There is a scavenger hunt with a prize if you find all the items. You can even buy your beer as you browse. I am sure some people spend hours here. There's an area for shoes, the front is a mix of vintage pieces, and the right room contains more luxury designer pieces such as vintage Versace, Chanel, and Gucci. I found a few items to try on and ended up purchasing a silk-cashmere blend, turtleneck sweater by Chanel from the 90s. Pricing was reasonable for this piece and it was in very good condition for its age. Pricing does vary on the other items I saw and tried on, due to designer, condition, and age. The folks working at the shop were knowledgeable and helpful to everyone. I believe their team would also help you if you're looking for something specific - I overheard one gal helping someone looking for a handbag and she offered to take photos to send to the client over the phone of their current assortment. It's near the Blue Anchor Pub, just before you go over the Intracoastal on your way to the beach. A Blast From the Past is owned by Dee Ziemba and it is made up of two boutiques, a couture boutique in front of the store selling designer handbags, shoes, clothing, and accessories, and a vintage boutique in the back with costume jewelry, hats, and collectibles. There was so much interesting art and beautiful porcelain but my favorite part of the store was the costume jewelry. It reminded me of all the time I spent looking through my grandmas jewelry box. I loved examining all of the gorgeous enamel pins and earrings that used to adorn the classiest of ladies. I also loved a Chanel bag and a really cool pair of Gucci sunglasses. Everything in this small store is marked and neatly displayed. There's room between most of the items. Price wise it's not bad with some items reasonable and others on the side of a higher priced goodwill -- but better quality. All items seem clean and in good shape. Of course not everyone has died. Some people just want to sell a household of stuff in bulk before a move. In any case I'd much rather purchase estate items which are usually of a nicer quality than thrift, at a clean store like this. Also you are not having to drive around to multiple addresses. Everything I saw was in great condition. They had furniture, collectibles, mattresses, house hold goods, and even some clothes. If it makes up items in someone's household, they sell it. A wooden T.V.console was only $25. They had some nice knick knack shelves and I am currently studying my walls to see if they will accommodate them.I wanted to know if prices were firm or negotiable but the man who was working was chatting to someone else and I didn't want to interrupt. On Northwood Road there is a hub of fantastic places to eat and artistic places to shop. Free street parking is available and there is an overflow parking lot at the end of the street. Owned by Tim and his wife Inge, their store is like walking into Etsy. Actually they do have an Etsy shop. Their wares are composed of vintage home goods, furniture, accessories, jewelry, and hand made upcycled treasures like little glass planters you can hang and license plate art. They like to reuse what they can and turn it into something interesting rather than add to the landfill. During my visit Stone Button was participating in a Bahama relief drive as were the other shops in Northwood. They created really cute license plate art from cut up plates that read Bahamas. Outside is their salvage yard with over sized letters. This is the perfect shop to find that one of a kind gift. I left with a small china box that matches my grandmother's china. At only $10 I was pleased to find it. If you adore the vintage vibe like I do you will want to pay a visit to this charming shop.
