She is changing her practice to this new concierge model (basically only for the rich) which leaves us now without a PCP as of September. She could have told me in person when myself and my kids were there. To give me a heads up so I could start looking for a new provider (considering how difficult it is to get in with anyone these days and when you do get an appointment it is at least 6-9 months out). Now I will experience a delay in my healthcare and most likely be without my meds until I can get established somewhere else. I never imagined being a middle class, hard working person with decent insurance wouldn't be enough to keep basic healthcare at Creekside. I am shocked at this decision. I didn't think Dr. Speaker was the kind of person who would abandon her patients simply because they can't afford it. Shameful! With everything happening in our country and the direction healthcare is going, we did not need this too. This is painful and heartbreaking to myself and I'm sure many other long time patients of hers. I am shocked as I have never had an unpleasant experience with the office staff nor Dr. Speaker. They are always warm, gracious and helpful. Dr. Speaker is a teacher at heart, as well as someone who works above and beyond for the patient. I'm fortunate in that a I don't need to go often but when I use the portal monthly to get prescription refills she responds right away with answers to any questions about insurance and options, if necessary. When I have my yearly physical, Dr. Speaker spends so much time with me that I begin to feel uncomfortable that we're holding up other patients waiting to see her - she is that thorough and present. And often I will walk out with referrals to specialists or names of someone/something in the community that may help. In summary, I can't say enough about Dr. Speaker. I don't know for sure how long I have been seeing her - probably around 20 years. In my 78 years I have been seen by many doctors, Dr. Speaker is the best at listening, teaching, responding and overall empathy to my health. I rarely if ever have needed to visit an emergency room and today I was here for over 8 hours (…read morestill in the lobby) Waiting and being seen in order of need is common. upon arrival there was a form being pushed across the counter while the intake person continued discussing weekend plans. From there I was shuffled and finally spoke to Triage after that it was hours of waiting. My major concern was after hours my medication wore off and I asked 4 different nurses if some one could check on additional medication. It never happened and finally I was told I'd be going to a "room" the image attached is the curtains put up where I could hear other patients private diagnosis and medical information. Additionally an RN named Sheridan led us back and let her know I was still experiencing significant nausea after several people indicated they would contact a provider. When I asked for assistance, I felt dismissed rather than having my concerns relayed to the provider. She was unpleasant, had poor bedside manner, and rolled her eyes and asked condensing questions. If you have the opportunity to avoid this place I would.

Unable to comment on the quality of the clinical care provided here, as I simply accompanied someone to their appointment, but I had ample opportunity to observe the front office staff, so review is mostly on them. Person who did checked-in was warm and helpful, as well as efficient. Staff making phone calls to reschedule a lot of people (because a doctor was going to be on vacation and unavailable on the day of their scheduled appointment) seemed very professional, efficient and considerate to the patients they were speaking with on the phone. There was one person, in particular, sitting at one of the front desks who repeatedly made inappropriate and disparaging comments about patients when speaking with her colleagues. She said things like "they all have the same excuses when they're late - they either blame it on the weather or the traffic" and then being almost gleeful about "booting" a patient who had not yet shown up and it was now beyond the time window in which they could be seen. She was actually giggling about doing this. Not very patient-centric. Her superior attitude about herself will not take her far and is very off-putting to others. This same person had numerous personal conversations about her boyfriend and her father that really were more appropriate for the lunchroom than in the front office where anyone in the waiting room was forced to hear. One characteristic that is essential for success in healthcare is genuine empathy and compassion. This young person needs extensive patient experience training if her intention is to remain in this profession.

There weren't any female doctors at the 87th location, so I decided to start coming to the Salmon Creek location. This location is very similar to the 87th location I'd been going to for years. Same spa-like feel when you walk in with water fountains and a real calming vibe. There's plenty of plush chairs and benches in the long lobby area with plenty of gender neutral restrooms and hand sanitizing stations. They also have a pharmacy and lab for bloodwork. I appreciate not having to go to different locations to get things done. They use the MyChart app, making it easy to schedule appointments, pay bills, and ask your doctor's team medical questions. It's very easy to use and I usually get responses within 24-48 hours. Overall I am happy with this Vancouver Clinic location. I will continue to come here for as long as my PCP is available.

