Stopped by this little cafe wall traveling through Show Low after it was recommended to me. I had been to this exact location before when it was in Mexican restaurant. The decor is cute - - standard independent coffee house/Cafe decor with metal chairs, some wood on the walls, and a faux plant mat on the wall with neon letters. It had a cool hamburger painted on the wall, and I was in love with the giant cat with mirror eyes in the bathroom. I will say the dining room looks weirdly empty, like there aren't enough tables to fill the space. You can definitely tell that the owner is persnickety - - I watched as someone made sure all the sauces were faced perfectly - - a very nice touch. We ordered a hamburger with chips, a Belgian waffle, and a smoked turkey sandwich with garlic fries. We all really enjoyed our food - - especially those delicious fries. This is a solid choice if you are looking for a casual cafe in Show Low. Some of the breakfast items on the menu sounded pretty good, so maybe that's the way I'll go if I return.

Nice stop in Show Low for a quick All American meal. Super good food and order taking. You get an order number to set on your table. Friendly server bring the food out. DIY on the fountain drinks with free refill. Decent little covered patio in shade if that's your bag. Steps or ramp put you on table level. I availed myself of an egg salad sandwich on sourdough with bacon and side fruit and an egg and cheese croissant (yeah, I was hungry from eating van food for a week). Great selection of burgers and sandwiches. Good egg salad and it came out in a jiffy. Corner of strip center retail location with handicap parking right in front. A slice of Americano here. Great non-chain stop that is clean and well run

This place was a recommendation from family for our stay in the cabin in Show Low. Its a tiny spot with limited seating. It appeared that they do a lot of pick up orders. The staff was super friendly and seemed in great spirits. I ordered the chorizo burrito with a dirty Chai and my hubby ordered the biscuit breakfast sando. No joke, this was the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. I was blown away. My only issue was it was HUGE and I couldnt finish the whole thing. My hubby's biscuit sando was buttery, flaky with fluffy eggs and a side of tender sausage. I 100% recommend this place and will eat here every time we are in town.

Food is fantastic , and wait time was short. Photo shows about half of what it came with, I just ate the other half before I thought about a review

We were so happy to find Persnikkitys Cafe. There were many positive reviews we had to give them a try. Upon entering we were warmly greeted, the staff were are very friendly and happy. The first thing to do is grab a menu and check out their wonderful menu items, next go to the counter and place your order. I ordered the small Big Hawaiian Burger and my wife ordered the Sesame Chicken Salad, both were delicious. Ordering at the counter was efficient and they brought our meals out to the table. Our server came out several times to check on us making sure our orders were to our satisfaction or if we needed anything. Details: The atmosphere was welcoming, casual, clean, and relaxing. The nondescript exterior was deceiving, don't let the exterior influence your decision (I know, we usually do when we dine out). All I have to say is, I am happy that I read previous positive reviews of the service and food and gave them a try. We were not disappointed and thankful we chose to dine here. Plenty of parking and access is good.

What i ordered vs what i got... had me on hold for almost 30 minutes to tell me there's nothing they were able to do about it and they ran out of ingredients... no refund nothing

Raw (but marinated) chicken. Never touch heat!

Only a few words. The serve completely raw uncooked chicken in their salad. It never touched any form of heat. Completely raw.

Bacon Avo burrito. Filled with tater tots. If you thought you were getting 3 eggs bacon and avocado. Lots of protein. NOT!

7-2-25. We are no longer a fan. Stopped in again while in town. Have to go from 5 stars to one star. Just in to order a burrito to go. My husband and I are in line to order. Tall brunette with braid down her back asked my husband if he had been helped, and he replied no, my wife needs to order. She looked at me and then just walked to the area where food comes out. ?? My husband said that was really rude and I agreed. I placed an order to go with someone else and the same girl who was so rude is the one who handed me my order. I asked if I could get extra salt and pepper and she said "it is in the bag". It was not. No silverware either. Ummmm I think we will stick with other restaurants in Show Low when we visit. My husband said no matter how much we liked the food, atmosphere. He said he will not tolerate that kind of disrespect to his wife. And I will not either. Now the review on the grilled burrito "Bacon Avo". It states there are 3 eggs in this. I will post a photo. There are so many tator tots in this thing it is disgusting. Not what I thought I would be getting. The soggy tator tots ruin this. Very little bacon eggs or avocado. BTW Your employees can make you or break you. Skip this place as there are so many other restaurants around. BTW Pitalian has the best pizza, salads and Italian grinder!!

