Oh my! We may drive all the way from our home in North Carolina next time they have the walleye/perch special! Prepared to perfection. Super friendly and attentive service by Sarah and crew. Beautiful view off the deck. Wanted to adopt the chef but found out he's married to the hostess and it's a family business. Finding the "Inn" was definitely a blessed part of our Southern-heat escaping vacation.

My husband and I stayed here last minute for our anniversary, as another nearby place had to cancel due to power outage. The staff on the phone were very accommodating and polite. We reserved a king room, lake view. Upon arrival, we went to where the check in area would be and there was a bulletin board with envelopes with different peoples names on them. We found ours. No employee member greeted us, or went over any amenities they have. As this was a last minute stay we didn't really know what the place offered besides a restaurant. We went upstairs to our room, following a map that was posted on the bulletin board, We had to go into one building, than outside again and into another building to get to our room. (A little strange) The room was a very clean and seemed to have everything we needed. A stunning view of the lake! However, there was no real air conditioning. When we got to our room there was a "window" unit in the wall, turned on, but the room was HOT. So we turned up the unit and left for a while. (I couldn't nap in a hot room like that.) The room was dated and when my husband tried to shower in their stand up shower, he had to crouch down to get under the shower head. There also seemed to be some issue with the water temp changing while you are showing, no matter where you set the handle, it would get intensely hot or cold after about 2 minutes. Overall, the king bed was immensely comfortable and I slept really well once the room cooled down. There was a flat screen tv with plenty of options to watch, a basket with snacks and drinks, and a coffee kurig in the room. There is no access to the water, no beach. There is only a boat dock. Couldn't even put our feet in the water from the dock, which bummed me out. The restaurant was okay, the food was decent, but they were out of stock on a lot of basic items. The interior of the restaurant was dated, but staff were friendly. We were dressed up, celebrating out anniversary. The waitress didn't ask if we were celebrating anything. This seems to be the place that a lot of the local residents of retirement age, drive there boat across the lake to have lunch. Nobody under 50 besides us. If given the choice, I don't think I would stay here again. The people were nice, the bed was comfortable. But just not what we were looking for.

My husband and I literally stumbled upon the Churchhill Pointe Inn and are we glad we did! Hubbard Lake was not on our travel itinerary, but due to a change in plans, we were fortunate to stay here for two nights. Ashley was our first contact and she is efficient, helpful, welcoming and an all around nice young woman! We were pleased by the size of our room, the comfort of the bed and the quality of the towels, sheets & pillows. Our breakfast basket contained juice, muffins, breakfast bars, fresh fruit and homemade cookies. We spent the afternoon and both evenings on the deck reading and watching the boats go by. We also had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners. He made us feel very welcome and asked that we let him know if there was anything we needed. Our second evening, we made reservations to eat in the restaurant. It's a lovely large room with a separate bar area. They have champagne ON TAP! and it's delicious. Our meals were outstanding and so beautifully presented. We learned that the chef (the owners' son) is self-taught. Well, he has studied well and we were so pleased to enjoy two very delicious meals and homemade sour dough bread. There are bikes and a kayak for guest use. We took the bikes out for a ride. It was a little cool to take the kayak out. It's a beautiful area to take a walk as well. It is true that the rooms are on the second floor and there is not an elevator, so be aware that if your bags are heavy like ours, you'll get a small workout. It is truly worth it for such a lovely place!!!

    My favorite Chardonnay....

Had anniversary dinner here last night with my husband. The food and atmosphere were divine. We started with the crab cakes which were fresh and delicious. I had the surf and turf which was flavorful and delicious and my husband had the crab stuffed whitefish which he enjoyed. Our table had a wonderful view of Hubbard lake which was awesome and romantic. I highly recommend the food. The taste, experience and value are excellent.

View of Hubbard Lake from "the apartment" unit Bed and Breakfast Churchill Point Inn. The actual view from the unit is panoramic.

Every time I've stepped foot into this place, I was met with a hearty hello, or a few hey expressions or a hi there! The patrons of this establishment today were extremely pleasant. I love the atmosphere nowadays as well as how it was in the old days and the fact that it is just a wonderful place to unwind from a few months of stress, or go have a good time on the weekends during the seasons that welcome patrons from around not just Alpena, but Michigan itself as well as some random appearances from people out of state. Overall if I wanted to rate this business I would have to give it a 5 and a half stars out of 5. Truly phenomenal to be a person who enjoys the ambience of a space that resembles awesomeness! Thank you. For reference, no I was not drinking at this establishment before legal age, I actually had enjoyed some food and occasional work as a child such as wiping the bar down or sweeping the floor etc.

Interesting bar area but we ate in the main dining room. Very clean and classic, with classical music playing at lunch. Not your hipster bar! Still, it was calm, pleasant and pretty. I ordered a club sandwich which was the best I've had in years, and the reason for this review. Bread toasted perfectly, bacon crispy without being burnt, and just the right amount of mayo. Everything in balance and served with the toast still warm. You could search for a club this good and never find it. My wife had the fish sandwich - cod, also hot and good on a fresh bun. Do yourself a favor and try Tait's if you're in Oscoda.

Everyone ordered something different and all enjoyed their choices. My husband's perch dinner had 7 fillets...with no bones! They offer a cheesy onion soup which I thought would be like a French onion soup. Wrong. This was a creamy cheese base with onions. Not my cup of tea. Really different. The steak was good and an ample size. Special dessert for the birthday boy was a mousse-like pudding with fruit and a sparkler to top it off. Like I said the staff was very accommodating.
