Labor Day brunch 2025. Visiting from the USA . We read the Yelp reviews, rated as a 4, it was pretty close to the Holiday Inn where we were staying. Good to go. Let's check it out. The four of us were seated quickly. We didn't like the locale of the table originally designated but they had no problem allowing a change to a more suitable table. Standard USA diner look and feel. Very welcoming, very friendly, busy and buzzing. Visiting from the States? This feels like home. Best part of the experience here was HILDA our server. Her performance was exemplary. Very polite, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable & attentive. I wish every server performed at her level. She could be a server at a high end establishment, for sure. Seemed to take pride in her work. Thanks, Hilda. I'll also mention that the manager/owner checked on our table as well. Which is always appropriate & appreciated. I usually get more detailed about the food but, honestly, this is pretty much standard diner style fare you can get at any good diner in the USA. Simple food, done well in a friend atmosphere. This is our third time at Scoops, and whenever we visit Niagara Falls in the morning, it's our go-to spot for breakfast or brunch. It's located near the old outlet mall, away from the tourist crowds. My partner and I both ordered our usual dishes: she had her favourite eggs Benedict, which is the country Benedict, and I had the Hercules omelette. My other family member also ordered the Hercules omelette, and we tried the chocolate Belgian waffle as well. The Hercules omelette was absolutely delicious! The gyros and feta were so fresh and flavorful, and the saltiness on the omelette was just perfect. The home fries were cooked to my liking, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My partner always orders the country egg Benedict, and it's always a hit. The egg Benedict reminds her of Thanksgiving, and it feels like a homemade meal. The turkey and cranberry combination is always a classic, and it's just so comforting. As for the Belgian waffles, they were okay. Nothing fancy, but we ordered the chocolate chip just to add a bit of flavour. It was like a little dessert for us. Overall, we always love coming back to Scoops. The staff is always so friendly and attentive, and the food is always great. We've been coming here for so long that it's become a part of our routine. read more

When in the area we always have breakfast at this restaurant. The food is excellent with portions so large we hardly ever are able to finish what we order. Our main reason for coming here is the wonderfully delightful waitress. She makes you feel like you are eating at her home and no one else is around. Recommended to us by a local, it was a short drive from that attractions and our accommodations at the falls. The menu was not as expensive as I would have liked. I ended up with a rubber and hubby a Santa fe wrap. Each were in the $12 to $15 range and literally served with nothing, not even chips or pickles! Assuming they took credit, was worried when they didn't as all we had was US currency. They did give us a 10% discount as opposed to actual exchange rate which is in the 25% range, but provided change back in CAN currency. If I could go back in time I would have skipped dining here. Got breakfast from here while visiting Niagara Falls. I had the Hungry Greek breakfast ($16.29 CAD) which came with three eggs, two pieces of sausage, two pieces of baco, and two pancakes, along with a side of home fries, and toast. Everything was really great though I didn't really care for the home fries muchIf I had known, I would've asked for them to be more crisp. definitely order again to try more things on the menu though. An amazing breakfast option for anyone in the Niagara Falls area! I loved the atmosphere of this diner and listening to the regular customers and staff interact was heart-warming! I went with the Canadian Bacon and Eggs breakfast, which was a very good amount of food for the $9 price tag! The side of fruit was also unique, as it included pineapple, apple, and cantaloupe. All of the fruit tasted super fresh! My girlfriend had the Belgium waffles with strawberries. The strawberries were nice and warm as well, almost forming a jam consistency, which paired really nicely with the waffle! Everything was very affordable, the food was delicious, and the staff was super friendly, all which made for memorable experience! read more

I discovered Scoops a year ago when I visited Niagara Falls for my birthday. Nothing was open, but they were delivering and I ordered breakfast from them three times. I'd never tried hollandaise sauce before and was addicted the moment I did. I had three separate dishes, all with different versions of the hollandaise. This year, I knew I had to return. Everything was open after the pandemic, and I was excited about seeing the restaurant in person instead of ordering delivery to my hotel room. Imagine my disappointment when I showed up only to learn they had been forced to switch vendors for the hollandaise and it was no longer gluten-free. Was this their fault, probably not. But the entire reason I had returned was for that hollandaise sauce. It was very disappointing. It's so darn hard for GF people to get to eat what they want and this was just another NO. BUT on the flip side, I did mention I was GF after I ordered, which I usually never do. The server, Vespa, said the hollandaise was new and NOT GF, which meant I didn't get to have what I ordered. I settled for the special, which was a Philly Cheesesteak skillet. I felt sad, but this couple came in and he saw my food when it was delivered and asked what it was. I told him and he ordered the same thing and kept telling the waitress I should get my meal for free for the recommendation. He told me his wife had been in the hospital and he was taking her out for breakfast. The breakfast was very good, don't get me wrong. The eggs were poached perfectly and the side of bacon was great, except for one piece that was a little raw. The coffee was very good. The restaurant was clean and had parking. The waitresses checked in on me often and refilled my coffee. I just really missed that hollandaise. If that's the entire reason you're going to eat at a restaurant, it's very hard when you know you can't have what you want, yet again, due to your stupid dietary restriction. I know it may have been hard for them to source the hollandaise sauce from the former source, but my question is, why not make it yourself? I've made hollandaise and the recipe is gluten-free. If you're a restaurant with a claim to fame for your hollandaise, why aren't you making it yourself? That is the reason for the ding of one star. I have to admit I was kind of shocked to discover Scoops does NOT make its own hollandaise sauce. If they did, most would be able to enjoy it. So, yes, I was disappointed, but the food was very good, even if I didn't get to order what I wanted. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. And that guy who ordered the same breakfast was an unexpected treat. Certainly, a lesson in where you think what you order comes from, but also still a delicious spot for breakfast. I will call before visiting again to check the status of the hollandaise, but barring gluten-laden hollandaise will most likely visit again. read more