Salad bar was fresh with lots of topping choices and homemade salad dressings and fresh soup (turkey noodle just like grandma's) Breakfast tacos were absolutely delicious and hugely portioned. Love that breakfast, lunch and dinner are all available all day long. Turkey dinner was real turkey not a sliced meatroll or pressed etc, mashed potatoes etc homemade. Only regret was being too full to try dessert. The greeting we received and service was stellar. Kassidy (and male busser) was pure sunshine in the morning. She/they kept water and coffee full, table clean and a smile on her face. She would be an asset anywhere-don't let her go! Great team, great place. Good for families, groups, individuals or couples. They made a nice fuss over a young girl celebrating a birthday. This place is a gem.

We have visited this place a good six or seven times over the last year for B-L, and it was always excellent. The staff are awesome, the salad bar was superb, the food was cooked correctly at a great temperature and tasted wonderful. However, the end of January 26, we tried to go there and they were closed and we didn't know why. No sign. We returned the next week, and had breakfast and I don't know what happened - maybe cooks were a no show in show low. Super polite and fast service still occurred. Comfortable seating. But I'm Unsure what happened in the kitchen. Hash browns were white, no color, and thus tasted more like oil than potatoes. We both requested eggs over medium, and they both came out over easy with whites not cooked. In a bacon/egg sandwich OE just doesn't work well. But it was a good egg! The croissant was recommended for my brekkie sandwich and was good but the cook smashed it flat - that is a big no-go and defeats ordering a croissant. Don't know if I'm right or wrong and it does not matter to me, but they tasted like Costco croissants, which is great. I think they're fantastic for a commercial product and when heated up they are hard to beat. But I don't think this one was warm....they need to go into the oven for a few minutes to heat up the bread and liven up the crispy flaky nature. Sausage Patties were a little too brown/ overcooked this time. The Pancakes were delightfully still way above board though - delicious!!! We will return and hope the cook from before is back or that someone is overseeing the plates of food before serving them. (No updated photos). Their salad and soup buffet was excellent when we last visited! Please keep in mind that unless the owners are cooking at these places, or they have somebody there that is consistent and grounded locally, that sometimes keeping a good cook up on a mountain or in a rural area can be a challenge. I know this one and am forgiving. We always give restaurants a second or even third try!!!!

