Lamb Spine (non spicy) and tea eggs.
    Ryan L.

Ordered the Lamb spine non spicy noodles, broth was was pretty great. Was a clean tasting light style broth. Only bad thing was it felt like the fresh noodles were cooked in too small of a pot because they were sticking together. Tea eggs were also great.

Before it has even opened, there is already a line of a dozen people. Well, it's actually two lines. The line to the left is dining in, while the line to the right is for takeout. Fortunately, someone in line tells us to write our name on the clipboard. Minutes later, our group is seated in two tables and we order the same thing, a couple plates of their superb Cantonese roast meats. BBQ Pork, Soy Chicken, and BBQ Duck: The first plate contains char siu, soy sauce chicken, and roast duck. They ask you how fatty or lean you want the char siu to be. We ask for a mix, and this doesn't disappoint. The meat is thick, rich, and tender with perfectly glazed, sticky, and charred edges. The roast duck is great, so plump and meaty. BBQ Pork, Soy Chicken, and Roast Pork: The next plate has soy chicken, roast pork, and also char siu (you can never have enough). The skin on the roast pork is really crispy and packs a pleasing punch. The soy sauce chicken is a crowd pleaser. I'm not usually a fan of soy chicken, but the flavors are insanely good and the meat is extremely juicy and succulent. Topped with green scallion ginger oil, the chicken is outstanding. The rice soaks up the juices and flavors from all the meats and it sort of a treat on its own. Greens: The Chinese broccoli is a nice green balance to all the rich delicious meat. Parking: The Superstore parking lot is large and chaotic.

HK BBQ Master - name checks out…read more Our group arrived on a weekend night, and the wait was ~ 15 minutes. While there was about an hour left in the day, the duck was sold out... kind of. So, our group ended up ordering the BBQ pork, and roast pork. Everything tasted great, and there is also extra sauce for rice, if desired. One thing to note that are standard at some good spots is that service might be rude, and our hostess and servers were no different. On the topic of "kind of" sold out duck... we later learned after being sat that there was suddenly duck available... but there was no way to order this. Outside of the BBQ meat, we also had soup, and it was very tasty - the pull-apart pork especially. One unforgettable part of the evening was that the servers gave our group attitude for not ordering one full meal per person at the table. Even judging by pictures, the size of one meal is quite large, enough to comfortably feed two. (We saw several parties walk out with takeaways...) Perhaps this is why they kept giving our table attitude, though.

We found street parking, though there appeared to be a few spaces behind the restaurant if you're lucky enough to snag one. The ambiance is bright and lively, but people are definitely here for the food. Service was friendly and efficient, with servers, runners, and other staff constantly refilling water and clearing tables. We started with the scallops and vermicelli. They came with plenty of garlic, but the scallops were somewhat overcooked and tougher than I prefer--about three stars for that dish. The mala hotpot with lingcod was the star of the meal, with a wonderful balance of tongue-numbing spice, deep flavor, fish, and vegetables. The clams were equally delicious, served in a sweet and spicy sauce that was so good I kept stopping the staff from clearing the plate so I could spoon more of it over my white rice. The yu choy with garlic sauce had an excellent crunch and plenty of flavor, making it a great vegetable dish to balance the meal. The Coedo Yuzu beer paired beautifully with the spicy food and had a pleasantly sweet, citrusy taste. An excellent meal overall and absolutely worth the visit. Enjoy!

This is the place to come to have northern Chinese style seafood, especially fish. You choose from hotpot, soup, or steamed fish and get tons of fresh choices. You can choose for the hotpot the soup, weight of fish, veggies, spiciness level, and other adjustments. It is HUGE! We chose the nonspicy soup, with package of tofu skin, lotus root, seaweed knots. The fish is pretty good. Good flavour - though I have to admit I'm not one to try the spicy, but don't worry the soy no spicy flavour is still pretty flavourful. I got some rice to go with it and I definitely recommend something to go otherwise it's pretty soupy. The other dishes were reflective of a very high quality place. - cucumber salad was excellent. I loved the peanuts in there to contrast. - I LOVED the Morel mushroom and tofu. It was amazing. The morel... wow. So succulent. Brown sauce has great balance too. - I really liked the fried rice. It's spam I think and really hits the spot. Not salty, seems just light enough. The service was excellent too. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

We ordered the soup with the expectation that it would be in some medium-sized bowl that the two of us can easily share. The soup actually was giant and is meant for a family. Luckily, it was absolutely delicious; the pork was super tender, the egg fits in perfectly, and the broth was tasty. Every drop was finished. The braised pork belly was also delicious. Tender and fatty, I wished there was so much more sauce for the rice to soak in. I'm also a super fan of pork floss, so loved its inclusion. The side is also noteworthy. The radish soup was so flavorful yet light, and the tofu was fantastic. Everything we ate was five stars on its own. Only panic was when paying our server said they only accept cash or debit? I only had credit cards and American money, but in the end, she was able to use my credit card. Not sure what that was about.

Not sure why that's not an option. Definitely a missed opportunity for the business imho. Oh... and the kimchi was a bit weird with the fact that it's overly sweet. Overall, good value and good food. Portion sizes and price point felt standard for Richmond. I thought it was cute that they also put the teapots on a candle stand to keep it warm. For 5 people, the total cost with tip was around $40 per person. Unfortunately, the only thing that fell short was the long wait we had to endure despite having made a reservation. We booked a reservation for 12:45pm, but because of the overwhelming weekend rush, we were not sat until 1:30pm. I understand that the restaurant was quite busy, but it certainly made the experience a little less enjoyable. There were also lots of people waiting in the area and the hostess found it hard to identify which groups were waiting and which had already checked in. I'm not sure if I'd return as there are so many other great dimsum places in Richmond that may not cost as much of a wait.

Prices are like food court prices but restaurant quality level. The only thing that needs to be improved is service. You had to get your own napkins, sauce dishes, sauces, chili oil etc. so had to take 1 star away. But the quality of the food was enough to make it a 4 star review. The rice rolls were of the perfect texture. Generous servings too. The popcorn chicken was salty and savoury with friend basil As well. Very nice touch. I would repeat. Cheers! Happy eating!
