A thrift store in Palm Beach has a different kind of ring to it! They have so many different items here whether its household or clothes, shoes, gifts, accessories and more! My dad looked up Church Mouse before we traveled to Palm Beach for day trips. We stopped by two days after Christmas - day after Christmas, they were closed to allow volunteers to enjoy the time with family and friends. They have their own parking lot with some spaces, but you may use pay-for street parking if all of them are taken. (Do not park in residential areas if you're not from the area - you must have a resident pass visible in order to park in residential areas, unless you're in a marked pay-for parking spot.) The shop is very well laid-out and organized with clear signs labeling where you can find specific items. They are donation-based and carry a variety of items including clothing, accessories, shoes, furniture, home decor, kitchenware, books, and entertainment. Staff were friendly when I visited there. Personally, I feel that you can find a mix of prices and items there. Some items were reasonably priced, but there are some higher priced items there. (I did feel one Christmas tree decor item that was metal felt a little steep - I guessed it was $25 but checking the sticker, it was actually $85.) I believe if you look through the items, you can find deals, but please do not walk in expecting a case like these social media stories where you find a rare item and the shop priced it incorrectly for dirt cheap. Overall, it's a good spot to check out once in a while if you're in the area. read more

A perk of thrift shopping in a wealthy enclave is the chance of big discounts, which is exactly the Church Mouse's draw. Inside the powder-blue Georgian Revival-style building are racks full of designer items that have been donated to the local Bethesda-by-the-Sea church. Sifting through the clothes required patience, but can unearth such treasures as a Burberry trench, a jacket from the Row or a Sara Roka dress all around $400. The shop is also teeming with vintage designer heels, ties and bags, along with vintage décor. There was a men's corner with a wall of ties, mini suits and sportswear. Took the bestie for an adventure day of thrifting. Had a nice drive up and private parking in the back. So many cool finds this is a definite spot you'll find alot. Saw nice Gucci jackets, manolo shoes all for great prices. Unique furniture and statement pieces. Definitely take your time to look around because great finds are there from the minute you walk in. Wow, the prices are insane for USED items, this is a thrift store not Saks Fifth Avenue. What was more annoying was the attitude of the workers. I was looking for placemats, what a joke. Not only were they so overpriced, most were stained and tattered. You could go to any store & find them priced much better and they are NEW, not used. Looks like greed here, quite disappointing & obnoxious in every way. I guess they seem to forget they are a THRIFT store, nothing more. Always great to& fabulous items. We especially like the housewares area & books, but the clothing is very well organized and some items are truly amazing designer finds at a fraction of the price. The furnishings are pretty amazing in a Palm Beach way. They are priced accordingly, but it is Palm Beach and a great location with its own private parking. I've been to this place twice. First time I let it go. Thinking it's probably 1 or 2 bad employees at this place. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I went again and the same thing. All volunteers are rude. They won't greet you. They keep eye on you. Look you up and down. Hesitate to show you jewelry. The clothes are out of fashion, old, and over priced. They aren't even vintage. Shoes are worn up to the point that they are falling apart. But they have an audacity to charge $100 for it. They charge $45+ for the jewelry on the name of "vintage" I will never go back again read more

This is a small shop with lots of items. There's high end items, mixed with cheaper brands. The prices are a bit high, but you can find treasures. The location clearly dictates the price on some things. Lots of pretty things & lots of artwork. Some new items too. Some vintage items too... The clothing sizes are not inclusive to plus size woman. The Church Mouse is a boutique style thrift store close to tony Worth Avenue. There is a free parking lot in the rear of the store. Proceeds from the Church Mouse go to support the outreach for The Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea. Bethesda is a beautiful old church best known for being where Michael Jordan and Donald and Melania Trump married. The Church Mouse has the distinction of being one of the top donation based resale shops in the country. Expect to find a nicer selection of items including antiques than you would find at your typical thrift shop. The store is over 4,500 square feet and they sell furniture, clothing and accessories including crystal, china, household goods, and books. Items ranged from a few dollars to many hundreds of dollars. The store is staffed by friendly volunteers. Some of the richest people in Palm Beach donate to this charity so it is always fun to poke around. read more

While wandering the nearby area, we came across Church Mouse. Since they were closing in a few days, they were running a store wide promotion so we ended up going inside. The store itself is an okay size. The room you enter is full of women's clothing and shoes, but there is also a men's clothing area by the fitting rooms and a furniture room to the left. As for the clothing, I wouldn't say everything was totally high end but it was a mix of brands (no Walmart/Faded Glory or anything like that). During the season, you will pay a premium for these finds though. There is a small parking lot behind the store for customers I believe! read more

I visit this thrift while staying at my condo in Palm Beach, I went this week twice, the first visit was about a half hour before closing. The staff were cordial and said it was closing at 5, I got a few things paid and left. I visited a few days later and brought my friend with me, we looked around and I didn't find anything this time but my friend tried on and was going to get a pair of slacks. We stood at the register and we're just looked at and ignored, a woman came behind counter, didn't even look or acknowledge us and walked away. Two other woman just gave us dirty looks, another woman came behind the counted and looked right through us. Why? These snobs I believe were volunteers and talking among themselves... my friend had the slacks on the counter and clearly was ready to pay and purchase the pants. She looked at me I looked at her and she said "let's go" If you don't want to deal with the general public don't volunteer, if you work at a store you must know you'll have to wait on customers. Don't waste your time visiting the Church Mouse while in Palm Beach! It is the most over priced charity shop/sale that I have ever been too! I have always been too late to visit it whenever I am in Palm Beach. This trip, I made a point of adding it to my itinerary for an after breakfast visit. I could not believe the high prices on used furniture and clothing! In my opinion, it would be better to go to Saks on Worth Avenue and look at the sales rack for clothes! A pair of really used Sam Edelman pumps was $25 for reference. There were a lot of shoppers but I saw no one buy anything while in the shop. Definitely spend your time elsewhere while on the Island! read more

I visited this shop for the first time today and was disappointed. Several items had stains on them, the store smelled musty and I've seen a better clothing selection at TJ Maxx. Stopped in after having lunch. Frequented by one of our friends. Lots of things to search through. I'm not a true antique shopper so can't go by me as to how much I did or didn't like it. I usually abhor thrift shops, but there is something dear about The Church Mouse. It's old guard, waspy PB on a plate. Needlepoint pillows, silver coasters, old fogey cardigans, cast off dinner jackets. Of course, nothing is really a bargain -- which perversely adds to the allure. As an Episcopal, I like that the sales proceed St. Bethesda By The Sea -- which is a tremendous church. read more

Like a lot of you we should come to the church mel when it was an actual thrift store and you could find good deals. maybe you have to come at a certain time but when I went in there I don't think I look to anything under $100. that would be clothing items. And when I did see something under a hundred dollars I could probably find it in TJ Maxx for 29 new not 69 used like they wanted. So it's not a super bargain BUT, the end of season sale I just shopped was fantastic. I brought home 4 relatively high end sport coats for about $120. The clothing (for men, can't vouch for the women's selection) was mostly very high quality and ranged from your solid basics to some humorous statement pieces and all of it screamed Palm Beach. The staff was very helpful and the proceeds go to good causes. Worth a stop in. read more