Patio seating is really on the sidewalk. Better than nothing! I loved how they clean the tables and chairs immediately after people leave. It was a huge portion could t even finish the size of the breakfast. Coffee was delicious constant refills. Instead of fries I like how the hash/ potatoes were slices. read more

Very good place to eat. Very busy - Packed for breakfast during my 0900 visit on a Sunday morning. Clean, comfortable and efficient use of the small storefront like space it occupies. Staff is friendly. Coffee is great and the staff keeps it flowing into our cups. Meals are fair priced and sized, not small or large. The French toast is cooked and seasoned just tight - yummy. The veggie omelet is good. Peameal ham is thick, nice size, thick and a bit salty, making it tasty. Homefries are seasoned with Greek seasoning making them interesting on the tasty side. But mine were a bit more soft, mushy than I prefer. Still, they were good and better than being full of grease and fried. I highly recommend this establishment. Sadly the owner, Steve, ended our meal by telling us he had our table reserved in 15 minutes. So we had to rush finishing our meal which we felt was rude. read more

We stopped by here for breakfast and had a stellar experience. I'm really glad we decided to make the drive (they have free parking) because the prices are very affordable, the service is amazing, the food is scrumptious and the menu has lots of gluten free options. Both my boyfriend and I ordered the Spanish omelette. His came with whole grain bread and mine came with a white gluten free bread. To my surprise, the home fries were gluten free too. Score! That was a double win. The omelette was made with bacon, sausage, onion, peppers and warm salsa. I choose this dish, since I don't typically have these ingredients in my fridge at home. Typical local small diner. Our server was very nice and attentive. Service with a smile. The food was average. For the price, you get a generous portion of food. However, the quality of the food is a bit underwhelming. Their home fries are not the typical home fries that are much smaller and fried crispy. My husband and I ate the Big Greek Breakfast which consisted of two stips of bacon, 2 sausages, potatoes, 2 pancakes and 2 slices of toast. It ran $17 Canadian but we split it between the two of us and had plenty. The sausage is different but we're from the US and it seemed more like British bangers to me. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly and tasted great. I definitely recommend this place for a tasty, budget-friendly breakfast. Great hole in the wall spot and gets you away from the tourist traps and into the actual real life of Niagara. We had a nice morning walk from the falls (3 miles) to work up our appetite and we were greeted with friendly faces and immediately seated! Staff was excellent and quick. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are allot of positive reviews but my experience was not a positive one. We had breakfast here during the heatwave on July 1 and it was like a sauna in the restaurant, no air conditioning. We ordered a side of fruit and never received it, we also ordered the Chef's special breakfast and received a standard breakfast instead, and we never received the side of fruit we ordered. When paying for our breakfast we expressed the error the waitress made in our order and we did receive an apology. read more

If you're coming from the U.S. beware. First the good: The service was great. Everyone we encountered was friendly, polite, and attentive. There food was well prepared, with all orders coming out correctly. Now the less good: While well prepared, the food was only good, which did booty justify the inflated prices. The restaurant does not accept American credit cards and, even though the menu prices are in Canadian currency, they charge the same in U.S dollars, conversation be damned. And when you pay in U.S, they give your Canadian change. All told, we paid $70 for a meat lovers omelette, an eggs and meat breakfast special, a kids pncake meal, and one half order of chocolate chip pancakes. We had almost identical orders yesterday st a nearby establishment with far better quality food for about $45 U.S. In sum, service is good, food is average, and the value is atrocious. I don't mind paying more for a good meal, but I do mind paying more money for a lesser experience than you can get at many nearby establishments. read more

Furthermore, in the end they shorted us 65 Canadian dollars (about 50 American dollars) when we paid American cash. The worst part is they played dumb the whole time even though they knew exactly what they were doing. TERRIBLE way to swindle tourists. We came here after reading good reviews, it's reasonably priced which is always a good thing in Niagara Falls. The food is decent, nothing spectacular, but good food and good portions. If you like your bacon crisp make sure to mention it, it was very flabby. Service is amazing, your coffee cup will never be empty or even half empty! By the time we left there was a huge line outside. Not a lot of seating and it doesn't have the most appealing look, but the friendliness and amazing services makes up for it! read more

I've had the Eggs Benedict's they offer here and can report that they are egg-celent (bah-DUM-dum!). The eggs are very good here as is the toast. The potatoes are ok and according to my niece, the pancakes here taste "really really good." That says a lot because she never says "Really really." Maybe a "Really" but two of 'em. She lobbied for me to make this a 5 Star place. I gave it a 3.5 but because the service was great, let's bump it up to 4 Stars. For under CDN$10, you can order the Meat Eater Special which comes with (2) eggs as u like, potatoes, toast and bacon, Texas sausage and Canadian Bacon.
