a funny thing happened during what was supposed to be a quick stop for a mango drink at yaohan centre, it somehow turned into dinner at the food court. most of dinner at home had already been prepped, but the rice still needed time, and waiting around felt like it would take too long. with so many stalls and lineups across the food court, usually a good sign that the food is solid and good value, it didn't take much convincing to just eat there instead. i ended up at chun hing and went with their three items with rice or noodle combo for $16.99, which also includes soup. pretty hard to beat that for the amount of food you get. the standout was the eggplant. so good that halfway through the meal i was already thinking i should have just ordered two servings of it. made fresh, the texture was soft, saucy, and packed with flavour. i also got the green beans and honey glazed chicken. the portion was generous enough that the meal easily stretched into leftovers for the next day, which made the value even better. honestly, with a price like that, you almost start to wonder...why even bother cooking? like many places in richmond though, carry cash. read more

One of several takeout combo places in the Yaohan food court. Parking is plentiful in the Yaohan lot. The selection isn't the largest, but they sure do have piles of food. No fear of running out of stuff. As of the time of writing, the only thing they sell are takeout combos. The older menu board showing individual items is obsolete. I walked out with a nice large box filled with goodies, and a bowl of pork soup. Pretty decent stuff. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point. read more

Always a great takeout option in Richmond. Cash only. I like the vegetarian chow mein, sweet and sour pork and beef tendon and radish. The deep fried prawns are delish too! Lots of seating in the Yaohan Centre food court. The ladies who work there are super friendly as well. read more

Great value and great tasting food. For less than 15 bucks you can choose any three items dished out to you in heaping portions on top of your choice of a mountain of fried rice or fried noodles. Enough to feed two and it comes with a complimentary soup. They even give you extra chopsticks and a small plate to share if they know you are sharing. Highly recommend the honey garlic spareribs which tasted as good as sit in Chinese restaurants! All the items I tried were tasty. read more

You get what you pay for... you really do.. and there is a reason why there is so much, soooooo much, food leftover before closing if your buying something here to eat, or take home! We came here, my dear and I, as we were lazy, brought our self serve containers and prepared to buy two dishes to take home to eat with our greens and rice! I always wondered how these places in the food court are, and now I know exactly how they are, especially going down your stomach! The last time I have ever done takeout like this, it was at Kent's Kitchen in Chinatown, these places do not appeal to my appetite, but since we were going the cheap route, you make due with what is. When you come here just know that the next two stalls in this food court do the exact same thing, makes you wonder if they share the same kitchen? At a certain point of the day before closing prices get slashed to get rid of the over-cooking they have done and to just clear things, and there's always going to be lazy people who just take care of their needs to feed the family here. A ton of variety, from greens to proteins, all the staple dishes you would expect, from chow mein, some mixed fried rice, overly deep fried squid, sweet & sour pork, some buddha's feast dish just to name a few that I even remembered at this buffet like showing I saw. We came here with containers prepared to buy two dishes, my dear comes with these as she doesn't feel that there should be excess waste which is a good thing. After walking back and forth, left to right, right to left, we finally decided to buy from this location. It's funny to see a sign manually changed by hand, 3 bigger tin foil containers of food for $12, it will feed you and a family guaranteed. There's another one in the plaza that's a bit more expensive, makes us wonder if we should have went with them, but we decided to order a platter of sweet & sour pork, and also an order of beef brisket with bean curd and turnip. We gave our containers, they filled it, took our money, and zoom, off to home we went. Now to the dinner, for the pork, over battered, chewy, old.. well that's what it felt like.. something that been under the lamp a little too long, no sour, just sweet from the sauce, unappealing. Now for the brisket, another nice solid chewy thing, working the molars.. most definitely, the beancurd wasn't bad, a little shrivaled but really nothing to write home about.. or more like keep at home for another meal. We don't usually waste food, but I wonder where it went the next day as I didn't stay over to see round two of this meal. I wonder how this place is early in the morning when they first open, but rule of thumb, you get what you pay for, it would have been better just to have gone to a restaurant and order takeout! read more

Went here recently. Got the 4 items plus rice for 9.99 tax Included. They got the rice right. Moist, nice texture & very tasty. The items I got were the 2 pc fish filet, sweet & sour pork , honey garlic chicken & fried squid. The fish filet tasted better than the filet o fish from McD. & bigger too. I must had gotten lucky because the food tasted fresh. So it might had come straight out of the kitchen. Yes , a delicious and satisfying meal. & enough leftovers for a second meal. Not quite sure if its totally the taste buds or the MSG talking. read more

There are three food court restaurants at Yaohan Center that sell entrees from a hot table all next to each other. Kind of like having Panda Express locations next to one other, except much better in regards to quality, taste and price. Chun Hing is one on the far left of the three. Golden Rice Bowl and Pak Tak being the other two in the triumvirate. For $6, I was able to get a three entree meal with hot tea which is an awesome deal. There are many choices to choose from. The two that stuck out to me was the fried fish and tofu entrees. In addition to the entree, I got a choice between noodles, plain rice and fried rice. Overall for the price and the selection, I would recommend Chun Hing for a quick and tasty meal. read more

The food is less greasy than the other vendors, however the taste could use some work. Compared to it's competitors, it's on the blander side. Also the service is rather lacking. The service is friendlier at Pak Tak's. However, I still enjoy Chun Hung's when I'm in the mood for some decent Chinese fast food! read more

Tried Chun Hing yesterday and wasn't disappointed. I ordered the $6 3 meal entree and was shocked at the amount of food. Wow! All of the food looks fresh and delicious. The only downside is that they stack up the food for a prettier display ... which means the food stacked on top (which is first to be served) can get a little cold. Most of my food was lukewarm but it still tasted great. Servings are huge (like 3 big pieces of spicy pork chop). read more

The serving is a lot smaller than usual and the staff is very rude. Im going to try other outlet next time. There are 3 to choose from.
