With a recent emphasis on how to improve maternal outcomes (especially in the African American community), I feel like I do not have the depth nor breadth of vocabulary to praise my experience with Dr. Ahdoot and his staff for their above and beyond involvement in my fertility journey, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. I truly feel I am a stickler on choosing providers who have wealth of knowledge and experience, but who also take the time to share that knowledge and experience to assist me in advocating for my care. Through this entire journey, Dr. Ahdoot took time to not only answer my questions and address my concerns, but he also verbally walked me through a decision tree regarding proposed treatments and potential outcomes. There was never a question or concern that was too small or out there. He took that time to teach me and equip me so that "we" were making decisions about my care. It was through these conversations and his passion for educated patient involvement, that develops and maintains an open, honest, and trusting communication/ relationship between patient and provider. And this remarkable dedication to teach and establish partnership, expanded beyond just me. Dr. Ahdoot also gave the same care, consideration, and space for my husband to ask questions and express concerns. My husband was treated as a valued partner in my care rather than a bumbling spouse asked to sit on the sidelines. By including my husband in these discussions, Dr. Ahdoot equipped my husband to be not only an additional support, but someone who was able to advocate for me when I was unable to do so. It was this line of communication and trust that prepped me and my husband for the unexpected and prevent me from being another statistic of an African American woman with a poor maternal outcome. Without sharing all of my medical information, Dr. Ahdoot and I had several conversations regarding the monitoring of my high risk pregnancy. We discussed the various outcomes and potential difficult decisions that may need to be made. We discussed the decision tree regarding my situation at almost every appointment. So, when my situation changed, I wasn't caught off guard. I knew what questions to ask. I knew what to expect. I was prepared to make difficult decisions, and I could truly give informed consent. Then there was Dr. Ahdoot. Holy cow. The stereotype of the doctor just walking into the room to catch a baby, was so far from my reality. As soon as a lab was received, he was on it to share and discuss the results. If meds were going to be added or dosages changed, there was a conversation. I was never out of the loop. My husband was never out of the loop. His expertise and care made sure this patient not only avoided from becoming a statistic, but I would say, I had a phenomenal birth and received concierge level of care for both my gynecological and obstetrical concerns. Now to the staff. From the time I stepped into the office until I left, whether it was for an annual exam, follow ups for my miscarriage, or prenatal care, each member of the team acted as a positive and professional extension of Dr. Ahdoot. The nurses are knowledgeable and although they work to make all aspects of the appointment efficient, they never lacked empathy. Whether it is Catherine, Cathy, the young lady at the front desk, or all the wonderful smiling nurses, the bedside manner extends across all staff members. I am so grateful that I had Dr. Ahdoot as by OBGYN who cared for me throughout my pregnancy. He is compassionate, efficient, and pays attention to all the extra details. We could have not asked for a better experience, especially for our first born. He made sure I knew that my child and I were a priority for him throughout my pregnancy. He made sure that I wasn't stressed throughout the entire process. Despite of some minor complications, Dr. Ahdoot was very consistent with monitoring me closely with the perinatologist he had referred me to (which was also amazing). I was sent to NST testing twice a week and was seen by the perinatologist and Dr. Ahdoot once a week. He made sure I stayed consistent with my testing and sure enough during my last NST test, his L&D team was able to detect some decelerations that were concerning. In addition to all this, my blood pressure was noted to be unusually higher than normal. I was immediately sent to labor and delivery and within minutes Dr. Ahdoot was by my side (holding my hand tightly) and was getting ready to schedule me for a C-section due to the frequent decelerations seen during NST monitoring. I don't know where to start to describe just how amazing Dr.Ahdoot is. I had a very very hard pregnancy and he went above and beyond any doctor I have ever gone too. From coming to the hospital everyday to check on me, to all the doctor appointments to make sure my little girl stayed healthy. I have been a patient of Dr. Ahdoot for 9 years. This year I found out I was expecting my first child. Unfortunately, I had several complications throughout my pregnancy. I could not be more grateful that I chose to continue seeing Dr. Ahdoot -- even though my insurance changed and he became out of pocket. After I first peed on the stick, I made appointments to see doctors at UCLA and Cedars, just to give myself some options. When I told the doctor at UCLA that I thought I was about five weeks along, I was told they didn't want me to come in until I was 10 weeks. That means waiting OVER A MONTH to simply confirm I was even pregnant! When I called Dr. Ahdoot's office, they asked if I wanted to come in THAT WEEK! Throughout my pregnancy, Dr Ahdoot made himself available when I felt like I needed reassurance, or had any questions. In fact, if he had an opening, he'd often offer to see me that day. Anyone who's been pregnant for the first time knows that, when you have an issue or concern, being able to put your mind at ease in INVALUABLE!! When my baby was born, my son was sent to the NICU, and was there for 10 days. When my son was suddenly released from the NICU, Dr. Ahdoot proved his dedication to caring for my family by changing his flight last minute (ON A SUNDAY!) to come and perform my son's circumcision before our son was discharged from the hospital. Generally, Ahdoot is not the "sit and chat" type of doctor, but his bedside manner is incredibly gentle. He always explains what is happening and what your options are in laymen's terms. My wife and I were lucky enough to have him deliver our son a few weeks ago. There are so many superlatives that I want to use to describe him as both a doctor and human being but the ones that come to mind first are caring, compassionate, empathetic, kind and calming. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! I have excellent insurance and was required to pay $285 since he is apparently out of network. Because it was an urgent matter... I paid without hesitation. Front desk staff and nurse assisting were ok. But the doctor was the worst doctor I have ever encountered. I had an abscess develop rapidly... my primary doctor sent me to the ER since I couldn't get in to see dr Ahdoot until the end of the week. The procedure is known to be treated by obgyn. The emergency room cut it and treated it enough to relieve me of any pain and said my obgyn would further treat it since my appt was days away. They also sent me home with antibiotics.. fast forward to today the Dr barely looked at it.. and said it's healing but may come back and that I should wait it out and call if I have any issues .. he also said antibiotics are a waste but to keep taking them if they make me feel better. He didn't touch it, clean it, nothing! read more

