Decided to test this out since it was near me. Friendly people, nice place. However, I had my hair cut by Danielle. She's very nice, but didn't listen to what I had asked. I said I wanted long layers and only 1 and 1/4 inch cut. I ended up with more than 14 inches cut off and short layers. I measured it and on the shortest layer she cut off 14 inches! My hair looks like a mullet and is going to take years to grow back. Not only that but the layers that were cut were not the same on both sides, one side is 2 inches longer than the other, all together a disaster of a haircut that looks like diy haircut that a 4 year old did. Does not understand the concept of long layers and blending and actually making your hair even.Will not be returning ever and will be hiding for more than three years till it grows back. I was in desperate need of a haircut after waiting just a tad too long, and purchased the Groupon deal for Christina's Salon. They were great, and were able to take me with just about an hours notice on a Tuesday afternoon. Upon showing up, I waited for a good half hour as they finished other patrons who were already in stylists chairs, so perhaps the appointment should have been scheduled for later in the day. I really wasn't thrilled by this point, but my mind was quickly changed when I met Melissa who, I think, did a great job. Granted, I walked in with a Groupon wanting highlights and left with a darker (and $25 more expensive) do, but I do like it. Just beware that there will be up charges for the style that you might end up getting. I think I'll give this salon at least one more try in a couple of months when it's time for a touch up. read more

Yesterday my sister and I had appointments to get our hair done for a wedding and she had also gotten her makeup done. The weirdest thing was you make an appointment to get your hair or anything done what looked to be someone's house. That was not what I expected and really liked period. Next I found out that instead of Christina doing it like you'd think the owner we got someone else that works for her and the lady's daughter. Thankfully we had a really sweet Egyptian lady doing our hair. We did have a bit trouble getting my hair to how I wanted it but we managed to get my tape in extensions placed in. I did love my hair a lot because it was just the right length and curls were great too! I got so many compliments. She also did a fabulous job with my sisters hair and makeup as well! If I have another occasion in the future or just feel like getting my hair dyed I'd consider going back and recommending family too. So thank you so much Nashwa for making us look fabulous at the wedding. One last unfortunate complaint I'd like to make is that Christina is very crappy and slow at responding to text messages with her clients. It took forever to get a response from her when my sister would ask her questions about my hair do pricing and what not. When I personally texted and called her to get a quote she didn't answer either. So that to me is extremely unprofessional and I wouldn't dare go to her for anything to do with my hair. I'd rather call and deal with nashwa instead. So I would say Christina if you read this fix this issue or you'll lose a lot of clients old and new. I got a haircut today at Christina's salon. Like most people leaving a review, I purchased a deal on groupon. I went in for a shampoo, blowout, and haircut. The girl who shampooed me could have scrubbed my head a little better. I was not shampooed very well behind the ears or around the bottom portion of my neck. However, my stylist, Jessica took over from there. It took about 45 minutes to cut the hair (my legnth is definitely considered long) and to blow it out. I was finished off with an anti frizz spray. Over all I had a positive experience. The staff seem friendly towards each other and towards customers. There is a lot going on in this place on a Saturday and everyone was in positive spirits. Came to the salon twice... once for cut and highlights and again for keratin smoothing treatment. I got a great cut, the highlights look beautiful and the keratin treatment took less than two hours (some places take forever and take other clients while you're processing, which is only 20 minutes). Joanne did my hair both times and she is a doll. She made sure my highlights were perfect and got every last hair with the flat iron for the keratin. The owner, Christina came over and introduced herself, she was a sweetheart too. There is such a thing as professionalism and courtesy with a touch of class and style in modern day hair salons. Well, that is what I stumbled upon this afternoon when getting a touch up and blow out. My hair dresser nailed my color (which is not always easy to do) and went above and beyond to give me a beautiful blow out. Christina, the owner, honored a coupon I saw on Facebook despite the fact that it was for a slightly different service. The staff there was so pleasant, offering me coffee or water several times and the charming boutique like feel of this salon was warm and inviting. I have been going to Christina's Salon for many years now. Everyone is pleasant and knowledgeable. I have thick curly hair and Adriana works her magic. They have fully explained to me about the caring and treatment for my type of hair. Adriana walks me through every step I need to know in order to get the "salon" result. First time that I have been to this salon. I have lived in the area for over 12 years and am looking for a new salon. I had a groupon and decided to give this place a try. There were some things that threw me off, the floor was pretty dirty, it looked as if they hadn't swept the floor all day (and maybe previous days), also I had an appointment an the woman (Ana for short) who was doing my hair was running about 20 mins behind. When I finally got to the chair, I felt that I was being rushed. She had two other updo appointments after me, which she told me about 6 times. While cutting my hair she must have stopped and walked away about 5 times that I counted. This made me especially nervous, I never had a stylist just stop cutting and think of something else that she had to do or show me. To be honest I couldn't remember if she cut my whole head. This was the most nerve racking experience. While styling my hair, I was super nervous on how the over all look would turn out, she was still rushing through. While putting hair spray in my hair before