This guy is the best UP seller in San Diego. He tells you how much, over the phone and says he has to see it and that is fine , I get it. When you get down there he will inspect the item 10 ft away and tell you have to get a new one or the used item that he has in stock. Wow the price he mention over the phone is now triple or quadruple then what his estimate was and have in mind he hasn't even touch the item in this particular piece was a rim. waisted time and gas going here !!!!! read more

This place was recommended to me. Located in Southbay, this small shop offers any sort of repairs and maintenance for your bicycle. It seems like they are busy most of the time. I dropped off a Schwinn cruiser for some well needed maintenance and replacement of tubes. Picked up my bike after two weeks and came home well tuned. read more

Be careful with this owner he aggressively approached me in front of my five and seven-year-old daughter. He got confrontational. I had to call the police on him and follow police report. He drilled into an aluminum mountain bike frame that cost $3000 causing infrastructure damage, he glued a piece of plastic he triple charge me. He is a con artist. I will be seeing him in court. If any of you have experienced anything like this please reach out and let's put this guy in shame where he Belongs. Forgot to mention to it looks like he was been through this because he said it's not the first time so you've been worn he will keep your bike. He will keep charging you and the bike when I brought it in had 150 miles in it and when I picked it up, it had 220 miles and you can tell the bike was driven apart with scratches. Not an honest businessman or owner-when dealing with customers, I went in to do a simple job which was reducing the size of some wiring on my e bike as it was too long and looked tacky. The owner then told me it was going to take a 2 days to do a simple job like that, and that he was going to reach out to me in a day or 2 at most. After waiting for a week, I finally did reach out to the shop owner and learned that my bike was currently being worked on as I was on the phone. Little did he know, I was parked outside the store, looking at my bike outside the store locked with other bikes. Finally after a week and a half with $80 for diagnosis and an $85 part which apparently my bike needed, I got my bike back with basically my long wires zip tied to the bike and made to look like what I paid for was done. Not taking my bike ever again there, and please check your bikes when it's returned as I didn't do that. read more

I was helped by Pancho today in finding a hybrid (mountain/road) bike to fit my height and needs. He was pleasant and willing to listen to what I was looking for and point me in the right direction. There was a disgruntled customer there at the time which Pancho and his colleague dealt with very calmly and professionally, thus encouraging me to continue with my purchase here. I believe I received a fair price for the brand and condition of the bike I received and he was even willing to do a little bargaining. One time I took a bike in to have the handlebars swapped out. The old ones were some nice condition Cinelli's. When I went to pick it up, I asked where my handlebars and accompanying brake levers were? They appeared surprised by that question, "looked" for them, then came back and said we have no idea where they went, but here's some old used Brooks leather bartape in a ziploc bag for your troubles. read more

One of the few bike shops that I have found that does not make you feel dumb when asking a question regarding bikes. Oscar redid my rear deraileur that I had started working on. He got it working perfectly. I have used this shop several times when I want upgrades to my bike. They have no issues when I buy a upgrade on Amazon and bring in for them to install. What a great experience with this local bike shop, came in to get my shifters adjusted, Luis helped me and what seemed to be an adjust issue was really a strength issue. I recently was involved in a hit and run bicycle accident which required surgery, 2 weeks in the hospital and over 70 occupational therapy sessions to recover the use of my wrist and hand. But back to Luis, he looked over my bike Trek Domane SL6 and didn't try to up sell anything, he made some solid recommendations and explained what to listen and look for he said just ride it. On my bike rides I pass by here all the time and just didn't notice it, it's full stocked with an array of parts, there are some bikes for sale and full service repair area. Terrible place. Went to simply get a rim strip, old guy tried to sell me one that was obviously too wide for the rim. When I pointed that out, he got indignant and said that was all he had. When we were leaving he called me a name to another customer which I won't repeat. This place is a dump and the service is just aweful. read more

