It is shareable, if you like sharing your ice cream cone. I'm not a good sharer, but by the end of this cone, I was trying to pond it off to my husband. It was just too much. I got the chocolate hazelnut. He got the cotton candy. Both were good. This location is in a strip mall. They have a patio in the back where you can enjoy your ice cream. I personally like walking or going to a park to eat mine, so we drove up the closest place of greenery, which was in front of a hydro Ottawa building and ate our ice cream there. However, I was a bit disappointed to see that the workers were not wearing masks (note that we went June 29, 2020 and mandatory masks in indoors spaces in Ottawa was not in effect until July 7, 2020. I am assuming the workers are wearing masks now). Nonetheless the ice cream was good, but I would have liked the flavours to have been more potent. They have creative flavours, which I love. I am a traditionalist in some ways but when it comes to ice cream flavours, I love innovation. They had peach cardamom, strawberry basil, and chocolate marmalade. My husband actually went with the latter in a waffle cone. I went with a scoop of London Fog in a gluten-free cone, because well, I love all things London Fog flavoured, lol. Ice creams are $4.42 a scoop ($2 extra for an additional scoop). Waffle cones are an additional $0.75. I love that there is no extra charge for sugar cones or gluten-free cones. My London Fog ice cream only had a subtle taste of Earl Grey tea. I would loved for it to have had more of a potent flavour. The gluten-free cone was delicious! It tasted just like a regular sugar cone. It was super crispy. I loved it. I tried some of my husband's Chocolate Marmalade ice cream and it was chocolatey, but the orange flavour was also too subtle for my tastes. I would have liked a more robust orange flavour. Staff were nice. The ice cream shop is connected to Britannia Coffeehouse. To facilitate physical distancing, you enter through the ice cream shop and you exit through the cafe, so foot traffic is one way only. They also limit only 2 people or family inside the store at a given time. They sell ice cream by the pint as well. There are colourful chairs out front for you to sit and eat your ice cream. My husband and I just walked along the Britannia Park path and ate our ice cream during our stroll. The Beachconers Microcreamery is a cute place. I do like supporting locally owned businesses and I do like the idea of freshly made ice cream without preservatives. Street parking only, but we had no problems finding a spot.

The Long Version: Pomonas is a cute little cafe along the pedestrians-only part of Sparks Street. It opened in late 2025. They specialize in fresh juices and Indian chai. They also sell soft serve ice cream, other desserts and a few snacks. I dropped by on the last day of February (2026) when the temperature was actually above freezing. I feel like it's been a long winter so I rejoiced that it was 4 degrees and wished to celebrate with an ice cream. Unfortunately they were "sold out" of ice cream, so I settled on one of their Dutchman Dunkers ($2.50) which is a cookie. It was a simple chocolate chip cookie. It was fine, but nothing too special taste-wise, in my opinion. However, the staff member was friendly and had even offered to warm it up (perhaps I should have taken her up on that offer). And the cafe was clean. Their decor is minimalist. So Lokma sells Turkish donuts called Lokma, lol. They are very similar to the Greek donuts…read more(loukoumades) that Mr. Puffs sells. I think they have an affiliation with Bergham (formerly called Centrale Bergham) because these two businesses seem to be co-located, not just at this location, but from what I see, at their other locations (in Montreal) as well (this one on Bank Street is the only Ottawa location). Anyway, the lokma are are deep fried balls of dough. They fry them when you order them, so they are super fresh. You can choose a variety of sauces and toppings. We got a small order (12 pieces) for $6.99. With the small order, you can choose up to two flavours. We got the Belgian milk chocolate and the strawberry syrup. Since some of the lokma were a bit smaller than the others, we got some extra pieces. Whoo hoo! Lol. The lokma were tasty. Slightly crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I found the chocolate topping to be a bit too sweet. I liked the strawberry syrup a lot more. It was less sweet. I have had the loukoumades at Mr. Puffs on Greber Blvd in Gatineau, and I personally liked those better (crispier on the outside, chewier on the inside, and the flavours were better (apple cinnamon was so delicious, and the had blueberry too, 2 flavours that Lokma didn't have)). However, Mr. Puffs is across the river in Gatineau, a place a rarely go to, so Lokma is more convenient for me. Service was efficient. Like I mentioned earlier, Lokma is co-located with Bergham. Their ordering counters are side by side and they share a common seating area. Both businesses are in a tiny plaza, along with a Tim Hortons. There is free parking in the plaza.

I found that the vanilla cookie was a little bland, not much of a vanilla flavour. However, the Fruity Pebbles cookie tastes just like the cereal and is more flavourful. I also bought a Red Velvet mini-cake. Red Velvet is my favourite cake flavour and this one did not disappoint. The cake was moist and the cream cheese buttercream frosting was one of the best I've tasted! The mini-cakes are perfect for sharing (I was kind and shared with my husband), or devouring one on your own!
