I've been to Christinas a few times over the years, but my recent visit was the best one by far. Maybe it's because it was early Sunday lunch before the crowds arrived, but the food tasted way better than it had ever did and the service was impeccable. We got: - Saganaki: Ooey gooey fired cheesiness like saganaki should be. - Grilled Calamari meal: Calamari was perfectly cooked (glistening, smooth, not rubbery) and had a salty-tasty flavour. The rice had a perfect texture, almost 'al dente' to match the tenderness of the calamari. The veggie portions were generous. - Mussels: Portion size was good though the mussels themselves were small. Would have liked them a bit jigger and more plump. Great base sauce though (tasted rich like butter without having any butter). Prices were a bit high, but think that's how prices are everywhere these days. As mentioned earlier, service was great: helpful with advice, friendly in demeanor, efficient in speed. We attended a birthday party at Christina's on Friday, July4th, 2025. There were about 40 people in our group and there was already a din of people attempting to talk/yell at each other....and then the music started. There was a keyboardist with synthesized back up tracks for all of the tunes. There were at least 2 large speakers mounted on the wall and the volume was super loud. After a while, there was also a female singer and her microphone was set at a very high volume. I asked one of the waiters if he could ask the musicians to turn down the volume. As usual, nothing was done. Even though the food was reasonably good, the noise was so punishing over that 3 hour period that we have decided that in future, we won't be patronizing Christina's due to the unpleasant volume level/ambience and the failure of the restaurant's supervisory staff to address this noise problem(sadly, very common in so many Toronto eateries)! read more

Tried out their chicken souvlaki wrap and carbonara a few weeks ago for dinner. The chicken souvlaki had good flavours. The chicken was well marinated and tender. Portion size was small and just a few pieces of small chicken in the wrap. The carbonara was more disappointing. Wasn't enough sauce and tasted very bland. I needed to add more cheese and some creamy sauce I had in the fridge to make it more exciting. read more

If I could give zero star, I would... On the Father's day we ordered a seafood plater. It's not our first time getting this. We had the same seafood plater back in Feb and it was always delightful. However, this time is super awful: The mussels were clearly rotten as many of them were not complete mussels, they smell and taste both rotten. I can't imagine any restaurants in the world that would be serving rotten seafood to customers! The same problems existed with the lobster. First of all they were very small and some parts were turning black... In February the restaurant provided the tools needed to eat the lodster, the shell cracker and the small fork to open the lobster/mussels, but this time we had to ask for the utensils and they said they don't have any... which might make sense as the food was all rotten so we didn't need them to eat them at the end... There were also a lot of food flies at our table. It's not even a hot/humid summer time. Either because the food was rotten and it attracted the flies, or there is a serious hygiene problem in the restaurant... or both! We asked for hot water and the waiter said there's no hot water in the restaurant.... We used to think Christinas is one of our fav restaurant in Greektown. However something must have gone wrong with the management. On the father's day we saw most of the neighboring restaurants were packed but including us there were only 4 tables of customers in Christinas! Looks like they are closing down or something. High price, small portions, bad fries, gluey dolmades. The meal was underwhelming at best.