Just discovered another defect in workmanship from this bike shop I will never return to. After paying 300 to get a wheel rebuilt and 2 tannus liners, besides discovering that the tubes were installed sloppily, i find that one had cracks in it in 3 places, had a fold in at least one, stems crooked, AND not extending out at least a half inch. Just the poorest work on top of horrible customer service. The owner Pancho doesnt seem to know bikes well, and has an aggressive atitude when you confronted with a dissatisfied customer. I just bought my bike here. It was a really good deal for a used road bike. They helped me get it setup to be the right size. And figure out which gear I need. A few weeks before completing my bike tour along the coast from Canada, I contacted this shop to see if they could ship my bike back home for me. They told me they would save me a bike box and would ship it back home for me, no problem. The day I finished up my 2,000 mile bike tour, I rolled into their shop and they looked at me like I was crazy and told me, "Sorry, we can't do that any more. If you want to leave your bike with us, we might be able to get to it next month." I was furious. I ended up spending the rest of my day, which was supposed to be a day of celebrating my accomplishment, panicking and trying to find a place to help me with my bike so I could catch my plane in time. And there was NO way I was going to leave my bike there- they didn't seem trustworthy and the shop looked pretty crappy. This is my new go-to bike shop. My disability scooter had a flat back tire and I stopped by unscheduled one Saturday morning. Even though they had just opened up, Ernie was awesome, he was able to replace the tire and inner tube (i supplied them) and had it done shortly after I got back home in Otay Mesa. All done for a very, very reasonable price. These guys saved my afternoon on our EVs with my kids. Got a flat on my bike while staying at the Chula Vista RV Resort, rode my wife's bike two miles and took the tire and rim into the store where I was rudely met by the older gray haired man who clearly seemed like I was bugging him. I told him I'd wait for the repairs and how long would it be? He became irate, cursed in Spanish at his helper and told him to fix the tire, then yelled at him again that he was taking too long when he was actually done? This guy definitely has problems, very unhappy and shouldn't be working in the front of the store with customers. My girlfriend had a flat tire and we were about 1/2 miles from the store. The head mechanic answered the phone promptly and told us to come by and he would take care of us. The bike was a new Trek Electric and obviously none were sold in the store but the expertise of the mechanic took the back tire off of its very complicated shield, replaced a busted tube and got us back on our 30 mile trip. The cost was so inexpensive (we were from out of town and desperate so he could have asked any price and we would have paid it). We notice how he spoke to the many clients who came in and didn't buy anything but wanted to ask questions. He treated them with the same courtesy that he treated us. The perfect birthday present came to me last minute. A road bike!!! I have a couple bikes in my garage, but don't fit quite right, and one is a beach cruiser, and since it doesn't have any gears, has to be driven on a flat surface... It is pretty safe to say that they don't get any love. I decided to scout the town for road bikes for my boyfriend for his birthday. And if possible, a teeny tiny one for myself. I've been in to Pedal Pushers as well as Thomas's, but nothing really caught my eye... I started to look on Craigslist and saw numerous postings for a listing in Chula Vista. I called him, said he owned a bike shop, and that even though they were closed on Sunday, he could meet me there if I was interested. How awesome of him!! I did not have trouble finding the place, since I am from Southern San Diego, but I can see how it may be difficult for some. Just remember to turn right at the exit and not left at Palomar. The second I walked in I saw so many treasures! The only hard part was making a decision. I quickly found one that was perfect for me, and a somewhat matching color for my boyfriend. I bargained a little, since I was buying two, and got the two for a steal. Both bikes are very nice to ride, look and feel good. There were two things that made this a slam dunk sale, his guarantee for the life of the bike, and he also said that if the bike I got for my boyfriend is not the correct size he will exchange it. Since I have a tiny car, I brought along a bike rack in case I made the deal. Problem was, I had never put it on my car. The owner was nice enough to mount the rack to my car and lock the bikes in place. I know that I will never go anywhere else besides Ocean Bikes, he just took the time that most owners don't. read more

Brought my older Schwinn here for a couple repairs and upgrades a couple months ago and spent roughly $60 on some pink handlebars and pedals from this specific shop and brought in MY OWN Cloud 9 seat to be put on my bike once my tune up for another $60 was completed in the quoted "3 weeks time." One month down the line, my boyfriend and I give them a call for an update, we are told it would be ready in the next few days... sweet! Called on that day it was supposed to be ready... again, told it would be a couple more days... alright? Finally TWO MONTHS down the line we decided to just pick up my bike and MY OWN Cloud 9 seat and get a refund for the $60 I spent on the pink handlebars and pedals... only for the rude salesperson who hates his miserable job to tell me I can't get a refund and I can't get MY OWN Cloud 9 seat that I brought in, back because the seat was basically "LOST" and on the receipt it doesn't show I bought handlebars and pedals... but that I bought the seat from that janky shop?? You're welcome for the $60 that I regretfully put into your sad company only for you to steal from me! Bottom line- if you plan on seeing your bike ever again, don't bring it here because you'll be in the grave by the time they get around to it! read more

I bought a used Gary Fisher mountain bike for a family member over a month ago. The bike is great. The price was fair. The only issue was that the center chainring teeth were stripped. My fault for not inspecting the bike properly before purchase. Easy fix. Oh, also the rear tube needed replacement. The bike is being ridden regularly, the rider really, really likes this bike.