Fully loaded was fully barren. No Aus Ju or horseradish for the Prime Rib either, and the Prime Rib was actually COLD.. Cold to the touch. We understand Cattlemen's Steakhouse and Lounge has been in Show Low for quite some time, but cannot compare it to anything prior to February 8, 2026. We understand a remodel occurred in early 2025 and have seen a few pictures of the 'old' look to compare to what we experienced. Overall as far as the decor, it looked nice and the booths were comfortable, however the chandeliers with the bright white LED lights are out of place and annoying! The ambience of a rustic steakhouse should be comforting and relaxing, not cause anxiety due to bright lighting. If the bulbs were softer and less bright white more similar to old fashioned incandescent lights it would probably be fine, but those bulbs are just awful. Yes, it's nice to be able to see your food, but those bulbs make you feel like you are eating in a Walmart. As for decor on the walls, it's too bland and generic and from pictures of the old place, the rustic cowboy look is virtually non existent compared to what was on the walls before. Sometimes less remodeling is better than gutting and removing everything and replacing it with something totally different. It reminded us of the Show Low Cafe as they removed ALL evidence of what was there before that made the place charming and feel LOCAL. Both SLC and Cattlemen's would fit in just fine in a big city now with no evidence left of the previous local charm and art from the looks of it other than the outside of the buildings. I am guessing that many of the locals may feel that they are being thrown under the bus in favor of attracting new customers from faraway places that may have bigger bank accounts. As far as our meal is concerned we actually were pleased for the most part. That evening someone in the kitchen ruined the clam chowder soup by putting broccoli in it. To be fair, the waitress (Stephanie-very nice) did warn us about it and said we could get something else if we didn't like it. We tried it and it tasted like both soup pots were just combined to make one soup. It didn't taste anything like clam chowder, but it wasn't disgusting, so we ate it. A bit on the salty side, but it was edible. That's a huge mistake to make; hopefully the person that made it learned not to do it again. My husband ordered the $45 Filet Mignon and I ordered the $35 12 oz Ribeye. Both of our steaks were cooked properly and tasted very good. The Ribeye could have used a bit more seasoning, but the flavor of the steak itself was very good. The baked potatoes were quite small and I couldn't even cut through the skin on mine, so that was disappointing, as I like to eat the peel of the potato if it's baked right. It was a bit shocking to be served the steak and potato on a normal sized dinner plate where most of the plate was empty. Apparently the soup or salad is included as one of the side options and not above and beyond the 2 sides included in the meal. I remember the days when you got soup or salad and 2 options meant you get 2 side options and soup or salad. At least that was the way things normally went at a restaurant other than a fast food place. It was nice that the menu stated that bread is served upon request, so we didn't sit there and just wait for the bread and not have a clue that you have to ask for it for it to come to your table. Our waitress was very nice and the servers were nice and our meal was served in a timely manner, so no complaints in the service department. Have read that this place has new owners and food quality and service have gone downhill since change of ownership--cannot comment on that other than to say to any 'new' owners or any old owners looking to remodel or refresh an existing long time establishment, it isn't wise to remove all evidence of what existed prior to the remodel or refresh or change in owners. You don't throw the baby out with the bathwater if you want to continue to exist, especially in a small town where the locals that live there year round consist of your most likely customers on a consistent basis. Coming from someone coming from a big city environment down south, that is why we leave the city--to experience local places with local ambience and locally inspired decor that reflects the town we are visiting or moving to and are different than what we have in the big city. Don't just copy and paste what the big corporate owned chain restaurants or stores in the big cities are doing, that's not what most people are looking for. We can get that by spending our money at Outback or The Keg or the likes of those places. We choose your establishment because it is locally owned (hopefully) and different than the usual chain restaurants or stores.

At dinner, each of us had one espresso martini. No one was intoxicated, slurring words, or behaving badly. We arrived together in a lifted pickup truck Uber. As we stepped out, one friend--wearing stiletto heels--briefly slipped on the gravel parking lot (because let's face it, gravel and stilettos gravel don't go together) She immediately caught herself and was completely fine. The moment we walked inside, we were met with the craziest hostility. The brunette behind the counter aggressively interrogated me and another friend about how many drinks we'd had and where we'd been. I fully understand that staff have a responsibility to monitor their guests for safety, but the condescending tone and confrontational delivery were entirely unprofessional. This rbf brunette was literally yelling at us for no reason at all. So as I'm trying to calmly answer all her questions, (even though her tone was rude as hell) she actually turned her chair away from me and began vaping mid-conversation. Yes--vaping. I'm like, are u really just going to turn around, treat me like a dog and start Vaping?! So I asked her to please turn around and at least look at me while I was speaking. But at this point, now I feel incredibly disrespected and ask to speak to a manager. So she rolls her eyes and yells for the "manager" to come in. I started laughing at this point because whoever came in was clearly not the manager... It was a blonde girl who appeared to be just barely 21 and had glowing neon paint drawn all over her nose, eyebrows and jaw, and was wearing booty shorts and some other raver attire. This chick looked like she was on her way to Coachella over actually managing an establishment. I wish I was making this up!! In all of the years that I have worked the service industry in my 20's (serving, bartending, cocktailing, in Scottsdale) I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect and hostility. At this point, my friends and I didn't even want to go in and spend $$$ there. From that point on, we were dismissed and treated like a liability rather than paying customers--all because someone briefly slipped on their own gravel lot. No one was drunk. No one was disruptive. We were simply asking for basic respect and professionalism. We won't be returning, and I strongly suggest others think twice before coming here--especially if you value being treated like a human being. I rarely leave negative reviews; most of mine are positive. But this experience earned every word of mine if not more. Final thought: If a place is this eager to judge, dismiss, and humiliate guests before they even make it past the entry, imagine how they handle things when something actually goes wrong. (Which I'm sure is a nightly event) And know they're going to somehow turn this around on us like it was our fault, so I'm grabbing my popcorn and will be ready for a good laugh bc this place was a JOKE!
