COP is that nice spot in the Domain right between North and Cru where the fountain, fireplace, and giant armadillo abide. There are also a few wooden rockers, a squishy floor, some cool functional art pieces, and many shade trees. This makes for a lovely waiting area while your partner shops down the street or you bide time for your name to come up on a nearby restaurant waitlist. Check the Domain website for information about free seasonal events here such as live music, holiday celebrations and the like. FYI, the clean, air conditioned mall restrooms are just a few steps down the block between Steeping Room and Apple. They even have a family restroom!

This recreation center…read moresits in the midst of a huge complex that includes a church, a high school, and athletic complex, a sports field for the high school, a recreation center and this is the second year we have experienced The Quarries Camps. The campus surrounds a beautiful lake where kayaking and canoeing and fishing all provide fun, while the view of a lake that looks like it's capped in shimmering glass is really special! So I'm now going to focus on the Quarry Camp-and I may open a Yelp location separate for the Camps -(yep -they have multiple camps available). Since my grandsons have been to Quarry Camp two years consecutively it is the one we have the most experience with. They make it very easy to register, sign waivers, choose if you want a full week or to come in whatever days you prefer. I found the cost to be less than many other camps and more than a few camps in our area. I wanted to lock down the weeks we needed early, as our grandson had specifically requested to return here this year. (They did end up offering a discount for booking early and even though we had booked prior to the offer, they didn't hesitate to send me a check for $40 which was the discount amount -immediately after the discount was offered.) Here is a description of the activities included in a full week at Quarry Camp. MONDAY-is a day spent at the camp itself. Getting your child settled in -meet their specific group camp counselors, learn the sign in -sign out process-and most importantly take advantage of the ability to give cash for snacks which they put on a card that can then be used based on your specifications. For example we felt $2 a day was enough for the snack bar daily-so we gave them a $10 bill asking he only be allowed to spend $2/day and they take it from there. The kids have free play the first couple hours in the humongous gymnasium, complete with a large bouncy house in one area, lots of basketballs and hoops, soccer balls etc. After lunch they go up to the "Game Room" which is one of the rooms available upstairs that has pool tables, multiple televisions, air hockey and more. TUESDAY-they all get on a bus and go to a different building with in the compound for a movie , popcorn and a soft drink. After lunch gym play and game room and they go down to the snack bar about 45 minutes before camp ends at 4PM. WEDNESDAY-is water park day! A favorite of all the kids. They can wear or bring appropriate swimwear and water shoes and lots of sunscreen is encouraged. Typhoon Texas is a large water park in Austin. They provide lunch on Wednesday catered at the water park by "Raising Canes" Chicken fingers, fries and tea or lemonade. The kids had a blast with a couple hours available before and after lunch so the kids had plenty of time to experience it all. THURSDAY-is jump park day. A trip to Altitude is in order. Child centered play, with Free time built in. Game Room and Gym when you return. FRIDAY-is a fun filled day which wraps up the week! A picnic, then play along the shoreline of the lake as well as kayaking and canoeing . Some general info: The size of the groups the kids are divvied into (based on age) is manageable and they have adequate staff assigned to each group-however they all work well together for larger activities. Kudo's to the Counselor Team, helpful, -smiling-always cheerfully greeting the child when they arrive in the mornings. We've not experienced any team member that didn't seem happy to be there! The kids bring a water bottle daily along with their lunch-the exception being Wednesday when they have a catered lunch at the water park . Camp hours are 0800-1600 however there is flexibility so coming late or leaving early is permissible. If you want to attend all the group outings you do need to be there by 0930 as that is when the bus leaves. This camp provides a safe, enjoyable camp experience and I'm guessing I will get a request to return next year !!!! Definitely a Five Star experience for our family!

It was 69$ I think. They had a deal for 79 for 2 races with 20$ game play and an order of strips or burger but we had already eaten. The gentleman then did a little safety orientation and we got helmets and were off to our carts. The race was 12 laps and we had a blast. It's more tiring than you think and we were all sweating a little but man was it fun. The carts set for adults go about 40-45mph on the straight away which feels super fast. The second race was even more fun with other riders. You are NOT allowed to bump others or your kicked out. The safety rules are easy to follow and made sense. We will come back with more friends!!

If she could change one thing about the camp, I am pretty sure she would have the campers spend more time actually riding the horses. Even though she felt she didn't get enough time riding horses ( I can't recall the amount of time the campers spent riding horses, but it did seem rather short at the time), however, she is always talking about returning to camp. My one complaint about the camp is that the "counselors" are older kids(12,13 and up) who have been riding at Switch Willo for a while. While I did find some of the "counselors" completely competent, others left me wondering if my 7 years old was more mature than her "counselors", which was obviously disconcerting. Fortunately, I never heard of any dangerous situations ( and I know I would have heard about any if they occurred because my daughter takes her "reporting" very seriously.). All in all, my daughter always left camp happy and exhausted, just the way we want her. ;)

Communication has been timely and clear, no mixed messages or anything. There has been some turnover, but they are doing the best they can to keep things running smoothly. I can't imagine it's easy to hang on to staff in the world we're currently living in. The SproutAbout app is really helpful as well. I get insight into how much my daughter has eaten, how long her naps are, and I can log in and watch what's going on in the classroom.

The teachers are top rate at this location and many of them have over 10 years of experience with CCY. I wasn't enthusiastic about the management when my older son first started but Ms. Yolanda, Ms. Anna, Mr. Joey, and Mr. Paul have been my favorite team over the past two years. I feel that they genuinely care about my kids and they are communicative if I have any questions or concerns. My older son always enjoyed the theme days and special events like Splash Day and the Kona Ice truck over the summer. I was nervous with my younger son starting at just 3-months-old in Infant 1 but he got a lot of one-on-one attention even in a group setting. I look forward to him growing up at CCY and working with a lot of the same teachers who took care of his big brother.
