I saw Dr. Pearson 20 years ago and, because I feel that when someone has a huge impact on your life you should yell it from a mountain top, I am going to do so. I was severely injured by a different ObGyn during the birth of my son and had great difficulty walking. I went to Dr. Pearson and he spent so much time listening to me and examining me. I was young and scared and he made me feel like everything was going to be ok. He performed 2 vaginal reconstructions on me and made (in his words) "The rock of Gibraltor". Fantastic doctor. After our other Doctor stopped taking insurance, we went to Dr. Pearson, on recommendation. Dr. Pearson was professional and made my wife feel at ease throughout the pregnancy. His staff was friendly, caring and attentive. During the delivery, I'd have liked to have seen him show up a little earlier, as he came in towards the end to literally catch the baby. However, even with that small criticism, his demeanor made both my wife and I feel comfortable and that everything was taken care of. Would definitely recommend. read more

I love Dr. Pearson. As other reviewers mentioned he really took the time to get to know me in his office and didn't bat an eye at a 40+ woman with fibroid issues wanting to have another baby. He set up my labs, looked me over, and we discussed options. He must be good luck because I got pregnant super quick after trying for quite a while. His bedside manner is fantastic and he's so reassuring. His staff are also terrific. Annita has stayed late to wait for my labs to come in to call me with the results and I was so so so grateful. The wait times can be a bit much and I did have to reschedule a few times after waiting fir 45 mins or more (why bother making an appointment?) I started seeing Dr. Pearson about a year ago and I chose him because of all the great reviews he has, so its only right that I write him one of my own :) I began seeing him when I was about 4 months pregnant because I needed a doctor closer to my house and that had privileges at St Josephs where I wanted to deliver my baby. He is the nicest Dr. ever and has a great sense of humor. This was my first pregnancy and he made me feel very comfortable and was happy to address all my questions and concerns. The day I went to the hospital to deliver he was there to check on me literally minutes after I arrived. Im so thankful he was the Dr that delivered my son. We chose Dr. Pearson for our obstetrician and would highly recommend him. My husband and I are both in the medical field, so we were very selective when choosing a doctor. We had good prenatal care throughout the pregnancy, and he safely delivered my baby. He was very patient with the delivery and was available the entire time, and never rushed things along unnecessarily (it was even a Sunday). His office staff and nurse were always very friendly and professional. The office can sometimes be quite busy, however we only waited past our appointment time a few times. read more

