Yes, I am giving Chuck E Cheese a 5 out of 5. BUT for the Redding, CA location only... When we were paying for order the manager (who helped us) mentioned to us if we had the CEC app we could earn more tokens. Yay! Large dining area, so you're all spread out. The entire dining/ amusement area is very well lit. I have been to other CA locations were the dining room is dark, and the gaming area just as spooky. When I can't see my kid at an attraction because the room is dark is a big fat no, I don't know if a weirdo is near my kid at the skew ball game. And I cannot stress how gross carpets are, but I knew these were fairly maintained as I could still see the many colors and designs in the print. I have been some other CEC locations where the carpets are BLACK. And the walls and arcades were CLEANED. Paint wasn't rubbed off. Video screens weren't caked with grime. The salad bar was fresh and it sits close to the front customer service counter so it was consistently replenished and kept clean. I hate having to track down staff to get more tomatoes for their empty salad bar. Normally when our family goes to any CEC the adults just get salad bar because the pizzas are cardboard. This time we, the adults, tried their pizzas and wings. I can honestly say this is the first time as an adult I enjoyed my pizza. It was served hot, cheesy, and we devoured the entire pizza! The wings we unexpectedly spicy, too spicy for anyone at our table to enjoy. I asked the manager if that was the typical bbq sauce and not the hot bbq, like in error. He said he could make them less spicier for us, and he promptly came out with a fresh order of in spicy bbq wings. There was a vending machine of just ice cream novelties. The kind my kiddos wanted were all gone. The manager saw us at the machine and opened up the flap to see if there were anymore varieties. Yep, he found some more. So yes, I do recommend Chuck E Cheese, BUT only on Redding. The other locations in CA turned me off to arcade/ pizza restaurants, but this one I do recommend. Welp... I survived Chuck E. Cheese with my two little spawns. The kids had a blast, the pizza was good, and the salad bar never disappoints. But the customer service? Yikes. The first employee barely spoke, answered questions by pointing at the menu, and even asked, "Do they even know how to share?" when I asked about an unlimited play card. The employee at the prize counter wasn't much friendlier, and to top it off, my 8-year-old said "thank you" on the way out and got nothing but a blank stare in return. Maybe it was an off day, but two unfriendly employees really put a damper on what should've been a fun family outing--especially for an $80 visit. The worst chuck E Cheese I've been to. I've been to many locations, all we're friendly , kind, and clean. This location is rude and dirty. The games are supposed to be 1 token each this location has several the are more and it's not written clearly for the kids that are playing. When talking with the employees, it's clear the owners care more about money than actually providing great service. I'll been putting in a complaint with corporate, it's a shame that they are aloud to operate separately from the way the other chuck E Cheeses are run. read more

After spending a day out hiking in the Lake Shasta area, my sister & I thought it would be nostalgic to stop by Chuck E. Cheese & order a pizza for our 3 hour drive back home. We called in & placed a phone order. We asked if we could have the pizza in 10 minutes & the employee was so kind & said he could make that happen. Luckily, we ended up checking out the sundial bridge & putting gas before picking up our order (a total of 20 mins) & we headed over to pick up our order. The cashier immediately saw me pull up to the parking lot & welcomed me. He had glasses & when I got to the register he laughed & mentioned how we thought we weren't going to show up despite how serious we sounded over the phone. Had grandparents day with grandkids. Reluctantly decided to go to Chuckie Cheese. Pleasantly surprised that they had upgraded and remodeled. Very nicely done. Of note they no longer use coins but digital card which keeps track of points and tickets won. Made the process so much easier! Also the facilities seemed cleaner than previous visits. My kids and I went here the other night they are all teenagers and kind of wanted to not go but I talked them into and they were sooo glad I did we had the place almost all to ourselves the guy who was the manager was super sweet super accommodating and informative you can tell he cares about the place and the place was super immaculately clean and this is a kids place but you would never know!! So I'm torn here... the attitude of the staff working was great. They helped fix ticket issues quickly, the pizzas were delivered hot and exactly as ordered. The biggest issue was the lack of cleanliness. At one point, I came into the bathroom as one of the workers pushed down the garbage yet didn't "check" the stalls... there was garbage all over the floor, old urine on all the toilets and yellow grease on all the soap dispensers. The paper towels were empty as well as the seat covers. They were not so busy that they didn't have time... I noticed a few of the workers laughing and joking behind the counter. In the Resturant, the carpet was so sticky my shoes (and my kids) were sticking to it! I didn't see anyone wiping down the games the entire two hours I was there. Only two ticket exchanges were open for the whole Resturant. The rest were broken. All that being said, the salad bar was very clean and fresh, the soda area was kept clean. Well run establishment. Granddaughter enjoyed her 5 birthday party immensely as did her guests.