I am extremely disappointed by the experience I had today (June 19th 2022) and likely will never *EVER* come back. I have been coming here for years but ever since Covid-19 let up, the quality of service and food has gone down considerably while the prices have gone up. We started by ordering Saganaki and 2 Fix Beers. The Saganaki took what seemed like forever to get out to us and the beers were warm. My parents ordered the Chicken and Pork Souvlakis while I ordered the Lamb. My souvlaki came with Coleslaw and Greek Salad however I do not eat either of them. I asked Martin our server if I could substitute more rice and potatoes for the salad and coleslaw but was told that the rice and potatoes were "generous portions". Based on that description I skipped the substitution and took the salad home for my father. The Lamb Souvlaki was 28 dollars and the portions were so small that I was questioning why it cost so much. The portions were by no means generous and were not worth $28.00. When we received the Saganaki they did not bring any bread for it. They gave us lukewarm cheese which was barely edible. To add insult to injury it took forever to bring *ANY* bread to our table to begin with. We arrived at 1 PM and by 2:15 we *FINALLY* got our food. We had to wait an hour for our food while people who came in after us got their appetizers. Not just one person.. 2 other tables that came in after us got food before we did despite us ordering first. My father wanted to order a second Fix Beer but apparently they ran out. They had none and he had to settle for Sol which is not what he wanted. When the hostess went to refill our water glasses, she emptied the jug before filling my parents glasses. She told us she would come back to finish filling the glasses but instead starting cleaning up the patio. We had to remind her we needed water or else we would not have got any. When I went to pay, the credit machine failed and the server needed to get a second machine. Tax, Dinner and a (10%) tip came to $160.05 for the following: -3 Beers -Lamb Souvlaki Dinner -Pork Souvlaki Dinner -Chicken Souvlaki DInner -Saganaki The food was very much not worth it, the service was horrid and I regret coming here. I will not recommend Christina's to my friends and family in fact I will tell them to avoid it. The restaurant has gone down hill rather severely after the pandemic and I do not expect it to last the year. Avoid this place, go to one of the many other Greek restaurants on the Danforth. read more

