After reading all the negative reviews, I felt I had to say something... My kids have been in this school for the past 4 years, yes we had some rough days due to our past principle (who was just not cut out for the position); however the teachers I have had in my kid's lives, have been BEYOND amazing. My son, was not only taught but loved. The Pre-K, teacher mentioned in a previous review is nothing but loving, and yes, she is a little stern at times BUT I welcome that, because kids need to learn. I realized that some parents today don't value or accept structure and discipline, and it's a shame. I came across so many parents who would say that because they "PAY TUITION" they should have special accommodations... My only comment to that is, What are you teaching your child??? The school now has a new principle, and after doing some research the new principle comes from a great school, so I know CTT will have a great year. It's a sad that people feel this way about the school, because I know first hand this school is great and my kids love it! read more

This assessment is offered not in malice, but as a necessary and candid account for parents considering enrollment. The foundational issue appears to be a systemic one of demeanor and empathy, starting with key personnel. While many individuals may be well-intentioned, the general disposition of the administrative and support staff is often dismissive and unaccommodating. This is most critically exemplified by the school nurse, whose interactions lack the fundamental compassion one would expect from a role dedicated to student care and well-being. Furthermore, our direct engagements with the teacher, Ms. Iannone, were consistently marked by a startling lack of professionalism and patience. Conversations that should have been collaborative efforts between educators and parents were instead characterized by condescension and defensiveness. Most alarming, however, are the policies and attitudes affecting the children's daily welfare. We were deeply troubled to learn that young students are not permitted to receive assistance from teachers when needing to use the bathroom. We were called twice to go pick up my daughter or ultimately help her with potty time as they were not able to do so. Ridiculous. For the early childhood grades, this policy is not merely impractical; it is a failure in duty of care that places an unreasonable and potentially distressing burden on small children. This lack of basic support extends to the emotional realm. The expectation that young children, many for whom this is a first school experience, should not cry, is both developmentally inappropriate and deeply concerning. A child's natural expression of anxiety or sadness in a new environment should be met with comfort and guidance, not with an implicit demand for suppression. The school's approach in this regard seems to prioritize rigid control over emotional well-being. Multiple issues were experienced one after another, but the final incident was a phone call from the teacher -- a call that left me shocked. To begin with, I didn't even realize it was the teacher calling; she immediately began yelling and demanding that we pick up my daughter right away, claiming my daughter was crying and stating -- in her exact words -- "This is unacceptable." I calmly replied that I was at work and would inform my husband, asking her to please give us some time. Her response was, "I don't care. Just tell your husband to pick her up now," before abruptly hanging up. I was left shaken and speechless. Sadly, this truly happened, and it perfectly reflects the way they conduct themselves. I can only imagine how they behave behind closed doors with the children. On the first day of school, the staff welcomed us with wide smiles, but it didn't take long for their true colors to show. My daughter attended for less than a week. Although the registration fee was listed as non-refundable, we still inquired whether an exception or partial refund could be made. We were instructed to send an email to see if something could be done. After weeks of unanswered emails and having to go in person to follow up, we finally received the standard, robotic response: "I'm sorry, it is non-refundable. There is nothing we can do." We then requested that my daughter's school supplies -- which we had recently provided -- be returned to us. The staff assured us that they would have everything ready for pickup the following Tuesday. We arrived at the agreed time, well before dismissal hours, only to find the doors locked and no one responding. When we returned the next day, we were told -- in vague, roundabout terms -- that they were unaware of our visit and could not locate the supplies. We pointed out that every single item had been clearly labeled with my daughter's name in permanent marker, making it hard to believe they were "lost." Of course, they had no further explanation. In the end, not only did we experience unprofessional and malicious behavior, but we also never recovered our daughter's belongings. Please, save yourself the frustration. This so-called church-affiliated institution is merely a façade -- they care only about money, not children. Protect your child and your peace of mind by choosing a better institution. To this day, if I even mention the name of the school or the teacher, my daughter begins to cry and says, "Please, no. I want to stay home." If I can give 0 stars I would. Let me start out by saying not all the teachers are horrible and there are many who do, in fact, love to teach. I have several issues with the current principal and her lack of addressing the serious bullying issues in the school. In the beginning of the school year my daughter was extremely upset because her teacher ate her snack. When I approached the the teacher at pickup, she berated my daughter and I in front of the other parents saying that "everything bothers her" and then excusing her own behavior by saying "I only tasted one piece of her snack". I proceeded to tell her eating my child's snack is not a huge deal but her defensive behavior is unacceptable. This left an unfavorable impression of this teacher for the remainder of the school year and made it extremely difficult to approach her. When addressed with bullying I was told they do not use that word in the school and that they would address the issue. My child was threatened by another student and the principal had a conference with my then 1st grader without my knowledge or permission. Not only was the situation handled extremely poorly, but nothing was resolved. The principal expected my child to write a statement of what happened when she was just learning to make sentences! It's absurd! It's concerning when you have your always happy child coming home from school crying everyday or saying that school is taking away from time being spent with family. Please save your child the emotional turmoil and find a different school. read more

