Was there on Sunday morning for Breakfast, despite the negative response to the suggestion from my boyfriend. The previous and only other time we went it smelled like toilet the whole time, but I figured we were sitting pretty close to the bathroom, let's give it another chance. So I convinced him to go and what do you know - we walk in and it stinks. But, we didn't leave, instead we chose to sit outside on a pretty neat little back patio.
The server was okay, but way too frantic. She was nice but very abrupt, and not accommodating. She kept forgetting waters and coffees, and kept blaming it on how "busy it is inside, we've got so many people inside" - are we not people too? If you asked her for anything she'd get so defensive, and often forget it anyway. And she wasn't keen on describing dishes, she always seemed like she wanted to get away from us, which I understand is due to the fact that she had other tables waiting on her, but we deserve to feel like a priority as customers.
Besides the service, which I could probably forgive if that was the only thing wrong with my experience, the food and drinks were altogether gross. The water was served in plastic cups that were dirty and tasted horrible, and when I got my breakfast (just the regular one) my eggs were raw. There was still clear white goop. I was disgusted. I tried to eat it, but I ended up sending it back, to which the server replies to me saying, "If I was the chef I'd give it to you for free" - ummm, no. I didn't eat it, it was disgusting. I responded, "wait, I'm going to have to pay for that?" and she replies, "I'll see what I can do". What kind of service is that? As she walked off I reminded her I'd pay for my chocolate milk, the only thing I got that I liked. I even ordered another one, but never got it.
Finally, she brought us our bills without asking if we'd like them, at which point she said, "yeah, I know I didn't bring the other chocolate milk but I didn't charge you for it!". "No.... problem....?". The restaurant did take my meal off the bill, good on them. But oddly enough, the bill for my boyfriend and my breakfast was still 15.54 - for one breakfast, his coffee and my chocolate milk. I took one look at the bill and she immediately becomes defensive again, claiming, "I double checked it, it's right!". I guess a 5.99 breakfast turns into 15.54 when they don't give free refills on coffees (effklgdfk?! right?!).
To top it off at the end of it all, while my boyfriend paid he set his cigarettes on the table and the server asks him for one! I will NEVER return. And btw, this is the only YELP review I have ever written, so take it from me. Stay away. read more