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a Greek dinner at Christina's on The Danforth! Their hummus was extra earthy, I believe thanks to a hint of coriander??? The Greek salad looked great but I could barely taste the dressing unfortunately. I had Moussaka for the first time (meat, not vegetarian) and it was delicious!!! Super tender and tasty, I loved it. Out server was absolutely fantastic and said we could stay for hours as he left the restaurant after his shift ended. Sadly the restaurant did not agree and turned off the music an hour early before closing time. We were the last ones in the restaurant and felt that we should leave which is unfortunate because I would have liked to have stayed longer. As a result I can only give my experience 3/5. I could forgive the lack of flavour in the salad dressing but feeling kicked out an hour early is kind of unforgivable. I'd hate to leave a terrible review on a restaurant I actually love but it had to be done. I haven't experienced any issues with any servers except one female server with dark hair around 5'4 - 5'9. Every time I dine here with my husband, she has consistently acted inappropriately towards one of us. My husband is Albanian and I am Asian. We first ate at Christina's summer 2020. Each and every single time we came, my husband brought to my attention that this female server had something negative to say about me in Albanian to other co-workers, not to mention the endless dirty looks. Some complaints he overheard were "I don't want to serve these kinds of people, someone else should do it" and she said "that girl is so snobby, she doesn't like the food" once because I asked for a take out container... Summer 2021 we came with 3 other friends. The same waitress immediately came to my husband. My husband spoke english to her as it would make more sense for everyone at the table to understand. She asked if he was Albanian and then insisted on speaking only Albanian to only him from there onwards. Immediately once she left, my husband turned to me and told me that she was flirting with him in Albanian. Went to Christina's on a Wednesday evening. It wasn't very busy when we went so it made for a nice environment for a catch-up dinner with the girls. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I got the greek fries and chicken souvlaki. Came up to about 35 dollars. They were able to make substitutions so I got pita instead of rice. Picture this. Saturday night, midnight. Just had a super long day and just wanting to eat geek with le boyfriend. We felt adventurous and wanted to try something than our normal - 3 restaurants. To our surprise this restaurant was still open and more than willing to serve us. We sat down on the patio because it was such a beautiful night. Looked at the menu (let me point out le boyfriend is extremely picky) and we both decided that the Mediterranean Seafood Platter for two is the choice that we wanted to go with. After the waiter had taken our order he had brought over the drinks and the bread. Pre buttered with fresh garlic butter - le boyfriend is celiac so he took the risk of eating it (8 hours later we found out he doesn't react to that bread which is FANTASTIC) he couldn't stop because it was sooo delicious. The food came out. Beautiful presentation and everything tasted excellent. The salmon and white fish was cooked to perfection. The shrimp and the lobster tail was a little on the dry side however none the less still very appetizing. This spot has been added to our go-tos list. Also the service was wonderful. Came here for a good ol' fashioned brunch and left with a Greek experience harkening back to my childhood! My aunt has always lived in the Danforth area, and I have many memories of meeting up with her at different restaurants, touring around the street, seemingly on a years-long saganaki tour. Christina's still holds up and was a delicious Sunday brunch. I love it as a family brunch spot, because some can go for classic breakfast items while others (me, on this particular Sunday) could go for Greek favourites. We ordered a trio of Greek trips and of course, the saganaki plate also came out in flames and fresh-squeezed lemon juice. The moussaka was wonderful. Spiced beef under the creamy béchamel sauce - simply splendid comfort food on a cold day. We hung out for many hours in the sunny front window table and had a sweet time with great service. Finally!!! After years of telling me about his favourite greek place my husband finally convinced me to come give Christina's a try. I am so glad I was down! The atmosphere is so friendly and lively! Definitely adds to the greek feel. When you first walk in to the dining room theres a wall with pictures posted showing all the different notable people who have visited. Makes a good time killer while waiting.The service isn't the best, it's hard to find you server after you order so make sure you have everything you need when you order. They are nice but they ghost you very quick!I This was my first time having Saganaki and I was so excited! Unfortunately, my husband was so enveloped in his phone that the server was trying to be nice and waited to long so we didn't really get a "flaming" experience- more like a little spit of a ring of fire. However, that's more of a husband fault then a restaurant fault. Even though I didn't get the flames like the other table- it was super delicious! Like I want to come back and eat some now. I ordered the Kotopoulo Yemisto, I didn't like it. It was so over filled with Spinach I didn't even taste the cheese and herbs it supposedly came with (Im sure it didn't actually have any of that) However, my husbands chicken souvlaki was so good! Was very disappointed with my experience at Christina's. Our table was seated beside a massive speaker and it was so loud to the point we couldn't hear each other across our table of 6. We asked our server if it could be turned down and he said no. We ordered a bunch of food to share, and some of our items were wrong when it arrived at the table. We told the server and he insisted that was what we ordered. It was ironic that it was a miscommunication cause it was so loud he could not hear what we were trying to order. Regardless he did not apologize or correct our order. We also asked for recommendations and the server didn't seem knowledgeable of portion sizes. The food itself was pretty average. Came here on Sunday with the family for last dinner of my mom's most recent trip to Toronto. We have just moved into the neighborhood and are keen to find good Greek places to eat. This one seems very old school with the celebrity pictures from the 90s! We had a selection of dips like Skordalia and Hummus to start. Holy Garlic batman!, but so good. I had the Mousaka for my main and it was also very flavourful. Giant portions as well that all include greek salad. My partner ended up taking half her calamari home and between that and the salad we had another two meals out of dinner. Only thing that prevents 5 stars in the service. Wasn't super attentive especially once a large party arrived after us. The restaurant was only 40% full so that is no excuse. read more

Was recommended this place from a Greek acquaintance. Loved it! Atmosphere was jolly and cozy. We went on a sat night. The bellydancing and live music is great. We had the grilled calamari (around $15-18, i forgot) and the roasted lamb rack ($34). Calamari was great and freah, lamb rack was excellent, flavorful and savory. The house wine ($9 glass) was very good as well, and the bread they serve u is excellent, with some good garlic-butter on it. I would definitely definitely come back. I've been to Christina's for three times so far, and we always end up having a great time at this little gem on the Danforth. The Food is delicious, always fresh and nicely presented.. With a menu that has a wide selection of vegetarian options, seafood, lamb/beef and poultry.. They also offer sharing platters which are just great for larger groups. Lamb souvlakis, grilled calamari, saganaki are my star plates in here, but the whole menu is pretty well prepared. The staff and management are actual professionals, not your regular servers, which is great plus to have, they will all make sure you're always looked after and leaving the place a happy customer. On weekends (fri&sat), they feature a live band and singers, singing classic and modern greek songs.. The place is usually packed, especially on weekends, so it's a must to make reservations to secure a spot. read more
