Big Rob's Catering

Big Rob's Catering

We paid in full for catering and confirmed multiple times that everything was scheduled. The day of…read morethe event, they called and canceled last minute due to illness. While that was extremely unfortunate, we understand that things happen, that alone wouldn't justify a one-star review. What does justify it is what happened next. They did not proactively offer a refund. We had to call them and request it. Even then, they acted surprised and said they would "consider" a partial refund. When we asked why only partial, they claimed it was because they had already purchased the food. So let me get this straight, you cancel on us the day of, and then expect to keep part of our money because of your internal costs? That's not how professional businesses operate. Completely unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration and go with someone else!

We booked Big Rob's Catering for a company leadership retreat more than a month in advance. As…read morerequired, we paid a 50% deposit upfront. The day before the event, we attempted to pay the remaining balance by card, but it didn't go through--likely due to location. We immediately offered multiple other payment options. After discussing it we sent her a check. We were fully prepared to pay her in any form she preferred. On the morning of our event, we were notified that she was sick and would not be able to cater for the two days we had booked. We completely understand that illness happens, but when we asked if she had any backup plan, referrals, or anyone who could step in, she told us she had nothing to offer--no alternatives, no assistance--and that we would be left without food or services. Despite canceling on us the day of the event and providing no services whatsoever, she refused to return our full payment, stating the deposit was non-refundable. However, her contract clearly states that non-refundable deposits apply to client cancellations, not cancellations made by the caterer. There is no clause allowing her to retain any portion of the payment if she is the one who cancels. As a result, our company was left scrambling at the last minute to find food for a large group over two days, which caused unnecessary stress and disruption to an important event. Communication after the cancellation was also unprofessional. We were told she would not issue a full refund and were effectively told not to contact her further. Based on this experience, we would strongly caution others against using this company--especially for important or time-sensitive events where reliability, accountability, and professionalism matter.

This place was great! So great, we went twice in one day…read more We came right at openings for breakfast and the clean, bright space and fun menu made us optimistic. I had the Holla Tots -- tater tots with ham, bacon, egg, and hollandaise. Delicious! I also ordered a Mangonada Mimosa which was so fun. We ended up coming back for lunch where I shared the turkey club and a BLT. It was packed at lunch but somehow still easy to find a spot to sit. This place has food and drink options to suit a lot of tastes, great staff, and plenty of seating in a cute space. The attention to detail is clear from the fun food and drink names to the decor (especially the bathroom) and the 3 or 4 kinds of ketchup. I wish they had one near me!

"Persnikkity's Food Offers a Lot: Hits the Hungry Spot"…read more Walking into Persnikkity in Show Low (which I have done many times from their old location to their new one), you immediately feel like you've stumbled onto something the town's been keeping to itself. The place has that lived-in charm where locals know each other's orders, and the staff treats you like you're part of the club from minute one. I've made the Asian chicken wrap and twisted beef Philly my reliable go-tos--they nail that balance of fresh and hearty that keeps pulling me back. The morning totchos are a brilliant mess of everything breakfast should be, the chicken and waffle hits that sweet-savory note without trying too hard, and even their bagel with salmon comes out like they actually care about it. The vanilla matcha bubble tea deserves its own mention because it tastes like someone put thought into it rather than just dumping powder into a cup. Service here makes the food taste even better--attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake. The vibe is casual enough that you can show up in whatever you're wearing, but the food quality makes it clear they're taking things seriously where it counts. It's the kind of spot where you find yourself coming back not just for one signature dish, but because the whole experience just works.

I am not sure why this place is so busy. We had to wait for about 30 minutes to get a table since…read morethey don't take reservations. While the place is lovely, the servers are clueless and we had a few of them come up during our dinner. I asked if there is any pasta made in house and she said she did not know so I asked if she could check with the kitchen. Turned out they make cannelloni and ravioli in house. They were out of cannelloni so we ordered ravioli and veal Parmesan. Veal Parmesan was too breaded and spaghetti and marina were simply not tasty. Ravioli on the other hand were very good. The Caesar salad was not worth the upgrade since the lettuce were somewhat wilted.

i have never written a review because i am simply not that person, however , this place was divine…read more our wait time was 30 minutes and we got seated in 5. The service was that of a fine dining restaurant with the FOH staff going above and beyond. You can tell they genuinely enjoy their position. The food was extremely delicious and portions were huge. if the price scares you away, then please reconsider as its 100000% worth it . The ingredients in both the pizza & pasta were incredibly fresh and you could taste the quality. BOH really knows how to cook!!!! My only dislike was I live 4 hours away from this place and cant go at least once a week! The restaurant was cute and ambiance was very chill and music wasn't too loud so you could hear your party. I will miss this place! Please come to phoenix!!!!