You genuinely see the care in Dr Pearson's eyes when he speaks to you like a wise grandfather who as seen everything under the sun. He has delivered over 29,000 babies. No matter what situation you may be going through, he puts your mind at ease while giving you the comfort of knowing that it's ok to feel anxious and that it will soon pass. Here is a man who is passionate about what he does and you can see and feel the same passion in his staff. From William, the exceptionally kind and courteous receptionist to Anita, the most amazing nurse in the world. During our check-ups, Anita would place the ultrasound device on my wife's belly and allow her to hold it there for a moment to listen to our baby's heartbeat. She would close her eyes and smile and say "Beautiful, just beautiful." In these fast "factory line" sort of times, she reminded us to slow down and really take in the truly awesome experience of pregnancy. NOT. Sub-standard work. Only will go so far as to use what insurance will cover and nothing else. Will not inquire into anything different if you don't fit in easily to what is standardly covered. Went to a different OB/GYN to get another opinion and was shocked. I would have been in big trouble if I had not done so. He is close to retiring and seems to be going through the motions to chat, act nice, pass time to get to his goal. The office is always over rushed. I will NOT be one of the mistakes they make or are to busy to go into basic detail over! The glowing 5 star reviews must be novices with basic easy fixes. Good for them, not me. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Pearson since 1983, I drove from an hour away from where we live to have our second daughter. I wouldn't even think of going to another OB/GYN! He is the best OB/GYN! I have been so fortunate to have him as my Doctor. He delivered both our Daughters and now they are patients. Dr. Pearson is a kind, caring, professional with a wonderful bedside manner. He treats you just the way a Dr. should, knowledgeable, honest and kindly! His front office staff is wonderful, William is the best. Anita his nurse is the most amazing nurse! First, and above all, let me say this: Dr. Pearson saved my daughter's life, and did so cool and calm, without freaking me the hell out. I am forever grateful to him for that. The story: After going through two disappointing OB's here in Burbank, I gave Dr. Pearson a try when I found out I was pregnant with my second child. He spent so much time with me on the first visit, and is very personable. You'd occasionally wait, but the service was good enough that in all honesty, it didn't bother me like it would with another office that sucks. I only felt rushed maybe twice during the entire pregnancy, and hey, it's a busy practice so again, I could deal. I went into labor on my due date in late May, anticipating a normal vaginal delivery like with my first daughter, and everything was going okay until my water was broken (my contractions had stopped). Long and terrifying story short, I was rushed for an emergency c-section. The reason was that my daughter had a true knot in her cord, and it was wrapped around her. Her heart rate was irregular and she was at risk of dying. The whole surgery took 7 minutes, and it was terrifying. I do remember briefly Dr. Pearson looking over at me and said "Don't worry, we will get your baby out safely", and it was his reassurance that I clung to and appreciated at that moment. Basically, my daughter survived a scenario that 25% of babies survive. Had it not been for his professionalism at that moment, along with the staff of St. Joseph (and my own luck), I would be in a very different state right now. On the day he discharged me, I held his hand and gave him another tearful thank you. He looked appreciative, and I believe he did care. I was and am so grateful. So why only 4 stars, you ask? After the csection, there was no follow up postpartum appointment, to evaluate my scar or just in general. I am a little frustrated with the relaxed attitude many doctors have out here about postpartum follow up. I just feel that since it was an operation, I should have at least been seen to look at the incision. Turns out it wasn't healing well anyway, so I had to make an appt. I also have never been evaluated for PPD even though I feel it is important. Overall, I just don't think that a woman stops being a patient after being discharged from the hospital; I think they deserve that extra care. With that being said, this detail, of course, does not compare to my daughter being here with me. But it does count. His office staff, if rated separately, would receive 5 stars. His nurse Anita is lovely, and William at the front desk is always kind. They are unlike many office staffs of OB's around here. They work so hard, but always manage a smile and an apology if things are running behind. Needless to say, I plan to stick with this office. So far, the best I've experienced in Burbank. I don't know what Doctor these other people saw, but the Doctor Pearson that I saw was rude, insensitive and uncompassionate --and left me in tears after my last visit. He is obviously over-booked and over-worked, but that is no excuse to treat a patient badly, particularly when dealing with sensitive & emotional issues. Maybe it's time to retire. I had tests done whose results were incorrect & invalid due to the fact that he is a terrible communicator, as is his staff. In fact, worse than him is his staff --one of whom actually called me at home & told me that I was never going to be able to have a baby (based on invalid tests results --which, again, were no fault of my own)!!! Who does that???!!! First of all it was incorrect info, secondly that is something that needs to be told to a patient IN PERSON, in a caring, sensitive manner. That is actually a dangerous thing to do --depending on a persons emotional well-being. I will NEVER go to this Doctor again --and needless to say will continue my search for a caring, sensitive OBGYN in L.A.. I'm sure there's one out there and it's not him :-( read more

I only wish I had found Dr. Pearson sooner. I came to him after I lost my baby which I found out from him could have been prevented. He is not just an incredible skillful, intelligent, kind and thoughtful doctor but an amazing human being. And his staff is top notch. William is kind and empathetic on the phone and in person and Dr. Pearsons nurse is an angel. When I had breast cancer she called often to see how I was doing. He is the doctor the other doctors out of St. Jose Hospital in Burbank send their wives. I wish all my doctors were like him. He is wonderful. One last thing, I think this doctor may have helped save my life. When my insurance would not cover yearly mammograms back in the day because I was considered too young, he insisted I have one a year and they be covered because of my family history. One year later, the cancer showed up. He also turned me onto chiropractic therapy which has made a big difference in treating my fibromyaliga. Thank you, Dr. Pearson. You are the best. read more

Dr Pearson is the best! A few years ago the company I work for changed insurance carriers and unfortunately Dr. Pearson was not covered under the new insurance. The GREAT news is that they changed insurance carriers again, and now Dr. Pearson is covered. I've been to several other OB/GYN's since then and no one even comes close to the skills and competency of Dr. Pearson. I'm actually looking forward to being able to go back to seeing him again. Amazing. The most comfortable and cared about you will feel at a Dr's office (especially an obgyn which is a bit of a scary experience for many). He takes the time to get to know you and you will feel totally at ease. Not to mention a fantastic and experienced Doctor! His nurses and front staff are so genuine and will do all they can to help you out, make you feel comfortable, and get you an appointment as quickly as possible (twice I have called and they managed to squeeze me in the next day). Never had to wait very long either. There are not enough positive stars to rate Dr. Pearson with. My wife and I just had our second child after having a not-so-great experience with our last OB. By the time it was time to have our baby we felt like we were part of the family at his office, and now we plan on stopping by regularly despite my not having woman parts. My wife and I from the beginning wanted to have our child naturally using the Bradley Method (which we did successfully the first time) and not only was Dr. Pearson 'ok' with it but he encouraged it and worked with us to stave off inducement despite us being a few days overdue. He genuinely listens, he takes time to get to know you, and he has a wicked sense of humor which my wife and I appreciated greatly. We're sad that it's all over to be frank. I scheduled a well woman visit with Dr. Pearson today and had an awesome experience. It reminds me of what going to the doctor felt like so many years ago. From the moment I walked in, William at the front desk made me feel welcome. I was escorted to Dr. Pearson's office and had a lovely and personable intake conducted. We actually had a conversation that went beyond him typing into a computer and asking me 75 questions. He was seems to be genuinely interested in the patients that he sees and definitely conveys the message that he loves being involved in the miracle of life. He seems to be a committed, experienced and well informed doctor. Every single person that I interacted with in Dr. Pearson's office was authentic and present. This stands out in stark contrast to the typical formulaic standard of care that has emerged in healthcare recently, where things have become so standardized that you feel like you are being cared for by automatons. Dr Pearson cared for me during my pregnancy and delivered our baby 4 months ago, and we would chose him for the next baby too if it happens again. I agree with the previous comments that if you need a lot of hand-holding throughout your pregnancy you might be disappointed. On the other hand, you'd love his care if you like doing your homework in terms of knowing what to expect and when during pregnancy and at birth, which would make the visits efficient. This is because he is very busy with his clients, but he finds the extra time when you or your baby needs the extra medical attention or if it happens that there is a little down time, eg, no mommy is giving birth or waiting for him. He is extensively experienced, wise, makes good judgment, and carefully monitors your and your baby's well being. We also liked the numerous baby stories he told us from his or his father's (who also was a doctor) experience. Additionally, the staff is outstanding - warm and friendly. Together they made us feel we were with family during this journey. read more