I felt like I traveled back in time when I entered this Chuck e cheese. I gave my daughter her wristband with playpass, so she can begin enjoying the games. The machines did not have a scanner. They were accepting tokens instead! We had to quickly get some tokens through the counter or machines. For $10, you get 30 tokens. For $20, you get 70 tokens. For $30, you get 120 tokens. We went with the 30 tokens option. Everyone had to carry around tiny cups to hold their tokens. There were some cool rides like a huge monster truck that goes up and down. There was also a swing ride that went in a circle 3 times, which required a seat belt. There were a few broken machines, but the workers came quickly to fix them. We were hoping for Chuck e cheese to make his appearance every hour, but we never saw him. Maybe this location doesn't have that option either. When we went to redeem the tickets, the prizes were small. My daughter wanted cotton candy, which cost $3 here. At other locations, it cost $2, too. Overall, for $10 and 30 tokens, my daughter had a great time running around. I'm glad there is a Chuck e cheese in Redding. read more

I usually don't give 5 stars. In fact, all previous visits I would give it a 3-4 and the rating varies based on customer service. My review isn't about the prices--we all know it isn't the cheapest party in town but when you use coupons, I believe it is a fair deal. Yesterday I took my son for his 5th bday. We didn't book a party there as Coupons is a better deal. The manager let us use 2 of the reserved party tables so that was nice. The reason for my 5 star review was an employee I haven't seen there before---Kevin. Kevin is GREAT with both kids and parents. His attitude at work is what it should be. He acts like he enjoys his job. The others, not so much. He went above and beyond with any need that we had. So if you plan a trip here--be sure Kevin is working first. Lol. The food was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. We were really sad to see the animatronics go. I just want to make a point to thank our server Nevaeh! She assisted with our son's birthday party yesterday. She was really great very attentive and helpful. I also found out for my husband that he thought I tipped her and I thought he tipped her and therefore she did not get a tip. We are truly very very sorry and we will come back in soon and I will make sure to give you your tip then or did give you a better tip because she was really great. I've long heard how bad Chuck E. Cheese's pizza is, but I never got the chance to try it out. I was recently invited to an outing at the place and figured it would be worth it to try the food and see if it's really as terrible as everyone says. You know what? It's not half bad. The dough is a little bland by dough standards, but the sauce, cheese and toppings are fairy on point. There are several pizzeria's in Redding that are way better, and so I assume the only reason to come here is for entertaining the kiddos. Kids go bananas over Chuck E. Cheese. This place is a serious improvement from their old location years ago. Everything is new, shiny and clean and as annoying as it can be for adults, they do a pretty good job at making it bearable. Biggest difference: Their crap pizza has actually improved quite a bit. They also have a salad bar too...Although, I'm not sure I would trust it with all those sneezy munchkins running around. They jam a TON of games in here. There's no ball pit anymore, but that's a good thing--way more sanitary!...Cuts down on the pee smell and dangerous objects that would be hiding under there. You can't clean a ball pit! Yuck. As cliche as it is, this place is great for birthdays. The staff is friendly and helpful and they act excited to be around the kids. A huge load off for both the busy and lazy parent. They really do take care of it all. Cleanup is the best part of course! Each birthday child gets a fun blowup crown with coins in it and a blowup guitar. They have a rockstar theme going on in here. Remember the big Chuck E. and friends on stage with the loud creepy blinking eyes? Well, they manage to make that whole scene much less creepy than before. And I always look forward to seeing how the kids are going to react when big-headed Chuck walks out to greet them. Will he be loved or feared? I wasn't going to review this place but I think this location is due for an updated review, considering the last one was in 2007. So here goes nothing... It was very clean inside and surprisingly all the machines were in working order. We brought a coupon we printed off online and got a large pizza, 4 drinks, one endless salad bar, and 135 tokens for $39.99. They