Tired a few things on a whim from Savvy Treats. It's definitely a carry-out shop as the ambiance, with no indoor or outdoor seating. They do also sell a variety of drinks, teas, and even greeting cards. Here is how everything was: The Chocolate mousse shooters with whipped cream (2 oz) was definitely decadent, but grainy tasting as well. It was tough to get over the texture of something so rich that was meant to be smooth and wasn't. I liked the Salted Caramel Cheesecake Shooters (2 oz) a bit more because of the different flavors (the cheesecake layer being my favorite). The Chocolate Covered Strawberries were nice, but the strawberries were tart (which is definitely tough to gauge). Lastly, the buttercream on the Mini Cupcake was overly sweet and the cupcake was not as moist as I would have anticipated. Monday 2/24/25 & Tuesday 3/11/25 Once again, another spot that has been on my list for a while, and it seems that I came at a very unique time as a new owner had recently taken over. The new owner was a good dude. He provided great service, was very friendly & personable, and has lots of goals & innovations that he wants to accomplish for the business. I had a couple of items I wanted to try, but some of them weren't available. On my first trip, I got the carrot cupcake $3.95 and the Oreo cupcake $3.95. On my second trip, I came back to get my birthday gift they gave me which was $10 store credit, and got both of the cupcakes and a cinnamon crunch scone. Also, the near $4 price tag for the size of these cupcakes isn't something I'm too fond of, but oh well. - The carrot cake cupcake was good: the icing and cake complemented each other very well. - The Oreo cupcake was alright, but I wasn't impressed with it. - The cinnamon crunch scone was an easy miss for me, didn't do anything for my taste buds. Overall, it's a decent spot with a relatively limited amount of pastries but I fully expect in the coming months for the business to take a huge shift and really blossom. read more

Imagine you have a baby shower planned for 100+ people. Beautiful venue. Family flying in from all over the country. Everyone's favorite part of the event is ruined. Why ? No cake. No desserts. My aunt called at 2pm when they didn't arrive at pre arranged time. They said they were coming at 4pm. No show. They then said they were sending cake in an uber (what ?). Then they said they can't do it and stopped answering calls. A refund has not been issued yet. But this big mistake or lack of proper business planning shouldn't go unnoticed. Please do not use them for your special occasions. We used them under previous owner with no problem and we are shocked at their stale and disingenuous apology. Look, the silky buttercream icing on the cupcakes is nice, but it does tend to fall flat faster. The cupcakes themselves are tasty, although not quite epic. Still, I would have returned if not for the behavior I witnessed. The owner treated her employee and the humble woman that was interviewing for the cake decorating position so poorly, that I was embarrassed for her (the owner). She was rude, loud, condescending, and unkind. How you treat employees says a lot about who you are as a person, and how you run your business. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. When you can't bring yourself to treat employees kindly, when customers are present, I would hate to see how you treat them when there aren't any customers present. Please do better. read more

I would not recommend this business for custom cookies. They are significantly overcharging for services that resemble a low skill set. What's worse is the lack of professionalism and incredibly poor communication throughout the entire process. Questions go unanswered, updates are delayed or nonexistent, and there's no sense of accountability. If you're expecting quality work or even basic customer service, look elsewhere. Absolutely Unacceptable - Avoid at All Costs If I could give zero stars, I would. Savvy Treats--and especially the owner, Eric--completely failed me in one of the most unprofessional, rude, and careless ways imaginable. I placed an order well in advance, confirmed it three separate times, and even paid in full upfront. Everything was supposedly good to go. But when I showed up on Monday afternoon to pick up my order, I found the store completely shut down--no sign, no message, nothing. I waited outside, confused and frustrated, only to learn from a passerby that the store had been shut down by the Fire Marshall the previous Thursday. That means Eric had FOUR DAYS to notify me. He had my number, my email, my money--and he said nothing. No delivery. No call. No email. No apology. Not even a last-minute attempt to make things right. Just radio silence and complete disregard for my time and event. When I finally got in touch, Eric's attitude was astonishingly dismissive and rude. No ownership, no remorse--just arrogance and excuses. A simple heads-up would've allowed me to make alternate plans. Instead, I was left scrambling at the very last minute, trying to salvage an event without the order I was counting on. This is not just bad service--this is negligence and outright disrespect for customers. Do not trust this business with anything time-sensitive or important. They clearly don't care. UPDATE: It's now been over three weeks, and I still have not received a refund for the order that was never fulfilled. I contacted the previous owner (not knowing she was no longer involved with the business) as well as Eric, after multiple emails to the main business account went unanswered. Despite Eric's response below, the facts remain clear: * My order was paid in full. * The store was shut down days before my scheduled pickup--without any notice. * No one reached out to notify me, apologize, or offer a refund. * I had to chase down any response at all. Instead of taking accountability, Eric has chosen to deflect blame and personally attack me in his response. That speaks volumes about how this business treats customers. Bottom line: the order wasn't fulfilled, the money wasn't refunded, and there was zero attempt to make it right. Proceed with caution, especially if your event or timeline matters. read more

