He stopped by on his way home from the hospital after his wife just gave birth to his child a couple hours after I spoke with him. Without asking for payment, Christian climbed on the roof of the house and disconnected the wires to make sure they were safe and then would have a very reasonable estimate ready for me that day. Excellent service, quality work, and a good price like others have said. I selected Christian because he seemed curious and shared my desire to get to the root of the problem. Christian gave me a thorough and free inspection and estimate to get several ceiling fans working again in our home, none of which had worked for several months after a circuit breaker tripped and refused to be reset. He estimated 6 hours of labor to troubleshoot and to figure out why one of our ceiling fans had never worked (spoiler: it was fully dead, not a wiring problem). He found evidence of mice gnawing a wire in our attic and even helpfully removed some unrelated junk left in the attic by a previous contractor. And he did it in 4 hours and adjusted the price on the invoice accordingly! To give some contrast both on Christian's pricing and diagnostic approach, I had another contractor who charged an up-front fee for an inspection and estimate (not unreasonable, as the inspection often _is_ the work when problem-solving). That contractor said he thought we should replace our old ceiling fans first and then diagnose the circuit breaker problems if they still occurred; he supposed a bound-up fan motor was causing the breakers to trip. He said he would charge a flat fee to figure out what the problem is, no matter how long it took, nearly equal to Christian's original estimate for 6h of labor. Christian said he didn't think it was likely for a seized up fan motor to be the problem--and he was right! We saved time and money going with Christian, and I learned some things, too--like what ceiling fans are on which circuits, what circuit breakers to buy to replace the old arc-fault ones, that rodent(s) in the attic had likely caused the short (we're addressing that now), and (unrelated) what model of attic ventilation fans we have. Thanks for the great work, Christian! We'll call you back to install some hard-to-reach ceiling fans in a couple weeks now that you have repaired the circuitry! read more

Wasted 4 weeks of my time, pushing the start date back TWICE just to cancel on me a few days before work was supposed to start for a panel upgrade. Unless you have time too wait around a few weeks and go through rescheduling multiple times, find someone else. Don't waste your time. To anyone and everyone searching for an electrician look no more! Christian Thieret is the man! My house is historic (150+ years old) so my electrical was very out dated and in need of an update. I went online searching through many home improvement websites and came across Christian's bio here on Yelp. First and foremost I have to say the initial estimate was the easiest I've ever encounterd. I just sent him a few pictures of what he asked for and he gave me a quote based on that. All the other companies wanted to charge a fee to come out that would be "applied" to the repair cost. Not only did I get an instant quote, it was VERY reasonable. Especially reasonable considering he's a union member of the IBEW (International Bureau of Electrical Workers). I set up an appointment for a Saturday morning and he was here on time as scheduled. He told us that our power would be out for a few hours and then gave us some time to finish up a few things we had going on. Who would have thought that electricty would affect an electric stove LOL. Long story short a few hours later I had brand new panel boxes that are safe and up to code. And everything is now very clean and neat. The old panel boxes were a mess. So as I said earlier to anyone in need of electrical work call Christian first. I was so impressed with his work that I'm going to be calling him back out to install some additional plugs throughout the house.