now have the option to upgrade the drinks to kid cups so we did that. The food was okay...edible none the less. The only thing I didn't like was that they don't offer the blown up balloons as prizes anymore like they used to. Visited Wednesday July, 23, 2014 around 6pm Living in a region that hasn't had a Chuck E Cheese's since the early 1980's, I haven't been to a Chuck E Cheese's restaurant since 1995. I would say much has changed while some has remained... the fun is still there, with the games and Chuck E visiting the kids. What has changed, the pizza is much better than was before. This restaurant has VERY friendly staff, exceptional at customer care. The food was good and the games funs as well. The environment is typical with kids everywhere, but hey, that's why we went there, for our 6 y/o. Finally, even as late in the day as it was, the restaurant was exceptionally clean! She forgot her phone there so the father to the friend called at 5:09pm to see if it was still there the employee went to their table an confirmed it'd be there for us to pick up. So this morning my oldest daughter an myself start getting explicit texts and calls. So I call Chuck E Cheese an I'm told it's not there, I hang up call again a bit later talk to someone else he says it's not there an I can talk to the DM tomorrow, then after another call I get a manager who confirms it was there last night but now is not. So an employee at Chuck E Cheese stole my 10 year old daughters phone while at work. I am blazing mad. I have contacted the police and I will be contacting corporate tomorrow morning. Went here while visiting my parents as they wanted to take the grand kids out. It was clean, food was decent. Salad bar could use a little work, it was a bit messy and the Ranch was running way low. But overall, it's a million times better than the old Chucky Cheese that used to be in Redding off Hilltop (that place was beyond foul). For starters I'm not too thrilled about the CEC parking because it's too small because it's located in small plaza that hardly holds enough cars for all of the little shopping stores and a couple of times when I was there, I almost got hit a couple of times on foot and when I was driving. I believe that CEC should be moved to a better building and location where there is more parking and it won't feel crowed. So my suggestion is that there are at least about 4 buildings that are vacated when the stores went out of business. The 4 buildings that I know of that are still vacated is the old Rayley's building (that's been vacated for about 6-8 years if I'm correct), the old Orchard Supply Hardware store is vacated as well, the old K'mart building, and the old Meeks building right across from Safeway grocery store off of E Cypress and Churn Creek. There might be more old buildings that might still be vacated but those are the 4 that I know of. All and all I'll give CEC a one star for their parking. read more

The salad bar was delicious, but the pizza really left a lot to be desired. We ordered multiple pizzas and one just did not taste right... After taking it back to the register, the staff not only refunded the money paid for it, but gave us 25 tokens for our difficulties. The machines were all in working order and when they weren't the staff immediately were available to fix them. They have moved further up Hilltop into a newer place. I always dredded going there when my kids were smaller since they would always catch a cold from the ball pit/ climbing tubes/ games/ furniture/ who knows what snot covered surface. My daughter loves chuckie cheese, and we've been to about 7 different chuckie cheese, and this is far the best. Food isn't the greatest but who comes for the food. The people working here were very helpful, all the games worked, the place was clean, and the best part was the locals at this place were very friendly. Terrible. Whoever played the Chuck E. Cheese mascot was much less than enthusastic with the children. Only 1 out of 4 ticket counters was working. Many out dated games that are no longer working properly. The place was filthy, no one stayed by the door to make sure chilren didn't leave without their families. Plus there is an insecure side exit anyone could use. Many of the games or rides were broken. The now single animatronic character on stage never came on once in the hours we spent there. They could have at least closed the curtains. The drinks were small and expensive the salad bar was frightening. I wish people put more effort into their work. read more

The food is hardly worth reviewing. You should know what you're in for anytime you go to a CEC. The food was ready quickly and our order was correct.
