However when I called Sweet & Savory, Meghan told me she could do it and asked me when I wanted to pick up. She said that they opened as early as 8 AM, even on Sunday. So, I requested to pick up the cake at 10:30 AM, on the Sunday of the day I needed the cake. She asked me a few details about the cake design, but I told her to be creative. I gave her the colors I wanted, and icing choice, but she could be creative with design. Per Megan, I know now that she doesn't prefer to not have a cake design concept from the customer (I can understand why, because without it, it can be a nightmare with some customers), but I trusted her expertise. I'm a creative person, so I know sometimes it can be confining to not allow an artist to let their creative juices just flow! I had feeling she would come up with something amazing, and SHE DID! Can I just say, she knocked it out of the park!?! The cake was gorgeous and delicious! My friend love, love, loved the cake! She's still talking about that cake and it's been a week! The folks at our event loved the cake too! It was so soft and moist (that is difficult to do with red velvet cake) and the icing tasted like a cream cheese, the macaroons were out of this world and overall it was incredible! I cannot wait to use this bakery for future events and/or special occasions! I visited this spot this morning and had a delicious cappuccino! The barista even put a little…read morebunny on it. So I was really hoppy about finding this place. Until I entered the bathroom. And saw the "under" orientation of the toilet paper, which violates the original patent for toilet paper holders from 1891, where the paper clearly goes over the top. The "over" configuration: * prevents the roll from brushing the wall * makes it easier to grab with one hand * reduces accidental unrolling * and, most importantly, does not make decent people feel like they're living in a lawless society. What you have here is bathroom anarchy. I must admit that tile and brushed metal fixtures actually look really nice, which somehow makes the backward roll even more upsetting. It's like a beautifully plated meal served on the floor. Moreover, the ceiling contains approximately 400 judgmental eyes observing you while you attempt to live your life. The wallpaper on the ceiling (on the ceiling!!!) has a pattern based on the "evil eye" motif (sometimes called nazar), which shows up in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern design. Traditionally it's supposed to ward off bad luck or jealousy. All it does in this case is confirm the establishment has abandoned reason and at least one of the people who work has met a psychedelic mushroom. Still, the vibe everywhere else in this place is amazing and the coffees are very very good!

Looking back, I regret not paying the extra 50 cents for lettuce. I also didn't get much sun dried tomato flavor from the bagel itself. The smoked lox bagel was good, but not the best I've had. The sandwich felt a little sloppy and unevenly assembled, with some bites getting much more of certain ingredients than others. The drinks were probably the biggest disappointment. I originally wanted an iced tea, but they only offered regular unsweetened iced tea. As someone who typically enjoys green tea or jasmine tea, I found the cold tea selection pretty limited unless you're ordering hot tea. The iced coffee also had a strange aftertaste that reminded me of charcoal. In addition, the iced drinks were served in hot coffee cups, which felt a little odd. There was also no simple syrup or agave available.
