My online gaming friend talks about this place all the time. I couldn't wait to try it. It calls its self a Café, but it's definitely more of a fast food place. You go to the counter, order what you want, take a number, they bring your food. Kind of like the old Carl's Jr. style. Plastic baskets lined with paper to soak the grease. They have a much better selection than any fast food place though. Also the shrimp basket as well as the chicken tenders are breaded fresh. And they really give you a good helping of food. What we ordered: Pastrami burger Hawaiian burger Guacamole and bacon burger 2x classic burger Jalapeño burger Shrimp basket Five piece chicken tenders Two kids meals that included aside in a drink(macaroni cheese, hamburger and fries) Two sides of beer battered fries Two sides of regular fries For 10 people the price ran about 100 bucks. Definitely some of the best burgers ever. Fries were really good also. It didn't take too long for the 10 of us to get our food. One strange thing happened, I was taking a picture of the kitchen area and after I sat down the manager came over and asked if we were taking pictures... First time that's ever happened to me. I told him I was taking pictures because I like to review prices on Yelp. Not sure if it's against the law to take pictures? Was there some secret thing going on? Don't know, just strange to be confronted or taken a picture. Other than an aggressive manager, the food was good, the service was good, and the portions were nice. Chubby's Cafe is a Not fast food restaurant. It's menu is packed with freshly made entrees from sandwiches and huge hamburgers to salads and seafood. You'll find old fashioned milk shakes too. I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit just after Christmas. Our party ordered the pulled pork sandwich with Chubby's own sauce and I chose the Shrimp Po Boy a Cajun delight with plenty of lightly fried tender shrimp. The fries were a cut above the norm. I was so impressed that I want to return to taste other selections like their Philly Cheesesteak or their seafood selections of cod or shrimp. His family owned "cafe" has deep Cajun family roots yet this isn't a Cajun restaurant, their selections have hits of Louisiana from time to time. I saw lots of locals frequenting this location when I visited. The food is freshly made and there in lies the difference which separates Chubby's from most other eateries in Tooele. I recently had a job out in the Tooele area and some employees brought in some food in for lunch that had my belly biting me wondering what was that yummy smell. They told me that it was from Chubby's; one of the best hamburgers in town. Online ratings had me intrigued. Lets go out to Chubbys and see what all the talk was about. We ordered the Classic American Cheeseburger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup & mustard and the Jalapeno Ranch Deluxe burger with Pepper jack, American cheese, bacon, jalapeno, lettuce, onion, tomato & Jalapeno ranch. The food came out fairly quickly and now it was time to dive in and see if the food lived up to the hype! The burgers was overall a 3. The meat was a little dry and the bread was a lil sloppy. There wasn't anything special that made it stand out in my eyes. They were average burgers. The fries were actually better than the hamburger to be honest. The fries was cold as soon as I sat down in the car and grabbed the first one to munch on. I definitely expected more based on the reviews however I will be giving Chubbys a second chance in the future next time I am in town for work. read more

My parents love chubby's, so when I was coming to Tooele for a dentist appointment, it made sense for me to try it out with my mom! The parking lot isn't ideal, but nothing that would stop me from coming. The line was nearly out the door, it was lunch rush so I wouldn't expect anything less from a tasty burger joint. Lots of construction workers. Just a note was that no mask mandate was posted anywhere inside or outside of the restaurant and the workers were not wearing masks. I was talking with my mom so much I really didn't analyze the whole menu, but from what I did see, there seems to be something for everyone. Burgers, Chicken tenders, French fries a few different ways, sandwiches, etc. I ordered a bacon ranch burger (no tomato or onion) with fries and my mom ordered a turkey sandwich. We quickly grabbed a booth and waited for our food. I feel like it came in a reasonable amount of time. I was disappointed that they specifically asked if I wanted tomatoes and onions, I said no, and those items ended up on my burger anyway. I have no problem picking it off if I didn't specify, but it feels like a waste of time to ask and then do it anyway if you know what I mean. The bun looked homemade and the patty itself was decent sized. The bacon on it was real bacon! It was really