I had the pleasure of being under both the care of Dr. Pearson and Dr.Sofia. Pearson for the first 8 months of my pregnancy and then when he had to have unexpected surgery, Dr. Sofia took over and delivered my baby (via c-section). They are both very different in personality, but both are extremely professional and I felt I was in good hands. I loved the entire staff - particularly Dr. Pearson's nurse Anita and William at the front desk - always felt very comfortable in the office and was able to get either Anita or Dr. P on the phone to ask questions throughout my pregnancy. Dr. Sofia delivered a healthy boy, stitched me up perfectly and followed up with my recuperation. I recommend this practice highly. read more

Dr. Pearson is one of the greatest OBYGYN's ever. After 4 miscarriages in 3 years I got pregnant a 5th time, and when I made it to my second trimester my gynecologist referred me to Dr. Pearson (she does not do obstetrics,,,) He took GREAT care of me and my high risk pregnancy. I was 42 when I delivered, and had complications that required a C-Section and all I can say is that Dr. Pearson saved my and my son's life that day. His office staff is wonderful. There were several close calls during my pregnancy, including me being in a car accident and each and every time I was admitted to the hospital from the ER Dr. Pearson was AT MY BEDSIDE in less than an hour. He correctly identified that I was at high risk for PPD and kept very close tabs on me after delivery. I have moved away from LA, but everything all the other reviews say are exactly right. I last saw Dr. Pearson when my appendix burst in 2005 and he and the Gastro Dr were at odds as to my ailment (nothing gynecological). It was very unpleasant to the point Dr. Pearson wanted to go ahead with surgery and had a disagreement with the Gastroenterologist (I'm glad the Gastro Dr won that day!) Prior to that, Dr. Pearson handled both of my pregnancies...my youngest born in 2003 was a difficult pregnancy and afterward I had heart problems that ultimately landed me in bed for 2 months (was inpatient at St. Joes 5 days then on truckloads of downers for 2 months so I wouldn't stroke out and die - so I did miss the first 2 months of my son's life). Sounds serious, right? Well, Dr. Pearson is always ready with a joke - sadly, when my first heart incident & call to 911 happened I called Dr. Pearson to let him know I was having complications. His response to my call was, and I QUOTE, "Call me right before they put a tag on your toe." That's the last time I spoke with this doctor and the only reason he was attending my appendectomy was because I hadn't a new OB/gy at the time. He's cock-sure of himself to the point of wanting him to take his little comedy show on the road and never crack a joke like that to a new mother who had 4 ambulance rides to ERs before finally insisting on a diagnosis at St. Joes (he never came a-calling there during my five day stay). If you want a self-absorbed comic as your doctor, by all means, this is your guy. read more

I need to echo the other 5 star reviews on here... I've been seeing Dr. Pearson for only just over 2 years, starting right before I conceived my first, but I can't say enough good about him, his nurse and the front office. They're all wonderful. In particular Dr. Pearson, who probably saved my baby's life after a prolapse cord that the hospital nurse didn't catch. I needed an emergency C-section and even through the scariness of all of that, he managed to instill a sense that everything was going to be fine. I already knew I was in good hands with him and after that experience, it is without a doubt. I am happy to have him again for my second pregnancy. He might often be busy and there may be waiting time before appointments, but having been the one on the receiving end of needing him in an emergency, I will wait however long I have to in order to see him.
