He cooked my hair! Went in for a color to match my hairpiece, he did the color and then put me under the dryer . Another client walked in for a haircut and he started cutting her hair and chatting, and after a long while, he looked up and noticed me still under the dryer and immediately came over and took me to the washing station. He put several products on it after washing, one being a " complimentary" glossing treatment that he said he normally charges thirty dollars for. My hair did look great with the color and glossing treatment. When it came to pay, the total for the color alone came to $175.00 and he was practically begging me to buy the glossing product for home use, but it was too expensive and I declined. May be me reading too much into it, but he seemed a bit nervouse trying to figure out the charges. My sister had been a walk-in a few weeks before and he did a fabulous job on her hair but we noticed then that he left the client he was working on first sitting in the chair for a long time to do my sister. Hmmmm.... All was fine until I washed my hair the first time and removed the glossing product, and realized my hair was like straw and has been ever since no matter how often I deep condition or what products I use. I will have to let it grow out and keep it short until then. Won't go back, ever. read more

I have never had such bad costumer service. Chris the stylist sat me down and asked what color I wanted and then never said another word to me. I have never been treated so I poorly at any other salon. It's just felt like we was more worried about returning calls then providing me the service I paid for. He then sent me out with wet hair. He said it would be another $40 to blow dry my hair. Who does that? I didn't need a blow out or style just dry my hair. I just got my hair cut by Kelly and couldn't believe the transformation! Today wasn't my first cut with Kelly, but due to being out of a job because of medical treatment, I simply could not afford it. Last month I went out for groceries at Walmart and decided to kill two birds with one stone and decided to get my hair cut at Smart styles (?) only because the hairdresser had beautiful hair. I asked for a trim and to shape it into a simple Bob, but I came out of there as though my 10 year old did my hair. I was not happy! started working again and couldn't wait to get my hair fixed! I called last minute and asked if Kelly was available for a haircut and was told that she was getting off early, so unable to fit a haircut til next week, I asked if Kris could do my hair. Well to my surprise, when I entered the salon, Kelly was there! She stayed extra just to do my hair! I was so appreciative! Getting back to the haircut...she took one look and she looked shocked at how awful my hair looked. She worked her magic and her artistic talent overtook my hair. I couldn't believe what a transformation took place. I did not look like the same person walking into that salon. She really took her time on me and somehow even got my hair texture to shine and look radiant (and I have thick unruly coarse hair). If I only took a before and after photo! As long as I live in Temecula, I will not allow anyone else touch my hair other than Kelly. Trying to save time and money was my mistake. I couldn't be more impressed by Chris and his ability to craft natural looking blonde highlights. I have colored my hair several times before at other salons and never gotten the blonde I've asked for. A few sparse highlights and blow dry would cost nearly $500 at my local overpriced salon in LA. My mom recommended I gave Chris a try and I am so glad I did! He works incredibly fast but doesn't overlook any detail. He highlighted nearly all of my thick curly hair (he must've done at least 50 foils) in under an hour. He finished by styling it and let me say this is the BEST blow dry I have ever received!! I have extremely curly hair that instantly frizzes in any humidity and my hair has been pin straight for 4 days and even survived the rain. I've been to Chris Clayton twice and both visits have been wonderful. It is so hard to find a gem in this area. First visit was back in April. I was going from hair that was a little over my hips with dried ends. I asked for my hair to be completely cut off till my shoulders and Kelly did it perfectly. First of all I am very particular about my hair. I'm actually very annoying that way. Typically I drive to LA to get my hair styled. I didn't have time today so I took a chance. Chris was amazing!
