    Race track
    Carrie M.

I had fun here, but it was dreadfully hot, and I am usually pretty good at withstanding heat. I asked if the AC was broken thinking that maybe it had just broken down that day. Turns out that it has been broken for THREE YEARS. These races are pretty pricey, and they make you pay for an annual membership as well, so it's kind of crazy that they don't have a working AC in Texas. I asked if there were fans, and they literally have one fan. We waited an hour for a ten minute race. It was fun, and I can really see the appeal for teenage boys to flock here, which was the major demographic I saw. One of the employees was really rude when I didn't have my feet in the right place while he was doing the safety check. He could've just told me what to do politely, but he was so disrespectful for no reason. My car wasn't even turned on yet.

Ask the Community - K1 Speed Austin

Quick question, do you have military discounts?

Hello, Marcia! Yes, we do! We offer $5 off a single-race package at our location for active-duty military, veterans, police, fire and EMS personnel with valid ID.

    How fast do they go?

It depends. Notice how K-1 Speed's reply states "capable." The employees can and will throttle the speed of your kart remotely. When we were there, an employee jumped into one of our "races." It was obvious to see that his kart's speed was not…

Why do i get a call center when I call instead of the cashier at the location?

Hello Chezza! We are experiencing an enormously high volume of calls these days that would otherwise overwhelm our cashiers and prevent them from serving our customers in store. That said, our telephone representatives are extremely knowledgeable…

    Is there a weight limit?

Hello, Elena! Our karts can usually accommodate drivers up to 300lbs. See you at the track!

How much is it for kids?and how much is it for adults?

$25 per "race" plus an $8 "annual membership" fee. The $25 per "race" goes down if you buy more races, but you can't split what you buy with other people. (i.e., an eight race "package" is $144 ("annual membership" fee included), but you can't…

How much does it cost for a kid here?

    $420.30.

My work group is having an outing here. I can't ride a cart because I'm pregnant. Is it still worthwhile for me to go?

Yes. The excitement is contagious . They also have a pool table and a few video games.

There were a lot of interactive exhibits that kids seemed to love. The museum spans a couple of stories, starting on the upper level, with plenty of colorful and immersive spaces that make for great Instagram photos. It's very hands-on, though, so if germs are a concern, this might not be the best pick. Parking was somewhat limited. There's a small one-level garage and some outdoor parking behind the building. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. Admission felt a bit pricey for what you get. It might have been worth it to me if I had children in my group.

Bought mine online and they do sell them at the venue as well. Once inside there are three maybe four flights of stairs (elevator available too) as you start on the top floor then walk back down. The museum provided some interactive picture spots and stuff for kids. The main ball pit with the light show was pretty fun too. Be careful as the shoe covers make it slippery! They do have traction strips, just take large strides. The VR was my favorite thing, with the last part with the bubbles as second. Took me about 50 minutes to go through and again helped spend the day out of the house. I could see if you had kiddos this would be gunner.

The salad bar alone is enough reason for me to go back to eat there. Everything was fresh and crisp on the salad bar. The pizzas and other food were replenish non-stop and it was always hot and fresh. They always had cups, ice, and drinks available. I am serious. I'm picky and I can't think of something to complain about here. The rides are always a hit with the kids. Mine will spend 8 or 9 hours there - happily. My husband joked that it should be a place for summer camps. 4 of our group didn't want the buffet and got burgers and taquitos from the restaurant. my husband is quite the food snob and said that the burger was awesome and gave me a bite. I agreed. The bacon was like a thick cut slab of pork belly. If I didn't enjoy the salad bar so much I would definitely get the burger, but I can have the best of both worlds and eat some of his next time. We had tickets for one attraction each but couldn't even use them. There was virtually no staff present at most areas such as pull tables, mini golf, even nobody at the gift shop/prize shop.
