Arrived at 7:20 in the morning for my 8am harmony massage on my birthday. After checking in, one of the friendly staff showed me around and made clear introductions of the facilities since it was my first visit. I really liked how quiet the entire floor was and I got to swim in the beautiful pool and used the nice saunas by myself before the message! I went to the waiting area 5 mins before my appointment. The therapist team came out from the back at the same time to get the guests at 8:02am. My therapist was great - talked softly but clearly about the service, focused on the massage and never tried to chat more. The massage was on point and really relaxed me completely. The massage part ended at 9:02am and I went for some free snacks and drinks before spending some more time in the saunas. Overall, the facilities are great and I highly recommend to come early to enjoy the facilities and incorporate them into the massage or facial service to make it a full experience.

Excellent spa services and amenities located on the 4th floor of the Langham hotel. Steam, dry and herbal rooms as well as a great place to chill and relax. Full spa services as well and a beautiful pool and gym.

Usually my visits to the spa are unbelievably great. But now the Covid is over they have a lot of new staff members and the normal masseuse that were there before are not so the quality of my massage was terrible. The lady I had didn't seem like she knew what she was doing at all. It was absolutely one of the worst massages I ever had. She didn't ask me were there any specific areas that I needed worked on more than others she literally gave me a head massage for five seconds and never even massage my feet. I did get a custom deep tissue but it was nothing custom about it. I did let the hostess know and she did take off the service charge. But I felt she should have compensated me for another massage at a later date of my choice but she did not. I was extremely disappointed with the entire experience.

After a stressful December, coming here a few days ago was just what I needed to relax. I made an appointment about 4 days before the date I wanted for an 11am appointment. My appointment was for a Friday, so it might be wise to book further ahead for a Saturday/Sunday. Many of the services sounded appealing, but I knew I desperately needed a facial. The phone booking process was smooth and pleasant, but I hope they create an online booking option in the future. I arrived about an hour and a half before my appointment time. I was initially nervous that I wouldn't have enough time to enjoy the spa facilities before my service, but it was actually the perfect amount of time. I spent most of my time in the hot tub and pool area. This area is very beautiful. I was actually the only person in this area for the whole 50-60 minutes I was there. One of the attendants brought me snacks and water while I was there. I also spent time in the sauna areas before my facial. I loved the herbal sauna the most. Shortly before my facial appointment, I noticed that more people were starting to come into the locker room. I was really thankful I came as early as I did and I would do this again in the future. If you are able to swing it, I would recommend doing the same if you don't want to be around a lot of people. My facial was amazing! I originally booked their more basic facial, but ended up upgrading to a different one when I was in the room with the esthetician. She wasn't pushy at all, but had given me details about another one they offered that may be better to address my skin concerns. The facial ended with a glass of champagne and I spent time in one of the heated loungers. My final thoughts: - Every Langham staff member I encountered in both the spa and other areas were super attentive. I felt very special. - I initially cringed at the thought of spending so much for a facial, but I would still come back here again (probably more so for a special occasion though).

TL;DR *The facilities are awesome, the staff is very helpful, the massage was good too. Will be back and plan to bring my husband along as well! Facilites *Pros: public areas are well appointed and expansive for a city hotel. Massive gym with peloton bikes. Large jacuzzi. Large lap pool. Dramatic water features in the communal spa waiting area provided soothing white noise. Light snacks and flavored water were a nice touch (there were yogurt pretzels and bananas chips with watermelon water when I was there). Women's locker room had great bones: separate dry sauna, wet steam rooms, rainfall showers, heated lounge chairs. I didn't get to use as I'm pregnant but I really enjoy the different types of heat humidity combinations. *Cons: First is that the only hot drink available was caffeinated tea. Its freezing out. I wish they would have had a decaf option as I'm pregnant and avoiding caffeine.. being Asian inspired I was surprised they only had one tea option. This is a really easy fix. Second issue in my mind is also an easy fix. They don't have many toiletries in the women's locker room. No deodorant, hair spray, combs, hair ties, or really any extras. I did ask for a razor and one the nice attendants got me one. Also their skincare products are really lacking. The showers have body soap and shampoo/ conditioner and there is body lotion and mouthwash on the sink counter but no facial soap or face lotion.. something even gyms like Equinox supply. It's a must in the dry air of Chicago winters. Massage *Pros: I had the prenatal 80 min massage. Good pressure and varied bed positions to accommodate a big baby belly. *Cons: Timing was a bit truncated, but the front desk was very professional and provided a small discount so no real complaints. (Backstory is that they walked me back right at 5:45p, but spent several minutes discussing the benefits of a $45 Chinese medicine add-on.. that I didn't want.. at the end of the massage I didn't see a clock right away but 1) I got dressed, 2)waited for the massage therapist to bring a water, and then 3) walked back to the women's lockers and it was just 7:05pm when I was getting back to the lockers.