The very next day, I was told I owed hundreds of dollars because the provider was actually out of network. When I explained that I had called in advance and was explicitly told otherwise, the response I received was shockingly dismissive and condescending: "It doesn't matter," followed by, "You owe this amount, and we don't negotiate." No one should be treated this way, especially when they're already dealing with health concerns. The lack of accountability, compassion, and professionalism was incredibly disappointing. Be sure to verify everything yourself before receiving care--I felt this was a classic bait-and-switch experience.

I called my insurance to verify what is needed and my insurance stated that I can go to see any doctor of my choice. This office was rude over the phone, and continued to tell me that once they reviewed my request that "someone" would get back to me. I had to go to urgent care just so that I could get a referral to see a stomach specialist, as this doctor's office was very proprietary of my health information. This office charges a fee to disclose my health information to me. They do not call patients back when requested to do so, and do not refer out should you need more specialized care. When I last complained about my symptoms, I was told to go to a "naturopath" for pain that I have had for a long time. This office is rude, slow, and wanted to charge me just to tell me my lab results, which my doctor back home would discuss with me quickly over the phone assuming everything was ok. She mentioned that if I wanted to see the Dr. Rick I would have to join their "VIP" program. I was dumbfounded! She proceeded to explain the purpose of the "VIP" program was to keep Dr. Rick's patient pool small so he can provide better care and attention to each patient. I informed the front desk after my appointment that I will not be returning. See attached pictures from their website that states the membership fee of $150/month or $1800/year to see this doctor. If this was mentioned during the appointment booking or even when I was filling out my new patient paperwork I would've never let them charge my credit card for this visit. Now I've used up my one annual exam with my insurance and I need to wait until next year before I can attempt to establish care with a primary care physician.

Her X-ray was finished at 3:55 AM, yet we were left in the waiting room with zero consultation or answers until 9:00 AM. Overall, we were stuck there for nearly 14 hours just to get a diagnosis. We didn't need a bed; we needed a doctor to review her results and tell us if she was safe. The front desk conduct was appalling. A receptionist named Marella told me she "DID NOT CARE" my sister was coughing up blood and intentionally flipped her ID badge to hide her name (a violation of WA law). Another staff member earlier that morning refused to provide a grievance form. While the clinical staff was kind and attentive once they finally saw us at 9:00 AM, the 13+ hour total time spent for a respiratory emergency is a massive safety risk. Formal reports have been filed with the WA Department of Health and Legacy Leadership. Avoid this ER.

The staff in this hospital have been there for me and my family through many important, and a few times, heartbreaking moments. I witnessed firsthand the labor and delivery staff's joyful exuberance in caring for my friend's newborn child; these people love what they do for a living! I recently witnessed the doctors and nurses care for my grandmother after a traumatic fall that resulted in the diagnosis of terminal illnesses and a monthlong hospital stay. I've also been treated in this hospital and received quality care at a time in my life where I wasn't sure how I would pay my medical bills. I'm happy to say care comes first here, and over the years it has been nothing short of outstanding. Here's where things get problematic. Hospitals are public institutions that cater to a wide range of patients who have vastly different needs. It's impossible to accurately predict the outcome in any situation, especially with so many unpredictable factors at play. But I feel it is important for me to say the caliber of care my friends, family and I have received at Legacy Salmon Creek has never been anything short of amazing. The doctors, nurses, technicians and admin staff have always been patient, understanding, and extremely dedicated to healing those in their care. I've always been impressed by the hospital's commitment to basic human decency as it shines through in every interaction. I'm telling you, this is the only hospital in the area I would want to receive care. Clearly, hospitals aren't always perfect, and my heart goes out to anyone who has had challenging and frustrating experiences here. Just know, from my personal experience, I can say that Legacy Salmon Creek has been a model of quality care and compassionate service when it mattered most. Areas for improvement: Please find some funding for staffing the hospital giftshop! I haven't seen it open once during the last month of regular visits to see my grandmother. Also, I'd love for there to be wheelchairs or assistance available for people with mobility issues who want to visit family receiving care. This may be available, but I've not found these resources during any of my visits.
