My neighbor noticed an issue with my roof on the front corner of my house. The second story is very high, so I was only able to get a look at it from the sidewalk I found this company on Yelp, as it had some good reviews. So I called them to come over for an estimate. I had to chase somewhat, as they never came when they said they would. They finally came over at the end of the week, gave me a quote, which i accepted, as rain was coming over the weekend. I normally get a few quotes, but did not have the time at this point. Update: 3/23: Eugene called after my first review and profusely apologized. He offered to come by and even give me a substantial discount if I would give him another chance. He did honor his word and came by to do a consultation. While in the end we discovered I neede a different type of professional, he did take time to explain things to me and even gave me a referral. I seems like a person that cares about his craft and I would use him if I needed a roofer. I called this company and Eugene answered the phone. He was polite and we scheduled a definitive appointment for an evaluation of my roof/attic issue which was supposed to be 4 days ago. He did now show up, did not call to say he couldn't make the appointment, and I have yet to hear anything from him. I was very disappointed because from reading other reviews it seemed he would be perfect for the issues we are having. I have never bothered to write a review before. I was inspired to write this one. Eugene is an outstanding roofer. We had a leak in an older roof so we asked four well-rated roofers (here on Yelp!) out to look and give us estimates. Three of them said the leak was "probably" coming from a valley and quoted anywhere from $700 to $1,500 for a repair that might or might not work because "there was no way to know where the leak started." Eugene came, looked at the roof and in the attic and pinpointed the location of the leak, proposed a practical solution and charged us less for the repair. His patch held for a year until we were able to replace the roof. In the interim we asked him back to repair a few other issues and advise us about a few others. Invariably, he executed the repairs professionally for a reasonable price. His advice is always practical and durable, intended to last. If he had been available when we needed to replace the roof (our own circumstances dictated a very narrow window in which to complete the work), we would have chosen him. As it was, we followed his recommendations when looking at the methods and materials used to put on our new roof. I recommend him strongly to anyone with any issues with the roof over their heads. read more

I found Eugene on Yelp. I do my research to a nauseating degree. I was hopeful that Eugene would provide some type of fix to my valley roof leak. Eugene showed up the next day went up on the roof and told me the valley and entire roof had some obvious issues in the workmanship. At this point he could have tried to sell me a new roof but instead he said he could do the roof, fix the valley for 400 or 500 dollars or if I was comfortable, spend 15 dollars on roof cement and patch the valley to buy a few years. He even explained how to patch the valley the right way. Eugene went on to point out all the areas of the roof that reflected the poor workmanship. I felt like I got a bachelors in roof construction by time Eugene left. I purchased the house knowing the roof was only 4 years old. I found out that two owners ago the roof was done by the owner so no warranty. I felt stuck with having to buy a new roof. Live and learn. It wasn't dry enough to do the patch so I had to endure the recent torrential downpour and another leak sprung in a completely different area. I figured there was no way around it now, the roof had to be replaced. I called Eugene and again he was out the very next day. He gave me a very good estimate for the roof and the gutters. I told him I could to better on the gutters and he said that I should and showed me how I should make sure the guy installed them. I showed him where the new leak was and he found a section of fascia that was loose and he fixed it while he was here no charge! He said to try the roof cement and a drip edge on the dormer and then call him if it doesn't work. I will be trying it this week. Gene really is a life saver and could have easily sold me a new roof at that point. This man is very honest and though I hope to never see his workmanship with a roof replacement, if I do, I can rest assured it would be top notch and a a good price. Finding a right contractor is a painstaking process, especially for roofers. That's when I stumped on Yelp and found Eugene and his company. I promised myself if all the good reviews I read here are true, I will come back to share my feedback. I am doing just that because it's worth my time. So I first gave Eugene a call and immediately I asked for his cell number so that I can sent him a picture and described the problem I had, which is a big squirrel hole in soffit. A squirrel was trying to build a nest and get into the attic. It's a nightmare for my family but a such small job (but not easy) for ordinary roofers. But Eugene was willing to come to help. He is a nice person and very friendly. He patiently answered all the questions I had and also inspected any potential issues for the roof. We discussed how he is going to fix the problem and I think the price is fair, given the quality of the work, and more importantly (or equally important), the good communication. On his second visit, he came in prepared with all the materials needed, which is contrary to my last roofer; they arrived and went to homedepot to get the materials. Because of his good planning, he finished the job with another assistant within 3 hours. Nice work done. I highly recommend Eugene and his company. read more

I woke up at 4:30am to a leaky roof. This had never happened to me before so I checked out Yelp right away to see who I should call. Based on all of the positive reviews, I gave Eugene a call around 6:30 am and he got back to me right away and said that he would be able to come out that morning. I was relieved because I was heading out of town for the holidays the next morning. He came very promptly and was very thorough, checking out all the possible sources of the problem. He was able to identify the source, and he also pointed out some possible problem areas I might want to consider fixing so they don't turn into bigger issues in the future. I called Eugene on a Saturday thinking I'd leave a message for him to return on Monday, but no, he called back shortly after. He came by the next day on Sunday (what?!) and walked my husband through a then-potential job of of fixing our leaking patio roof and flue. He was also patient and answered questions I had and was very thorough at explaining everything. A surprising experience was that he did not try to sell us anything we didn't need. He explained what our options were, pros and cons of each, and what portions are optional to complete the work. His crew showed up 30 minutes earlier than their scheduled time (unheard of), and Eugene showed up shortly after to walk them through the job (I'm guessing). They were all very polite/respectful and cleaned up after themselves pretty well at the end of day one. I should note that the Village had some or other paperwork mishap and they were going to stop the work unless Eugene showed up to sort out permit stuff, which he did and no work was interrupted. The guys were done on day two, Eugene walked me through their work and invited me to come up to the roof, which I had to tactfully decline since my feet below on solid ground. My husband did go up later though, and reported a job well done. The chimney also looks much better now and doesn't seem to want to disintegrate any more. It has rained a number of times since the new patio roof is on, and it has not leaked since (so happy!) and the wood is not getting all rotted-out like before they ripped everything off.
