I will never return to Church's Chicken after my recent experience. I placed a simple order--a three-piece combo with a side of corn--through the app and went to the drive-thru to pick it up. At the window, I was told to pull forward and park. When I asked why, since my order was small, the employee told me I was "holding up his line" and treated me like an inconvenience. I also had to ask for my drink, which wasn't offered. By the time he brought it out, the rest of my order was ready--making the request to pull forward feel unnecessary. When I pointed this out, he closed the window on me mid-sentence. Once home, I discovered my food was cold, the biscuits were stale, and my jalapeño was missing. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager--only to learn that the rude employee was the manager. I calmly expressed my concerns, but he interrupted me repeatedly, insisted the food wasn't cold, and refused to provide his full name until I reminded him it was on his name tag. He then went a step further and threatened me, saying he was recording the phone call and reviewing drive-thru footage, as if I had done something wrong. I was never rude--I simply asked a reasonable question and expected a basic level of respect and service. Instead, I was met with hostility and intimidation. Goodby Church's! They had a very good chicken sandwich. Very comparable to the one KFC served. But I had to drive to Lockhart or New Braunfels to find a KFC and here was a Church's right here in Seguin. So, anticipating that good meal an awkward exchange commenced at the drive through yesterday. Some menu change so recent it hasn't shown up on the drive through menu. No more chicken sandwich combo. But I still managed to order a sandwich, fries and drink separately. The big (actually smalll) surprise came when I opened the bag. Instead of the big delicious chicken breast, there was a small smashed patty. Well, I guess that explains why they kept offering me TWO. Congratulate whoever came up with this money saving change. Nice new facility and good crispy chicken, but the ear of corn was very mature and very little butter. Corn on the cob is one of my favorites, but this was barely edible. Ordered the 15 tender family meal with a large sweet tea and an order of jalapeños cheese bombers. For starters everything was cold. My husband said he had 1 chicken tender that was warm. The sweet tea I never received. I never received gravy or ranch for my bombers so the whole meal was basically useless at this point. No utensils for the Mac and cheese and the fries were half gone. The guy who took the order was very nice but when I asked for half spicy tenders he asked the girl behind him if she could do that and she very rudely said no spicy as if they did have them just didn't want to make them. Food was good one of the best biscuits I ever had. Chicken and coleslaw was good too. Service was not great one of the male employees was not very friendly at all and got my order wrong. The other female employee was nice. Place was very messy and dirty. Food everywhere on all the tables in the restaurant. Floor was filthy and the men's bathroom had a bad leak under the sink. It wasn't a big deal until I get to the window and the employees are talking badly about me saying how I don't know the difference between a roll and a biscuit. Horrible! I just spent $42 on a 20 piece family meal and drove 30 minutes home, so I can't go back to the store to have it fixed. I only got 14 pieces of chicken. The meal was supposed to come with 4 family sides and 8 biscuits. I didn't get two of my sides, and I got ZERO biscuits. I also ordered the spicy chicken. I said it TWICE when ordering because when she repeated it the first time, she didn't repeat it as spicy. After I said spicy the second time she said okay. Guess what- not spicy chicken. Well never get to Go at this place. We just got home and it was to ghost food. Like a 15 but only 12 in the box. One breast and two drums two thighs the rest was wings. That chicken had lots more wings than anything else. Then the sides were only half full seriously half full cups or mashed potatoes and cole slaw. They are bull shit. Disgusting! On December 20, I ordered a four piece tender meal with honey mustard sauce. It took at least 5 minutes for them to get it to me. I am only a block away, but when I took out my chicken it was barely warm. There was no honey mustard sauce, but they did put in gravy. Gravy that was USED!! YUCK!!! I cringe just thinking about it!! This place is a mixed bag, the food is good but the customer service is lacking in a lot of areas. The people at the drive thru are generally in a very distressed state and usually get my order wrong. The most disappointing aspect of the whole experience though is that on more than one occasion they have told me they're either out of honey mustard or bbq sauce, which is a sin when you're selling chicken tenders. They almost always seem to have a scowl on their face when I question how a chicken place can be out of sauces for their tenders too, when they should be saying I'm sorry. It's just a small convenience one would expect, a simple I'm sorry we don't have any sauces left for you would make me at least seem humored. But I leave this place feeling like I've asked for something unreasonable every time. Please keep the proper amount of sauces, I only asked for a couple each time and always I get none. I once had to stop by KFC and get sauce for my tenders because this place couldn't deliver. This restaurant is efficient and friendly ONLY when Adrian is on the drive-through. He knows everything and actually says things like "food costs" when he's talking to the customers and tries to help. He knows the specials and all of the menu. It's basically the only time you can even be sure your order is even going to be right. He's super fast and doesn't leave you sitting there forever in the line. It seems like a small thing, but when one employee clearly stands out for doing the things that one would think were standard m.o. for fast food, someone should pay attention. The MANAGER VICTOR was very rude. He doesn't mind giving younger women discounts but has a problem with giving a older woman a senior discount. I went in and watch him ignore for at least 7 mins until he finally took someone's order. A simple "please give us a minute." Then I told an other employee that he is very nice but not his manager and VICTOR came up and asked if there was a problem. I said yes that he had an attitude and I didn't like it.