good. The fries were decent, a slight let down because they were a bit soggy. But the fry sauce for dipping was good. I would come back again to try something else or even have the bacon ranch burger again. My mom did enjoy her turkey sandwich, I suppose it lacked a bit in consistency, as it wasn't like it was the last time she got it. Excellent spot in Toole that has decently priced burgers that taste great and delicious shakes that are of very high quality and don't taste bland. The shake was the highlight of the restaurant for sure. I got the banana split shake and it was delicious. The strawberry shined through and cut the richness of the chocolate syrup. The flavor was very defined, and it was definitely way better than your average shake you'd find at a burger joint. They have about 8 different burgers to choose from. I opted for the Hawaiian burger. The burgers are good and are pretty typical tasting. For me, the draw-in for me will be their shakes. One of our favorite Tooele restaurants. Their menu is large so everyone should have something they like. The strawberry salad with poppyseed dressing is great. We usually get the chicken tenders with "sweet" sauce. The tenders are much larger than you get at most restaurants and the chicken is actually real, none of that pre-formed garbage. The hush puppies are tasty with the jalapeño ranch, give em a try. Meal sizes are big enough to share and not be left feeling hungry. The scones are a great ending to a meal, the cinnamon ones are our favorites. The shakes are great and creamy. Overall, you can tell that high quality REAL ingredients are used. read more

I see this place has hit the road and expanded. With that brings some attendant problems, such as staff being invested, but the fries, at least, were as solid as the OG location in PG. Unfortunately, nothing else was particularly and while this was fine, as far as fast food goes, it stops well short of elevating itself, as, again, the OG PG did...and maybe still does. Haven't been back in a while, come to think of it...this is still probably one of the upper echelon as far as Tooele goes. It used to be good, not really anymore. The owner decided to jack up the prices. It's almost 8 dollars for a shake. Did you know that you could buy a pack of strawberries for 3-4 bucks, vanilla ice cream for 2, and a small pint of milk for 2-3 and make multiple shakes for the same price? Sorry Chubby's, you shakes aren't THAT good. Wow. They also took away all their combo meals so now not only did the owner jack up all the individual prices, they also aren't giving you any sort of deal for doing a combo. Two burgers and two fries are 22 dollars. Mind you we got the cheapest burgers on the menu. Not only did they jack up the prices, but they are cheaping out on the food too. So they jacked up the prices AND cut their food quality? Something isn't adding up. The beer battered fries used to be bomb, we just got them and we couldn't even tell they were battered fries anymore. They're different, just look like potato wedges. My burger was DRIPPING all over. So soggy the bun was like a wet sponge. I picked it up and it was pretty much falling apart. Really Chubby's? This is sad. You're taking advantage of customers. This was our first time here. We stopped in for an early dinner at this casual style restaurant. The kind where you walk in, order, pay, then get a number to bring to your table. Besides one occupied table, the place was empty at 2:30. It's a burger place but they have plenty of tasty options including fish and chicken. I went with the Bacon Ranch Cheeseburger and my husband ordered the Mushroom Burger. They have sides to choose from which is included. I cannot speak enough about our order-taker/server. I finally tried Chubby's. I've heard their burgers are fabulous so I ordered the mushroom bacon Swiss burger with a side of regular fries. While the burger was huge - it wasn't as fabulous as I would have liked. Some of the mushrooms were cut so thick it made it hard to chew them. I enjoyed Chubby's cafe. I would like to try more of what they offer. Upon our arrival, this place was very crowded. We were still able to get a seat. They offer plenty of good food options. We had the pulled pork sandwich with beer battered fries and scones. I also tried the halibut fish with a side of cheese mashed potatoes. I was very pleased with the food. It took about 5 to 10 minutes for our food to come out, which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. My experience with the service was good. The Employees seemed very friendly and efficient. Simply put, these burgers are good! You can tell all the ingredients are fresh, they're made to order, and you won't be drowning in grease. Fluffy bun, crisp lettuce, perfectly cooked patty. Fries are great too. Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Fry sauce comes on the side.