Also liked the tea area and trail mix which was jut enough. I do look forward to returning and trying a service in the future. Only suggestion--I truly came for the steam room and relaxation. The steam was perfect except it the equipment can be checked out as when the mist would automatically come on during the process, the machine would make a loud, boom sound. There are a variety of services to choose from, but the various baths of different temperatures and salt engage the senses like no other. It's co-ed, and you can move between baths at your leisure. There's even a semi-outdoor waterfall bath. The variety is wonderful. There's a salt shower area that you could rub salt on yourself which feels wonderful. I really enjoyed the sauna which had an aromatherapy component to it and a cold plunge inside. I didn't think I could do it, but the hot temps made it easier to get into the cold water. Service here is splendid, and reservations need to be made so that over-crowding doesn't happen. This makes the experience of coming here much more enjoyable. There is staff around so if you have any questions, that can be answered. The locker rooms are clean. There are a couple private changing rooms and, of course, cuz it is separate from the men, you can choose to change in the open. You change into your bathing suit and they provide a robe. Within this locker room, there are showers available and there is also an area provided to get ready AFTER the services are complete. It has hair dryers and spray deodorant and I think lotions. They do provide "wet slippers". They fit like no show socks so there's no need for any kind of flip flop type shoe to protect your feet. I have no review for the men's locker room cuz... Well. I'm not a man. BUT my husband had no complaints. When ready, you meet your partner and go to the "bath" area. They have all kinds of hot tubs and steams rooms and cold plunges and just yeah. It's pretty cool. You hang your robe and in you go. There is also a juice bar and the juices are delicious. Again, there is plenty of staff to assist with any questions you may have. If you booked a massage, and, of course, why not? They will let you know when it's time. You go upstairs and get the best massage of your life. I had a female masseuse and my husband had a male one. Once done, back into the locker room to get ready for the rest of your day/evening. It was a pleasant experience. It was also quite pricey. This was gifted to me and my man. Not sure if we would have extra funds to splurge within our own budget. This is downtown Chicago. Parking is NOT provided. Although they do offer valet.

We received an email before our visit asking if we would be able to switch our 10:30 appointments to 8:00 am or 11:45 am to accommodate another guest interested in services. Since we were visiting from out of town and had other plans, we were not able to switch to these times but eventually agreed to move to 9:15 even though it was not our preferred time. The attendants upon arrival were very friendly and welcoming. The eucalyptus steam sauna was closed for repair, which was not indicated when we booked. The dry sauna and hot tub were very small. As the morning went on it got incredibly busy. There were so many people waiting for appointments that there weren't enough chairs in the relaxation room, and it was very crowded by the vanity/mirrors and showers. Our treatments we good, not spectacular for the cost, but we expected expensive treatments on a busy weekend in Chicago. We were offered complimentary enhancements for switching appointment times-a face mask or eye mask. A nice touch but not nearly worth switching our plans around for. We had separate reservations to begin with but somehow when we were asked to move our reservation times, we were put on the same reservation. As a result, I was charged for my friend's service. We each made multiple calls to the spa to try to get it corrected. After at least four attempts to get it corrected over the phone, I emailed the spa. It took 8 days from when we were at the spa for them to begin processing a refund to my card. We were very surprised by all of this, especially at such a luxury spa.

This time, I decided to schedule a mani & pedi at the end of my week stay as an added treat. When I tell you that I was shocked by my experience here, I mean it. There was nothing luxurious about this at all. And these are absolute top-tier prices for their services. They took me down the stairs after I checked in and I waited in this dark area as people were randomly walking back and forth from the pool area. A woman escorted me into this insanely small room (it looks like a closet) where there were 2 pedicure chairs right next to each other then 2 manicure stations across from that. I truly was shocked. I wanted to leave. Their website and spa detail information is so insanely misleading. This small room they cram you into has no windows, and is at the end of a dark hall. Forget that we are still dealing with the pandemic and there is zero social distancing. The two nail techs that were working were lovely but so obviously under appreciated & overworked. Which is beyond sad. My pedicure was ok but my manicure was the worst I've ever received. I wanted a French tip and the tech haphazardly painted each tip with a regular brush. Not one was the same. I also walked out and came right back to get some nail polish remover to clean up my own hands as I had white polish all over my skin. Just insane. The receptionist was appalled when I showed her my nails so she said she would take it off my bill ($65) was removed but I still paid over $150 plus tip for my mani and pedi. In my personal option, they should close down the manicure and pedicure options of the spa. It is not a luxury, high end experience. Quite the opposite. This was not a great way to end our stay here & it put such a bad taste in my mouth. I won't ever come back to the spa for any service at all.
