Jan is THE MAN. Now enough about the man behind the camera, let's talk about that ring lighting. My word. I've never looked so good in my entire life as I did in front of that light and on that camera. I hired Chroma Photobooth for a recent event and look forward to working with them regularly in the future. They're very different from any other type of photobooth I've worked with and they're able to really customize the experience for you. Their full scale offerings are a bit out of my monthly budget but we were able to work together and within my budget for online only shareable photos and GIFs that get sent right to the subject's phone. It was a delight! There are a lot of "extras" with Chroma that add up, including adding a backdrop or props, or actually printing. We were able to keep costs down by using a cool graphic wall at the venue, bringing our own props, and opting for digital images over the actual print outs and Jan was so accommodating and understanding through the whole process. The whole set up is very high tech/low touch. Jan arrives before your event, sets everything up, hangs out for a bit to make sure it works, then once your event is over he comes back and packs it all up. You pay through an online invoice and fill out a brief but actually kind of fun run of show for your event with them. Jan even created a custom photo banner for our event based off very little information I gave him and it turned out exactly like what I wanted in my head. I hired Chroma for my birthday party and all I can say is that Jan is awesome! He reached out to the event coordinator at my venue and organized a visit on his own to see the space. And between the two of them, they suggested using the venue's decorated wall as the backdrop (instead of one of his own) which was such a thoughtful and fun suggestion and actually worked out really well for my pictures. On the night of my party, Jan was already there and all set up by the time we arrived. He had emailed me earlier that week asking if I had any specific color theme or ideas for my photostrip printouts but I was so busy at work that I never got back to him. So after the first photo of the night, he printed 2 photostrips (each with different layout schemes) and asked which I preferred. That was such an amazing detail and I was over the moon with the black & gold option and selected that. Also, when you're posing for the pictures, the camera has a monitor on it (so you can see what you look like), but if you're staring at the monitor then your eyes won't be looking at the camera and the picture will look bad. And Jan was so great about gently reminding everyone to focus on the camera for each shot.