she used the curling iron, she sprayed me directly in the eye with the hairspray. She apologized and got me a wet paper towel for my eye. What is saving this review is that the final look turned out to be very nice for what I needed that night. I am still not sure if I would go to this salon again, I would definitely use another stylist. I came to this salon on a groupon deal. I'm new to the area and was in search of a regular stylist in my neighborhood. Having long hair, I'm always weary of stylists who are chop-happy or alternatively, too scared to give me more than just a trim. I was randomly assigned to Mandy and I'm glad I was. She did an absolutely superb job. She knew exactly what I wanted and made quick and seemingly effortless work out of it. She took the time to style every section of my long laborious hair, to the point where I felt compelled to go out that night and show it off. I haven't experienced that level of self-confidence and care from a stylist in a long long time! She was fun to chat with and gave me great tips on how to properly care for my hair. The salon itself is clean and chic, yet has a relaxed and personal feel to it. The staff was even running to the Dunkin Donuts nearby and bringing in coffee for their regular clients before they got started on their hair. I thought that was really sweet! Great find! I recently am back to the area and was in desperate need of a haircut....so i figured i'd try one that had a deal going on groupon. They have a great deal at the moment and it was very easy to book an appointment. I was randomly paired with Melissa, who was an absolute pleasure. She was very nice and made great convo with me but was not too overbearing. She is very knowledgable of all the newest trends but still an expert in the traditional styles that are always in fashion. The owner Christina introduced herself and was extremely friendly and pleasant as well. Overall the vibe of the salon is chic and busy....but not pretentious, which is something I def appreciate. I went to Christina's after I bought a deal on Living Social for Keratin treatment. They said they will do Keratin treatment using Coppola product and that the hair should not get wet for 72 h after the treatment. When I washed my hair after 96 h using the shampoo and conditioner that they sold m , there was absolutely no difference in my hair. I have seen many of my friends hair who got the same Keratin treatment at other salons and how smooth and frizz free it was. My hair was no where close to being smooth or frizz free. My hair is wavy and the waves are not relaxed at all and I was very upset looking at the results. I called their salon multiple times and they were very unresponsive. This was the worst service I have ever received in my life. I was booked for an appointment at 2:30, and how long did I wait? Nearly an hour and a half after i arrived, precisely at 2:25. And when someone did get finally get around to me, after taking multiple others first who arrived much after me, was greeted with nothing more than a surprising and unnecessary attitude from one of the stylists. I did not get her name, but it was a dark haired stylist who was between 45 and 50 running around. The stylist I did end up getting was rude and vocally short with me, and smelled of BO. In addition, every attempt I made to bring up a new topic of conversation was met with slight annoyance and an eye roll. I have been coming to Christina's Salon for over 20 years. From the beginning I have received the utmost care and expertise. My stylist Adriana is the absolute BEST! I don't have to worry if my wishes will be carried out. Adriana always takes the time to listen to any concerns or offer her advise as to the treatments that would be the most beneficial to my hair type. She not only is a miracle worker, but such a beautiful person inside and out! I can't stress enough, how fortunate I am to have found her! Having said that, I also want to give a shout-out to all the staff. There have been times that Adriana has been on vacation and I booked with another stylist. I always left happy. All stylists are professional,Everis super friendly and accommodating. Even the staff who assists in washing your hair and preparing you for your stylist. I have recommended friends and family and all echo my sentiments. If your looking for a new stylist, a relaxing salon where everyone is helpful and a salon that will be a keeper, give Christina's Salon a try. My husband accidentally bought two specials through livingsocial not realizing that it was only one special applicable for a new customer...when he called the verify my second appt. the woman gave him a hard time but said she would still make the appt. I chose this salon because of yelp. Big mistake. When I had called for an appt I asked for a stylist that cut edgy hip styles. . I was told Jamie is the one. After growing my hair out for a year I brought a picture of the exact hairstyle I wanted. I spoke to Jamie in length and asked if she could cut this style. She assured me she could. SHE COULDN'T. The manager came over and tried to fix it. It came out uneven and choppy. Really the worst style I had ever had. Two women and one lousy cut. I called the owner Christine. She had called me back but I was busy bathing the baby. She told my husband that I should not call the salon and that she would call me back. SHE NEVER DID. So it cost me another $40 and another trip to a new salon to fix this mess. Now my hair is ultra short and no where near the picture of the style I wanted. This salon was unorganized and short on supplies. I signed up for an Amazon deal and I suppose I got what I paid for. The staff was nice but my mani pedi took 2 hours and not because the girl took her time scrubbing and massaging but because they had to share basic equipment like clippers and cuticle cutters and did not even have the thin white brush to put the white line on the french pedicure so the girl who is way better at hair had to continuously redo it with a normal brush (not to mention that her hand kept smudging some of the nails she already did) needless to say, my pedicure wasn't what I am used to. My hair came out OK but nothing special. The staff overbooked and several appointments had to be rescheduled. They didn't have big comfortable pedicure chairs so sitting on a hard bench for two hours isn't my idea of a relaxing day at the salon. Needless to say, I'll never go back. read more
