At that--my estimate was entered incorrectly, my name, my address and the kicker....the agent never verified income and July 1 received a bill for almost $2,000 from Blue Cross/Blue Shield (when it should have been @222.00). Now to go through appeals, etc. Very disheartening and I would be quite wary about trusting any dollars or business with this agency. The worst staff response I have every encountered. Be careful and be forewarned. This will be my first experience to file a complaint with BBB.

Auto Owners Claim Service in Asheville NC is the worst experience I have ever had. DO NOT…read moreRECOMMEND. If you expect friendly service, timely claim resolution and fair treatment RUN, DON'T WALK to the next insurance carrier. Due to wind damage, I had a small roof claim (about $700 to roof plus interior water damage) in early April of 2023. While awaiting the results of a Auto Owners hired independent adjusters claim report, the Auto Owners adjuster handling my claim offered a "service" to tarp the roof. I asked if that would be a fee to me and she stated no, it was a free service provided by Auto Owners Ins in order to prevent further damage from and upcoming rain storm. This "free repair service" (which was provided by Auto Owners through a chosen contractor of Auto Owners) caused more damage than the cost of the initial claim. The "repair service" consisted of three other contractors (Sedgwick Repair Solutions, ServePro and Mountain Restoration aka The two guys in a little blue car) and they destroyed my roof so much so that the area roofers stated the only way to repair the damage was to replace the entire roof. After presenting this information to the adjuster from Auto Owners and her manager, they denied responsibility for the claim and told me I "was on my own" to file claim against their sub-contractors Sedgwick, Servpro and Mountain Restoration Services. After a month and a half and much infighting later, Auto-Owners continued to deny responsibility but stated to me that a check was being sent to me for the full amount of the roofing estimate. I was repeatedly assured a check was issued. Unfortunately, after I am still waiting for the check to arrive. My calls to the company go unanswered, my roof unrepaired, and my claim not paid. To make matters worse, Auto Owners did not pay the tarping subcontractor Servpro/Mountain Restoration and they sent me a bill for $839.66.

I was basically called a liar when the adjuster denied our claim after a bear tore apart one of our work trucks! Seriously, how many people actually see a bear in their car and if you do would you stop to take a picture or video? We saw him at the truck and then found the truck door open and seats torn to shreds seemed pretty straight forward when we called to report the damage. However, the email we received read "I was unable to support any of the damage claimed being related to a bear". In the process of cancelling and would absolutely NOT recommend!!