Dr. Ahdoot removed a uterine fibroid that was causing a lot of pain and discomfort for my wife several years ago. I was very impressed back then by the minimally invasive scar that was left behind; my wife went to a dermatologist who hit the scar with a laser and it was virtually invisible! Last year my wife and I decided to have a child and we knew right away that we wanted Dr. Ahdoot and his team to be there for us. While Dr. Ahdoot did not accept my wife's insurance, they worked out a very reasonable pregnancy plan that included all doctors visits and ultrasounds. My wife's pregnancy was high risk; Dr. Ahdoot stayed in close contact with her doctors to make the entire experience seamless. Dr. Ahdoot's staff genuinely care about their patients safety and well being. Today we are blessed with a beautiful baby girl and life has never been so wonderful. My wife is on the mend and our little ones health is perfect! Should we decide to have another child we will definitely be in contact with Dr. Ahdoots practice. My journey with Dr. Ahdoot started with a miscarriage. He and his staff were incredibly gentle and kind (Kathy was a standout). He ensured things were handled with urgency so that I could begin the healing process. When I came back two months later pregnant again, I felt they were genuinely happy for me. Like we were on the journey together. Over the next several months, I was very impressed with the treatment I received. I felt well taken care of: like I was a person and not just a chart. Dr. Ahdoot and his nurses and office staff were amazing. When I needed a Rx, I had it within minutes. When I called with a question, I heard back - from the doctor - same day. They processed maternity leave paperwork quickly. The last month of my pregnancy really illustrated how Dr. Ahdoot is different. He was on top of a few concerns and got me in to see a perinatologist, with whom he worked well and efficiently to get my baby delivered with minimal risk. Post-partum, he was in constant contact. There were times I got ahold of him faster than the nurses on the floor. He is definitely an advocate for his patients. When I was having a less than positive hospital experience, I asked if I could be discharged a day early. Five minutes after I called him, a nurse came in with paperwork. This is my 2nd and hopefully not last review for Dr. Ahdoot and his amazing staff! Gave birth to my beautiful baby girl just over 2 weeks ago, and just as my pregnancy prior, Dr. Ahdoot and his entire staff were by my side from the moment I got that positive pregnancy test to birth and after! This pregnancy was stressful, both healthwise and personal, but every office visit and phone call helped make everything better. Dr Ahdoot is Professional, Knowledgeable, Personable, and above all else, Dr Ahdoot Listens to your concern's seriously...I don't know of a doctor that personally calls you with your lab results ever, but, Dr Ahdoot does....I only wish Dr Ahdoot had a full-time office in the Valley, we sure could use Dr Ahdoot and his staff full-time. read more

Worst doctor I have ever been to. - The staff told me my insurance was accepted, but didn't tell me it wasn't in net-work. - Nurse and doctor gave me a diagnosed without waiting for test results. After days my blood work showed I did not have what they thought I did. But for days, while waiting for the test results, I was a wreck because they both knew this is what I had. My family doctor told me later, this is very unprofessional. - Dr. Ahdoot made 3 extremely inappropriate comments. So extreme official complaints have been filed. I barely write reviews, but writing this because woman need to know this doctor is unprofessional and my honest opinion should not be working with women, as a doctor and especially not as an OB-GYN. read more

Just a really bad experience with the doctor as well as his front desk and medical staff. He brushed me off, didn't care enough to explain things so that I actually understood what was going on, and just pushed birth control pills on me with "free samples" instead of solving my actual issue. Furthermore, when I called to get my ultrasound images to send to a different doctor (one that would actually help me with my issue), I was brushed off by his staff for weeks. I literally called, emailed, left voice messages, went to the "Contact Us" section on his website... I tried everything! 0/10 would recommend. read more