My daughter has been in school for 2 years and we absolutely LOVE the school. From the teachers to the principal and the staff, this school is run by an amazing group of people. In her 2 years at CTT, my daughter has learned so much. We are very happy with the academic rigor this school offers along with an acute focus on imparting good moral values to the kids. I recommend this school wholeheartedly to any parents who are looking for a caring and nurturing environment where the kids have a ton of fun learning. read more

I have been a parent of two CTT students for the last 11 years. My son graduated and he is a BCA high school student. My daughter is still attending CTT. Both of them have made great friends there. Both of them represented CTT in inter-school competitions, along with their friends, and did very well when compared with other schools. Unlike other private schools, we have come to learn that the CTT culture is one that will allow your kids to grow independently, which is an important skill to learn. They just received Blue Ribbons this year and will be working on achieving the Academy status! We are grateful for the staff, past and present, and pray that CTT will continue its steadfast mission through both good times and hard times! read more

After a year in this school our daughter was removed. Not soon enough!! The principal and management are less then accommodating and very difficult to work with. They don't understand how to accommodate children with parents not together. They do know how to favor the parent that pays the bill. This school had it share of challenges. However, it remained steadfast in its mission to teach kids from academics e.g. stem (science, math, technology), to art, to reading/grammar, to interesting projects e.g. ancient Egypt, American Indians, periodic table of elements, to sports e.g. soccer, basketball and school/community events e.g. Christmas concert, Halloween parade, outreach programs for the less fortunate. The diversity of students is a great plus as they learn to interact with kids of different race, color and socio-economic backgrounds. Recently, it achieved blue ribbon status for high academic performance, and as a parent who have been working with the school administration, teachers, for the last 5 to 6 years, is truly rewarding. I would encourage parents to visit the school, look/listen at the classrooms, walk the hallway, talk to teachers/parents/and students, and assess if this school provides the nurturing environment that will challenge your most prize possessions (your kids) to be responsible, respectful and confident leaders. read more

Former student from grades K-8. Love this school, it instilled in me good Catholic values in my adult life. I truly believe that I was given a world class education at this school. For example, I learned the Amendments in 4th grade, and still know them thanks to my social studies teacher at CTT. I'm getting my bachelors degree now, and going to law school. People in my classes still do not know the basic things I've learned at CTT such as the Bill of Rights, or what the branches of government are. Yes the school is a little dysfunctional, I've been "bullied" at CTT, but we were kids in a very small classroom, someone is going to get picked on eventually. The people who used to pick on me are people that I sit and have a beer with to this day. I don't know what other people have experienced, but I'm happy to have graduated from this school and I'm still grateful for the friends and education that it has given to me. read more

We had a really terrible experience at this school, which resulted in pulling my daughter out of this school in order to preserve her psychological well being. During the firsts days of my daughter being there, I noticed her teacher, pre k4 A, was rather rough handling the children (pulled their arms to get them out in the area where parents are supposed to pick them up). During the next few weeks, my daughter keep bringing up the name of certain classmate, which my daughter said called her "a bad girl" in one occasion and in other called her "stupid". I spoke to the teacher about this in the nicest way possible. I told her this little girl was calling my daughter those names and I wasn't comfortable with that kind of interactions amongst them. To just please keep an eye and if possible, to keep them separate. The teacher said it was impossible and that the other student was "a little peanut and sweet and she would never do that". The same day, while picking up my daughter from school, I sew her on the back of the line (which she never was as I was always one of the firsts parents waiting for pick up) with her jacket unzippered and sad. When she saw me, she didn't even say hello, only said: "Mom, Mrs Evangelou said that I make up stories, to stop making up stories or she'll send me upstairs". I asked her: "where is upstairs, what do you do there?" She said: "nothing, just sit and sit. I was so mad and emotional, I thought it was best for my husband to go to the principal and request to change my daughter to the other pre K (B). Our complaints went to deaf ears. My husband had to end up defending himself and my daughter. The teacher denied everything and we are still, until today, waiting for a call back from the principal answering to out request to have out daughter moved to the other class. I wasn't comfortable sending my daughter to this lady's class because I consider her a bully and I didn't trust her anymore to treat my daughter with love or fairness. My daughter was absent from school for 1 week and a half and the principal didn't even know. My daughter has been out of school for 3 weeks now, we even called the school superintendent, who said the school was going to give us a call back, but we are still waiting. In summary, I had such high hopes for this school. All of them shattered. If you send your kid here, make sure she doesn't go to prek4 A. The school goes through a big effort to post pictures of happy kids on their Facebook page and their website (my kid appears on many of them), but if you ever have a problem or something to say, they just don't deal with you.
