Food and service are more than decent. However, Steelers fans beware...this is NOT a Steelers bar. Steelers decal on the front window, Steelers logo on the menu, Steelers decor on the walls BUT do not be fooled. They do not play the Steelers game on the main TV with sound. That is the only requirement for being a Steelers bar. When the Steelers are playing, 100% of the time, always, non-negotiable. The bartender advised that they USED to be a Steelers bar but now play whatever they feel like. Well I follow a keto diet but New Years Eve I was craving pizza so time for a cheat. My bf and I got a small egg plant with chicken no sauce. I would get sauce normally but dealing with acid reflux. It was delicious , fresh cooked well done. The eggplant was done right and I loved the thick crust. A little confused about Chris's today. Have ordered many times food to go. Always great, on time no real complaints. Today I decided to go in and order. Sat at the bar , ordered a top shelf on the rocks and ordered two simple foods to go. Bartender was payiing attention to most people at the bar, apparently regulars, .15 minutes finished my drink , no food, no eye contact. I heard him telling the people right next to me about his 28 years in the business. Couldn't prove it by me. Never asked about another drink another 10 minutes I had to ask if there was any chance of getting my food. He blamed it on the kitchen.How convenient . Maybe he needs to try a new profession. For a place that claims to serve New York style pizza, they manage to be decently far off. I felt like the dough was extremely thick for NY style. Also, a decent sized pizza (that I ate by myself, but I am a big guy) ended up being about $26. I feel as if there are much better options within the area. read more

This place is an amazing local pub with super friendly staff and a bunch of locals that they know by name. We came here while camping at Willow Tree to watch the Alabama football game. Decided to try a new place for carry out tonight. Chris' had New York style pizza. If you've ever been to NY the pizza there is incredible. I Ordered a 14" pizza with extra cheese, onions, and ground beef. By far the best pizza I've had since moving down to Myrtle Beach and very close if not exact to authentic NY pizza. I was so worried about the pizza that I ordered a Chef salad just in case. When the took the Chef salad out it was heavy. I couldn't imagine why. Then I opened the lid. What a nice salad they prepared. The meat was the cause of the weight. Incredible menu item. The Chef salad will have to go in the fridge for lunch or dinner tomorrow. Congratulations to the owners and staff on weathering the current virus conditions. The best kept secret in North Myrtle/Longs area. The meat pizza I ordered was excellent, moist & flavorful. My wife's Greek salad was mediocre & small. I was tempted to only give Chris's 2 stars because of their high pricing for the product served but the staff was good. The issue I have with Chris's Pizza is they charge $18, $20 and $22 for a 14", 16" and 18" pizza. That is too high a price for the product costs and product being served. The hottest pizza concepts are high heat and also VPN. MOD, Blaze and Pieology are the three hottest pizza concepts today and they use high heat (800 degree ovens) and product is ready in 3 minutes and you pay $8 for a 12" pie with as many toppings that you want and no tipping. Chris's pizza charges double what the better pizzas charge and with pizza food costs running about 29% or for Chris's their food costs are between $3.50 and $5. Pizzas should be priced $12, $14 and )16 so that is my rub. Having run many pizza companies and been blessed to have visited probably the top 50 pizza locations across the country, this is an acceptable pizza place. It is not set apart from others as many "local pizza spots" merely "follow the crowd". But the local pizza joints who stay true to the process usually beat the chains. Unfortunately Chris's is not one of them. The absolute best pizza is not Chicago style with its thick/deep dish crust (too much dough for moi) nor is it the national chains. The best pizza anywhere "bar none" is in Italy. Neapoltan pizza. With the high heat and minimal sauce sets the bar. Naples started that. They call that VPN or Vera Pizza Neapolitana. The Vera Pizza Napoletana (VPN) movement has done a good job of raising visibility for Pizza Napoletana, Italian pizza as a whole, and Artisan pizza of all stripes, and has helped everyone -- pizzeria owners and their customers -- focus on ingredients, technique, quality and a better pizza. Look for a pizza place in the US that is certified VPN and try it (they will have a sign noting VPN). What are the basic VPN Guidelines? They really are pretty simple. 1. A Wood-Burning Oven: Pizza Napoletana must be cooked in a wood-fired dome oven operating at roughly 800ºF. 2. Proper Ingredients: Tipo 00 flour, San Marzano tomatoes, all natural Fior di Latte or Bufala mozzarella, fresh basil, salt, and yeast -- only fresh, all-natural, non-processed ingredients. 3. Proper Technique: Your pizza dough must be kneaded either by hand or with a low speed mixer. No mechanical dough shaping is allowed, such as a dough press or rolling pin, and proper pizza preparation. Pizza baking time should not exceed 90 seconds. Chris's crust is a middle of the road and should be more artisan style or at least like Frank Pepe's pizza in New Haven CT/ the starting place for pizza in the US. Forget layering on a ton of sauce as that "masks" all of the flavor. As is loading on a ton of toppings is not the answer. Chris's pizza apparently uses a "pressed crust" judging from looking at the bottom of the crust. This is not my preferred way of baking the crust ( form the crust by hand Chris!!!) I do believe the recent trend of high heat for a short period of time is the way to go for baking crust. The crust at Chris's pizza and pub is a bit limp but that would be OK as that is New York style. But the crust did not have the ability to deliver on taste and crispiness. It just "sat there " very limp. It should use slightly different ingredients and hand formed. Thickness is not correct. John's pizza in New York is the BOM for a thin crust and Chris's just did not match up. The sausage had too much fennel in it and possibly some "meat extenders" in it ; a no/no). But the sauce did not have a fresh taste not were the spices acceptable. Probably a bit more oregano and some other additional spices as well are needed. I liked the interior and the service was efficient. It is an acceptable local pizza place but wish they would "raise the bar" a bit more as they have the capability to make a much better product. Not a big fan of deck ovens and they use those as well/pricing is not in line for what it costs them to make this product but it is acceptable. But on a pinch it is OK. read more

My hubby and I ate a late dinner here on 9/15/2017 @ around 7pm.... We had a little bit of a wait because they were very busy... Once we were seated, our waitress Kaci took our drink orders... When she returned with our drinks, she immediately took our food orders. Our food was very good... All homemade and fresh... Nothing out of a jar!! We have been coming to the Little River location for years. Have been away from this area for a few years so we stopped by tonight to pick up a pizza. What a disappointment. Don't know if they changed owners or cooks but it was really bad. The dough was overly thick and there were hardly any toppings or sauce. $ 17 dollars for a two item 14" pizza is bad enough- much less for poor quality. Will not be returning there again. read more
