In the months leading up to my wedding Alicia was easy to communicate with, very good about reminding me when payments were due, as well as prompting me with short and easy surveys to help her plan for the day of my wedding. She had me pick out photos of myself wearing makeup that I particularly liked, as well as hair/make-up inspiration photos for my wedding look. With that and a little instruction for me, she was able to very easily create a full look that was exactly what I wanted. She also did a hair and makeup test for my mother, and my mom felt SO beautiful - a priceless gift. Alicia is a pro at working with mature hair and skin. My favorite part of working with Alicia was her openness to making changes to ensure that I felt 100% confident in my hair and makeup. This was so valuable, and helped me to feel comfortable the morning of my wedding knowing that she would spend as much time as needed with me. Her sweet, cheerful presence and true artistry were so appreciated. If you are picky about hair and makeup (or have moms/bridesmaids who are), I recommend making sure you have enough time scheduled so that Alicia can really take her time with you on your day. I think we originally planned for 2 hours for my hair and makeup but it ended up being about 3 hours in total when all was said and done. For the trial, I went to her house, paid her cash, and thought I had a great experience. Upon leaving the trial, we confirmed date and time of the event and I had no worries. Day of I still hadn't heard from her 10 minutes prior to when I was expecting her. I decided to text her the room number we were getting ready in but heard no response. I waited 10 more minutes, then decided to call her. My call was ignored after two and a half to three rings, twice. At this point, I caught the drift, and wasn't going to waste any more time waiting around. So I did my own makeup even though I didn't have much packed (because I was counting on her showing up.) Bottom line, Taryn, this was so unprofessional and just mean. It would have looked so much better on your part and I would have way less animosity if you had just called me or texted me and owned up to the fact that you either double booked yourself or forgot. She was easy to contact and was amazing starting from our trial session! On the big day she and her other artist ended up doing makeup for me and 8 other girls and everyone absolutely loved them and their makeup looks! I wanted my makeup to be more natural and she did a perfect job of making me feel glammed up for the special day but still look like myself! Our wedding lasted hours and actually ended up dancing in the rain! When I got back to my hotel room, my makeup was still perfect- I was shocked!! I randomly found her online and visited her shop a couple months before to do a trial. I felt so pretty, I booked her on the spot. We used airbrush foundation at the trial, but on the day of my wedding, it wasn't setting properly, so she washed it all off and started from scratch with liquid foundation and the result was fabulous.
