The program promotes fitness, confidence and respect of oneself and others in a positive and fun learning environment and my son has thrived with each successive session. I have been so impressed with not only the Little Ninja program (which, as I mentioned, goes beyond karate and teaches respect of one's parents, healthy eating and exercise habits, discipline, etc.), but also with Sensei Yuri who has the unique ability to pull the best qualities out of each student. His way of teaching is one that is fun, but treats each student regardless of age as one who must give and must receive respect. He is not afraid to expect the best of each student, and the students thrive! I'm excited for my son to now go to the next level of classes and also for our family to check out the other offerings at the school. The school has fitness programs for men, women and children (such as self defense, dance, piyo, etc.) and it's worth mentioning that many of the classes are sensitive of the needs of Orthodox students. While we are not Jewish/Orthodox, it is heartening to me that a student who is more comfortable with a male or female only teacher/class can choose that, or they can choose a unisex option depending on their comfort level, religious requirements, etc. There's lots of parking and the hours are great, with late hours and weekend hours for people who work/have school. Definitely check out a trial class at this school! The skills learned at Krav magra are not just for show--they are supremely useful for self defense and I think a great option for anyone of any age interested in martial arts.

Beyond the party, everyone was extremely nice and the dojo was extremely clean and organized. The decor was full of interesting art, weapons, and armor. I also really appreciated the approach with the kids and positive influence through karate. This is definitely not a Cobra Kai studio! This dojo system practices Aikido style by Imaizumi Sensei and they are nothing short of amazing. I love the technique, teaching approach and physical and mental development system they offer as part of practicing Aikido. The quality of instruction provided here is superb. Adam-sensei's attention to detail is top-notch, a fact which is attested to by the seriousness found in his higher-ranked students. Anyone who has trained here can tell you that the intensity, precision, and dedication found herein are rare treasures. I've had the pleasure of training with Adam-sensei and his students many times throughout the years, and it is something that I always look forward to. Attention is paid to the details- be it the preservation of the classical arts (and correct pronunciation of the Japanese terminology), the feeling of 'reality' which is presented with knife drills and sparring, the correct hip position for leveraging someone who outweighs you by 50 pounds for a proper koshi-nage (hip throw), or just the right way of passing a sword from one person to another. Correct presentation of the classical arts is a very important aspect of the training here. Studies of the classical densho (scrolls) and an understanding of the poetically named techniques are critical elements in learning to uncover the 'flavour' of each form. However, training with present-day ideologies is still presented in a manner which, to use a rather cheesy phrase, "Brings the wisdom of the ages to the modern training hall".