These people may be good at cakes but they ruined my custom cookie order for an important family event. First of all, they weren't that well executed. And then, they actually packed up the decorated cookies before the icing had dried - half were smeared - and there was no time for a redo. The cupcakes from savvy treats are addictive, especially the carrot cake flavor. I just served them again at a party and they were a huge success. The coconut, pineapple and walnuts add an extra texture to the taste. They are a must try. And for the first time, I ordered brownies, cheesecake and lemon bars which were also outstanding. I placed an online order for 4 dozen cupcakes for a birthday party. The order was confirmed and my credit card was charged. I scheduled pickup for 2pm on a Saturday, well within their normal opening hours (according to their website). On the day of my order, the store was closed. I called and left messages and no one responded. They did eventually credit the money back to my CC but no one ever called me with an explanation. read more

I ordered the pumpkin cupcake, the chocolate cupcake, the red velvet cupcake, and salted caramel. Each one was more delicious than the other one. They are only open Tuesday-Thursday from 10am-5 pm and Saturdays too. All covid procedures were in place. The people who work there are lovely and patient. I ordered on May 22 for 35 cake pops and my card got charged, the cake was for my gender reveal party, but when I came to pick up on last June 27, the women was inside the bakery told me the guy did not pay her the rent so she had to clean up the place. The annoying thing was nobody called me or emailed me about that situation and even did not refunded for me for fulfilling my order. I have to work with my bank and luckily I had found other bakery that can make my last minute order. DO NOT USE FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS The current owner is UNRELIABLE, DISHONEST, and APATHETIC to errors. He messed up a huge order (over 200 cup cakes) for a VERY important event for my daughter, with 135 people in attendance. The day of the event, the manager called 2x in the middle of the main event (when I couldn't answer the phone) to say they couldn't deliver or set up. Finally, they Ubered the delivery, over an hour late, but could not do set up and since they were so late it was in the middle of the celebration. The cupcakes were not decorated the way we discussed and the manager said the owner, who we had met with for over an hour planning the details, never relayed the information to her. The owner agreed to a partial refund for all the errors, however, 5 weeks later still did not issue it, blaming the company that handles their payments. I contacted that company and they said he never put in the request for a refund and sent me the proof that he did not. The owner stopped taking and responding to my phone calls about the refund. He clearly does not care about his customers or his business. He blames his employees, but he is the one neglecting the business and disrespecting customers who entrust him to cater important events. I've been going to this bakery for about a year now. Would sometimes go multiple times a week to get my cupcake fix. Their cakes and cupcakes were always so moist and delicious. I ordered a cake for my husband's birthday that was scrumptious. And I ordered a couple of cakes for work and everyone kept asking where I got them from. Both cakes were gone in a matter of minutes. However, my last two experiences have left much to be desired. I ordered a cake for my own birthday that was very dry. Even my guests commented on it. I decided to give them a second chance because this place has been my go to for so long and ordered a bunch of cupcakes for a group trip. The cupcakes were so dry and had an odd taste. Even the frosting couldn't make up for it. I almost feel like I wasted my money on these cupcakes because I definitely don't want to serve them to my friends. I'm honestly not sure what's going on. Scam!!!! They charged us and we never got our orders! We placed several orders for a birthday celebration and we gave specific designs to all the orders. We went to pick up the order the day before the event and there was no designs to one of the 3 orders and other 2 orders were missing! I really enjoyed the cupcakes I ordered for my friend's birthday. I got the oreo cookie, peanut butter, and lemon blueberry minis. It was nice to be able to choose three different varieties for a batch of 36 cupcakes. Cupcakes were moist and everyone said great things about them. The cookies and cream and lemon blueberry had cream cheese frosting and the peanut butter had a whipped peanut butter frosting. All were awesome, but if I had to eat 15 minis straight, I'd pick the lemon blueberry. Quality and variety cupcakes are hard to come by (minus Georgetown cupcake and baked and wired), but Savvy treats has it! They were also wonderfully packaged in a way where the cupcakes could not tip over (I still somehow managed to, but it's really difficult, trust me). They are closed on a Sunday so you may have to pick up a day earlier if you're having a Sunday event but it still tasted great. read more

Just on the outskirts of Rockville Town Center lies this little stretch with a small but premium bakery. I wasn't in for a cake to order, but among the modest selection of fresh baked goods, I found some very appealing looking cupcakes and muffins. The chocolate mocha cupcake and chocolate banana muffin that I purchased met with rave reviews. Given that I do like the neighboring Indian restaurant, I wouldn't have any trouble seeing myself stopping here for dessert. read more

Savvy Treats now occupies the space that used to be Cake Dreams, another cupcakery. Parking can be tough given that they share the small lot with Bombay Bistro, one of my favorite Indian restaurants in MoCo. The smell of freshly baked cupcakes and other goodies will quickly fill your nostrils upon entering Savvy Treats. After trying out a couple mini cupcakes at Yelp's Celebrity Affair at Bowlmor- Rockville, I knew I had to bring some cupcakes and cookies to a dinner party. I decided on a half dozen + 1 cupcakes (carrot cake red velvet, vanilla bean, German chocolate, salty caramel, pumpkin, and oreo) and several holiday decorated sugar cookies. The cupcakes were a huge hit. Everyone raved how good they were, with C tearing his German chocolate cupcake up! I had the carrot cake cupcake, which was moist and topped with the right amount of cream cheese frosting. I liked how you can taste the shredded carrots, walnuts, and pineapple with each bite and that the frosting wasn't overly sweet. If I didn't know that there was coconut in the mix, I wouldn't have known otherwise. The sugar cookies ($1/piece) were pretty small for the price.
