I googled "christian churches, tustin" a while back and Hope populated at the top. I had been meaning to check it out for some time. I thought it would be randomly ideal to attend their Christmas Eve, 11pm candlelight service. Why not? Once visited, forever blessed. Warm faces on a frigid night, welcoming members, and most importantly, Jesus Christ at the forefront. The Holy Spirit was present in the dwelling as well as the people's hearts. Laden in bold truth wrapped in humility, the pastor (Josh I believe) wasn't pining for money, attendance, attention, or obedience. Grace for past and future sins, paid by the love of Jesus is what was related. Hope is definitely a cozy, special church, and I encourage you to visit. Thank you.

I have been at Calvary for 22 years, after moving to Orange County and looking all over for a…read morechurch. I raised three children in this church from the nursery through youth group. A few things I love: 1. Calvary is a multigenerational church: there are many white/gray hairs, people who have lived life and stayed faithful who you can learn from. There are also a lot of younger people and young families. 2. This is not a tiny church, and it's not a mega church. There are many opportunities to serve and grow. But it isn't impersonal or over-produced like some mega churches. 3. Calvary church is very missional -- they support many organizations and missionaries in Orange County and around the world. They support over 1 MILLION dollars in missions, local and world, pop up pantry, orange county rescue mission, birth choice, etc. 4. The church has a spanish speaking service, a mandarin service, and its located in Santa Ana. People are down to earth, and there is diversity. 5. Finally the church has solid biblical teaching -- I have grown spiritually at this place, learned more about Jesus and His Word.

A quick way to learn about the focus of this church is to listen to the CalvaryLife podcast. It…read morefeatures the two lead pastors. You'll be able to quickly determine what has shaped them based on their default conversation. Modern culture dominates the conversation, and you'll quickly learn about their personal lives, their travel experiences, what they did last weekend. Then they'll critique each other's sermon from the previous Sunday. You may like how cool they are with the latest youth culture lingo and slang. Everything is super casual and informal. It seems like this is what the congregation wants so it works, I guess. It's like an adult version of youth group.
