I was trying to understand the scope of their services: if they printed on surfaces that weren't just canvases, board perhaps? some type of foam core? did they do anything in sizes 4"x4", 5"x7", etc. did they provide any reduced prices for a dozen or so prints. The person I dealt with talked down to me in a very harsh tone, almost yelling at me. I told her this and said I was just trying to get info to see if we could work together. I was not trying to stump her or be problematic. then she said she would give my info to the manager which I thanked her for. The manager never called. all in all, a terrible experience. And I walked away with very little info.

We are building a new combined…read morecycle plant out here and my safety committee decided they wanted to do something for Breast Cancer Month (October for those of you who live under a rock) Of course they decided this 2 weeks before the start of Oct. If you have ever worked for a large company you know it is not easy to just go an order a large amount of anything without getting 5-10 peoples approval....and so I begin the process. The materials manager was trying to call local places to see if they would work with us, most didn't call back or have a receptionist I guess who even bothered calling back. Printworx called back and spoke with our Materials manager and sent him an email almost immediately. He then fwd the email to me and we responded and worked up some pricing. She (Crysten, the owner) was great to work with, super easy and a great personality. I sent her a mock up of what we wanted and told her we were on a time crunch. She looked up multiple shirts in the hot pink color and sent me prices within a few hours. Luckily for us the shirts we wanted were on sale!! I know this all sounds simple but this was a two weeks process since the people on site (our companies and corporate) had to approve all this. Thankfully Crysten was understanding and worked with us. She got the shirts done within about 10 days. We ordered about 320, she emailed me and let me know when I could pick them up and they ended up being done earlier then expected. WHOOHOO! The shirts looked great, they were boxed and ready to go by the time I arrived, the staff loaded them into my truck and Crysten came out to meet me. She is very personable as is her staff. The guys all loved the shirts, they came out looked phenominal. I get a little nervous working with print companies for the first time, many times they can mess up the print and it can look cheap. Ours did not look cheap at all... She never charged us a screen set up fee, most likely because all the proceeds from the shirts on site were going to Breast Cancer, and it's a woman owned business so she was on board. We are looking forward to working with her a lot more in our two years here.

I also remembered attending a free lunch and learn sponsored by them and called for a quote. I had a great experience with their sales manager and appreciated his patience while I made my vendor choice and secured budget dollars. The Marketing Squad was definitely more reasonable than other video production companies, but this didn't mean sacrificed end products based on their video samples. Our team had a discovery meeting to discuss our quote, goals for the video and learn how we needed to prep for a day of footage and scripting. I was given access to their online project management system where the project and its pieces could be reviewed and discussed. This eliminated having to manage multiple emails that get lost in an Inbox. The day of filming went smoothly. We had interviews set up for 4 people and shot several hours of b-roll in our forklift shop. Our videographer, Taylor, was laid back and had an eye for shots to capture our story best. After our first review of the drafted video, he also came back out to capture another shot and sound bite. The Marketing Squad secures voice over talent and background music for our video. They're providing shorter splices of content for our social media channels and email distribution. Their team is also helping me ensure the video is set up well on YouTube. I'm excited to debut our two videos to our sales team and customers. The Marketing Squad has been a great partner in helping our company tell a story and I'm planning to budget for more videos.

A friend and I recently took a class @ Board & Brush and I am so mad at myself for not going…read moresooner. I've been to other painting classes and Board & Brush is the Cream of the Crop hands down. The process is super easy. Go online and choose your project, you can even customize what you want it to say. Once you arrive and check in they already have your seating set up, (TIP: if you are going with a friend make sure you put that friend's name down...they have a place for that when you're booking.). This place is staffed appropriately and they are like a well oiled machine. We got to our table they had the boards there and the stencils and confirm that it's to your liking. I didn't realize that we actually put the boards together, stain them along with the painting; but, don't freak out, they have everything you need and it's super fun to do that part. My friend chose a beautiful cardinal scene to put outside her front door for Christmas and I chose the gingerbread man. I did change what they had written on the website to be "Home Sweet Home". Y'all it is so fun and fulfilling to complete a project start to finish. I'm gushing so I'm gonna finish with this...don't put this off, just go. It's so much fun to do by yourself or with friends. Oh and if you want some wine they have it!! Whoo hoo!!! Trust me just go. You will enjoy it!
