suggests, there are specialty food items from all over Europe. While I saw some things like English teas, German cookies, and a few Greek items, it seemed like the majority of the offerings were from Eastern Europe. I think over half of the products had labels in Cyrillic alphabet with no translation on them in any fashion, so some things you just gotta know what it is or ask the staff. I saw a lot of things from Georgia and Ukraine, but I think I saw other products from that region (Russian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, etc.). The staff were very friendly, and cheerfully assisted me with some of the pastries we purchased. One had a nice balance of flaky pastry and fruit filling while the blintzes seemed a bit underwhelming. I also picked up a bottle of dessert wine and Children #1 and #2 picked out some candies that caught their eye. The inside is clean and somewhat small but easy to navigate. There is music playing (I don't know what language; I want to say Russian but in today's climate that could be a charged statement. Just want to say it positively adds to the vibe). Worth checking out, if you want to explore a product you might not otherwise be exposed to or if you want to find a specialty European item that you've been missing.
