Little did we know that the first was also the best but you gotta check around to make sure right? We've already gotten back our pictures and we loved them all. We like that he uses a lot of natural light and the colors don't seem like they went thru a bunch of instagram pictures unlike some other photographers we met with. He and his team were really professional and went with the flow of taking pictures in a rush since we were constantly behind in our timeline. Photographer is probably one of the most important vendors that we had to decide on when planning our wedding. This is the person who will follow you around for an entire day, witnessing and documenting some of your most personal and emotional moments, so it was important that we found someone we could trust and be comfortable around. We really could not be happier that we chose Chris to be the photographer for our engagement and wedding. We both are pretty laid-back but quite private, and definitely are not used to be in front of the camera. But Chris was incredibly awesome to work with - he is personable, genuine, and really knows what he is doing. We trusted his vision and ended up having a lot of fun at our engagement session. Chris is also very professional. Both on our engagement and wedding day, he arrived early to check out the lighting and location. We asked for only one shooter as we had a small wedding (less than 40 people), but Chris still managed to capture many different angles on his own and other details that we were too busy to see ourselves that day. He was also great at directing our older family members and super patient in trying to get the kids at our wedding to cooperate during group photos. Even my parents who never liked to get their pictures taken and rarely smiled for pictures were impressed by Chris's professionalism, and lamented afterward that they didn't get a chance to thank him in person for capturing our family's big day. My husband and I hired Chris for our wedding and I'm glad we did. I didn't even bother meeting with any other photographers when I met him I knew he'd be perfect! First off, he knows what he is doing. I'm not a natural model and neither is my husband but he walked us through it and made us look so natural. I met Chris through my wedding planner's recommendation. Our first impression of him was easy going, friendly, professional and believed that his personality jived well with us. We had just about 4 months to plan our wedding, and we were so glad we found a great photographer in such a short timeline! We booked him for both engagement shoot and the day of wedding. His pricing was reasonable. Most of my communications were done by email with Chris. He's quick to responding to emails. For the engagement shoot, we decided to do our engagement shoot in Old Town Pasadena and Pasadena City Hall. We agreed on when & where we would be meeting. On the day of the shoot, he was already there standing in the street corner with his equipment while my fiancé (now husband) and I were probably just no more than 5 minutes late! Meeting him face to face was easy, but with his camera in hand, I was nervous! He made the photo shoot super fun, easy and comfortable. He laughed with us, talked to us and got to know us like a friend. He helped us with our poses. He gave us pointers to keep in mind for our wedding day, like wear slim fit suit so my husband would look much taller and much slimmer (In fact, I think my husband's tux made him look so good, he became the center attention than me in my beautiful dress!) and keeping my chin out (still trying to keep that in mind!) When we received the pictures from Chris, we couldn't stop looking at them! We loved it! It's very important to do an engagement shoot with your photographer before the wedding day! It's pretty nerve wrecking to see cameras pointing at your face all day long! It can get uneasy at times. For me, my eyes would look for Chris and his camera when I was nervous with all the cameras around me. On the day of the wedding, he was scheduled to come in at 10AM. When Chris and Eden (his 2nd shooter) showed up, I thought we were already running behind schedule. My makeup was still getting done and my hair was still setting in curls. It turned out, he showed up probably about 30 minutes ahead of schedule! Chris and Eden pretty much got right to work. They took shots of everything from detailed shots of invitation to important event shots to candid shots of my guests and everything in between throughout the day. Chris and Eden had a headset to communicate with each other when they were not in the same room. It was very professional. I had people telling me how professional and nice they were. My mom really liked him because he was able to speak Cantonese with my parents and he was extremely polite when talking to them! Yes, Chris could speak both Cantonese and Mandarin quite well, it was a great plus for both of our family. Chris did all the posing positions for us for formal pictures. If he didn't see what he liked, he would change the poses, angles and positions. We trusted and relied on his creative eyes to capture the moments and all the pictures came out awesome! As bride and groom, the day gone by so fast, we couldn't remember everything that happened. It's also difficult to know if our guests were enjoying themselves during the reception. Chris and Eden captured a lot of great candid pictures throughout the day and left us laughing for awhile. I had a great experience working with Chris. He helped me capture some priceless images of my family. Family photography can be quite tricky when you are dealing with a potentially moody 5 year old girl. :) Several vital qualities about Chris made the photo shoot a complete success. First of all, he is very friendly. Once you meet him, you feel like you've known him for a long time. It sounds simple, but when you have kids, friendliness and likability goes a long way! Kids are best as sensing who is sincerely friendly and if your kid doesn't like your photographer, you might as well call it a day! My daughter liked Chris 5 minutes into the shoot. By the end of the shoot, she was so comfortable with him, she was even directing him! Chris also has impeccable attention to detail. From background, to lighting, to the position of your hair, to your posture, to where your foot goes to elongate your legs, to your arm positioning that will make your bicep look more lean, to the perfect tilt of your head to show off your cheekbones--he sees all of that and will gently guide you to obtain the perfect shot, all while keeping in mind that you are looking for that natural, candid, spontaneous feel. Chris is also very sensitive and flexible. He was able to sense when my daughter was getting frustrated and quickly changed things up to keep the flow going. And lastly, the most important thing that sets Chris apart is that he is an artist at heart and will go above and beyond to deliver. Although the agreed upon number of hours has long passed and the expected number of shots has been exceeded, he will see yet another opportunity for a great shot and continue on, until the tide has almost completely covered the beach and until the facility is making their last closing time announcement. LOVE LOVE LOVE Chris Seid Photography and all his team!! He was great since the day my husband and I met up with him. My husband and I had been looking at photographers for a while and what we liked most about Chris when meeting him and discussing what we wanted was that he specifically was the one that would be with us on our wedding day, many other photographers would charge extra for themselves being your photographer. Chris was an awesome photographer for our wedding. We remembered him from a friends wedding a few years earlier, and loved his photographs. I knew that I wanted to have him at our wedding. He was flexible with his packages and let us move our two hour engagement session to become part of our wedding hours, which really helped us meet our price point. Since we live out of the area, he chatted with us via Skype and helped us to feel comfortable and excited for our wedding. Leading up to the big day, Chris would check in and helped me to create my itinerary. On our wedding day, he and his assistant (whose name escapes me right now, but who was also VERY professional) arrived on time and really helped us make it through the day. We took pictures after our ceremony at Cerritos Sculpture Garden, and they had awesome ideas for photos. It was just a few weeks after our wedding when we received our pictures, and we were BLOWN AWAY! It took us weeks to just stop looking at them. We hired Chris and his team to shoot my wedding a few months ago. They were extremely professional and on time. We bought the engagement/wedding photography package. Our 180 min engagement photo session in Laguna Beach went a little long but Chris stayed to make sure we got the perfect sunset shot. During the wedding day, Chris was the main photographer but he also brought a second photographer and an assistant to help during the day. His assistant helped my beautiful wife keep her wedding dress looking perfect in the photos. Being the center of attention or the subject of a photography session is not really my cup of tea but Chris makes you feel comfortable and relax.
