Let's begin with my background on my hair: I had been growing it out as long as I possibly could but was in search of a hairstylist because I've never really had one since I usually get my hair cut by a student at a beauty school or get the razor comb myself and hack away lol But I think it's about time I got a professional cut and I'm in need of changing up my look with balayage highlights. I need those lights my life lol Thankfully, my coworker recommended me to her hairstylist and lo and behold, her name was Veronica and she has her OWN YELP PAGE! You know a hairstylist is DOIN' IT when you can literally yelp her and her reviews are phenomenal lol Anyways, she had an opening when she's usually booked weeks out in advance and I snagged it! I came to see her on a Friday afternoon and she is very sweet, funny and friendly. It's helpful to bring photos to show her what you want and she can explain the styles as well as recommend what she thinks would work for you. About 2 hours later, I had ~4 inches chopped off with balayage highlights and toner treatment added. We had a pretty good conversation about our lives and she also introduced to me high end shampoo and conditioner products. I got the travel kit of the Enjoy products for $15 and LOVE it. I'm only using Enjoy shampoo and conditioner now and I can't go back to anything else. It's really THAT good for my hair. I highly recommend Veronica. I noticed that Veronica had exceptional reviews on Yelp. Plus, her 17 plus years of experience and her Vidal Sassoon training truly impressed me, as did her photos. My mother was seeking a new hairstylist and colorist in Camarillo and I was more than eager to suggest Veronica. Well, she definitely didn't disappoint and exceeded all expectations. Firstly, my mother said Veronica is thoughtful, kind, patient, and sweet. And as for her skills, they were beyond compare to my mother's previous stylist, basically all her previous hair cutter and colorists. Veronica concocted a truly lovely medium/light brown for my beautiful mother that just lit up her skin and gave warmth and color to her complexion. Veronica utilized many excellent products from Europe to blend different color levels to achieve this color magic. Veronica is really good at what she does! I moved to the area looking to find a new hair stylist- and coming from someone that did my hair for 6 years, I didnt just trust anybody with my hair. I was a little bit hesitant with having someone else touch my hair, but I was open to the idea- since I was referred to Veronica by a friend who had awesome hair. I first went it for a consultation and to meet Veronica. The great thing about her is that she is very knowledgable, but at the same time actually listens to what you want and gives respectable feedback. She would tell you if it could be done or if it will damage your hair. I then went in for my actually appointment- I was told that what I want done may take a few tries but she said she'd be able to TRY her best and get the color I want. My situation was an ombre look from DARk, dark hair. I actually had to see her for a second time where she toned down the color and made it more warm and not to of an orange color. I am excited to see her for my next appointment where we will be lightening my tips to make it more of the color I originally wanted. I've always had a difficult time finding a hairdresser who can give me a layered cut that falls nicely. I've had blunt, choppy, or stringy layers - even hair dressers who insist on taking off a great deal of length. Veronica was amazing! She removed a lot of weight from my hair, dead ends, and took as little length as possible. My hair falls nicely and is much more manageable. I love it! As soon as I met Veronica, I knew my hair was in good hands. She stated clearly what she planned to do and made sure that we were on the same page before she got started. I'm half Asian and have somewhat uniquely textured hair that can be difficult to cut. When my hair is cut right, it's magical. It will just dry perfectly on its own.
